What Exactly Am I Needed For?
(Y/n)'s P.O.V
I started with cleaning up the makeshift bathroom first. There wasn't much to exactly clean; it was mainly building that was the problem.
How do they expect me to live here if things don't even work? I know Levi told me not leave, but if I'm going to live here I need something to actually do.
I moved over to the crates in the corner of the room and stacked them against the wall. I climbed up on the boxes and slowly started banging on the wall.
Surely if I can't leave, I'll just communicate with him this way. He'll have to hear me sooner or later.
After a few minutes of knocking, I heard a door slam followed by my door being swung open.
"What exactly are you doing?" Levi huffed as I climbed down, walking over to him.
"I need supplies to actually live here. The bathroom doesn't even work properly",
"What do you mean it doesn't work-",
I cut Levi off by throwing my arm in the direction of my "bathroom". He looked over and narrowed his eyes, slightly widening them as he saw what I was pointing to. With a click of his tongue and a sigh, he left my room slamming the door shut behind him.
A few minutes later her returned with 2 crates filled to the brim with items. He put them down on the floor and adjusted his shirt. He crinkled his nose at the dust and brushed it off of him.
"This first crate has items from old recruits. This second crates has some cleaning and building supplies. Make use of them and leave me alone." Levi stated before leaving my room once again.
I grabbed the crate of cleaning and building supplies and carried it over to the "bathroom". I first started to work on the sink.
~Time Skip After Building~
I wiped the sweat from my forehead and finished tightening the head on the shower. I stepped back and stared at my work proudly. The bathroom finally looked like a bathroom. I finally had a sink, toilet, makeshift bathtub and shower, and a makeshift mirror.
I walked back into my room and grabbed the other box, rummaging through it. There was a bunch of goodies left in these boxes, why would anyone want to leave these behind?
I slowly started decorating my room. I put a new blanket I found on my bed, I put away some clothes in one of the crates. I then grabbed 4 empty crates and a piece of wood to built a table. After a few more minutes of building and decorating, my room was complete!
I stepped back and marveled at my work. Soon my thoughts were interrupted by a knock on my door. I walked over and opened it, revealing a cheery Eren, a shy Armin, and a stoic Mikasa.
"What are you guys doing here?" I questioned as Armin handed me a basket.
"Levi let us go into town for a couple hours today, so we picked you up some items to
make you feel more at home!"
I looked down at the basket and back at Armin. His face turned slightly pink as he stared at me with questioning eyes.
"Thank you guys. I'll put it to good use", I replied, giving a small nod to them.
I gave a small good bye wave and closed the door, putting the basket down on my table. I walked over to the crate of miscellaneous items and put it next to the basket they got me.
I rummaged through the crate some more and put a few more decorations around. Once the crate was empty, I set it next to my bed to use as a nightstand. I looked back over to the basket and decided to look through it.
There was a couple of books, some hygiene products, and a couple journals with writing materials. I put the books with the rest of the others I found and out the hygiene products in the bathroom. That's when I caught a glimpse of how I looked.
I had a HUGE streak of dirt across the cheek going up to my forehead. Why didn't anyone say anything? I huffed and stripped, getting into the shower. I washed my body and hair quickly since the water was freezing; I haven't quite figured out on how to adjust the temperature.
I got out of the shower, drying my hair and putting on some of the clothes I found. I put on a tan long sleeve shirt and some black sweatpants. I brushed my hair back and put my dirty clothes in a pile next to my bed.
I sat down on my bed and stared out the tiny window next to it. Kind of strange that a window was built in a storage room, but who am I to judge. I leaned closer to the window, resting my arm against the glass.
I saw a few cadets exhaustedly running laps around the track; Those poor cadets must of really pissed off someone. I looked over and saw a few more spar fighting. This girl with a blonde ponytail was really going at her fellow cadets; remind me not to piss her off.
I heard my door open and I looked over to see Levi with some guy with big eyebrows. They walked into my room and stopped once they reached the foot of my bed. Eyebrows took a long look around my room, eyes glistening in awe as Levi clicked his tongue.
"I like what you've done here miss (y/n)", Eyebrows said as I nodded my head.
"Oh how rude of me, I'm Erwin Smith. I'm in charge of all of our missions. I heard you're a Titan shifter?"
"I am, but I unfortunately don't know how to shift. I'm sorry to disappoint", I huffed back, annoyed that that's all anyone wants to talk about to me.
"Watch your attitude (l/n)", Levi spat as I glared at him.
"It's fine Levi, I understand it must be frustrating for her. After all, we do keep pestering about it",
I glanced back at Erwin, his hand extended out towards me. I hesitatingly took his hand as he helped me out of bed. He let go of my hand and motioned to the door. I glanced between the both of them and followed them out, walking towards the halls.
Levi turned around and motioned for me to step towards him. I walked cautiously over as he took out the handcuffs, motioning for me to put out my wrists. With a sigh, I extending my arms as he hand cuffed me.
I'm seriously not an animal. If I really was a threat, wouldn't I be locked up in a cell? These people make literally no sense.
We continued on, walking down the halls. After many twists and turns, we found ourselves in view of these giant walls. I remember seeing these walls before, but I don't remember from where. Erwin took a step in front of me, his cardigan blowing in the breeze.
"Have you seen these walls before miss (y/n?", Erwin asked, turning his attention towards me
"I recognize them, but I can't place my finger on it",
Erwin turned his focus back to the walls, a hurt yet stoic expression on his face. Levi stood next to him, watching him intently.
"There are titans outside of those walls (y/n). Man eating, flesh eating, mindless creatures. All they know is kill and eat; It's sickening!", Erwin yelled, his fists clenched, "These titans have killed so many innocent families. So many children, so many people, and all for what? What do they gain from killing us. WHAT DO THEY GAIN?"
"Erwin calm down", Levi spoke, Erwin breathing heavily before regaining his posture.
"My point (y/n), is that we need you. Titan shifters are the only way we will ever be able to win this war; This war between man and beast. I know you say you don't know how to shift or don't remember, but I need you to. From now on, I want you to work day and night until you can. That's a direct order.",
I watched Erwin turn on his heels and walk away, leaving me with Levi. I looked over at him, seeing him with a mixed expression in his eyes. I looked back towards the wall, watching the sun set behind it.
Levi turned on his heels and motioned me to follow him. I obeyed, walking back towards my room. Levi stopped right in front of our doors, hesitating to say something.
"(L/n), don't let us down",
Levi uncuffed me and stuffed the handcuffs in his jacket. He then slammed his door shut, leaving me outside my door puzzled.
I never realized how gruesome these Titans are. I don't remember much, yet I don't ever remember these creatures. I knew of them, but are there really that many? Why haven't I seen more?
I sighed and stepped into my room. I got into bed and stared out the window again, the sun fully gone. Just what exactly am I needed for?
