The sound of the gun clattering to the floor echoed through the tense room as the woman's eyes locked with the ugly guy, staring him down with a glare that said: "I'm gonna skin you alive and squish your gallbladder between my toes." She then turned to give me a quick glance, her icy blue eyes making my blood run cold while they searched my soul for my deepest secrets. Don't be crazy, I thought to myself, she'll never know about your secret stash of cough syrup you get buzzed on every now and then.
I quickly took note of her appearance - a woman's aesthetic, to the trained eye, can instantly reveal their personality. Hers was one to be feared. Her almost-white blonde hair was cut short and slicked back in a very edgy 'do, complimenting her closed up leather jacket and skinny leather pants. Her pale skin and hair popped against the black outfit, and her eyes were lined thickly with a similar shade of black. Her eyes were a frigid blue, the kind I feared. My eyes wandered downwards and, shook to the core, I whispered "Damn, she thicc."
"YOU FUCKING IDIOTS WE WENT OVER THIS!" She screamed, her pale face turning red with frustration. "NO KILLING THE KIDNAPPLES"
A woman in a white lab coat standing near the snack table snickered, covering her face with the palms of her hands and struggling not to laugh. The blonde woman snapped her head back and her eyes pierced into the laughing woman's soul before she backflipped over the lab tables and karate kicked her in the face. To be honest, I thought it was extremely unnecessary and cliche, but it got her point across.
"And that's what happens when you laugh at my language. Now untie that poor girl, we need her hands functioning." Her icy irises locked with mine and I felt a chill going down my spine. The more I looked at her, the more I admired her natural ability to look extremely edgy. I was jealous. And she did spare my life, after all. Another awkward silence passed as she stared me down, not blinking once.
"Hi! I'm Vonda. It's nice to meet you," I broke the silence with a smile.
"Uh, yea, I know. Vonda Vikes. Why do you think I kidnapped you?" She responded, her blue eyes unfaltering.
"I - uh - well, that's what I was going to ask you, actually. Why did you kidnap me?" I asked, stuttering slightly. This woman's so terrifying, I wouldn't be surprised if she hated Bugs Bunny, I commented silently.
By this time the ugly guy had silently obeyed the woman's orders and snapped the zip ties on my wrists. I rubbed my arms awkwardly, once again thrown into an uncomfortable silence. I was suddenly aware that everyone's eyes were on us.
"Well, obviously I didn't kidnap you because of your name," She spoke quickly as if she expected me to understand exactly why I was here. "You're here because of that very special ability you've been hiding. We all know you have it, you don't need to keep it a secret." She smiled a very fake smile, but hey, it's a smile, I'll take it.
My brows scrunched up in confusion. What ability? Then it hit me. I mean, it's probably not at all what they meant but I decided to give it a shot anyway.
"Ok, but I'll need a pickle."
