Day 1
When you wake up, the first thing you process is that Sunflower is playing from what is most likely a radio, though whether or not you recognize the tune is up in the air. The next is that the bed that you're on is beyond comfy, seemingly designed to be perfect just for you. Finally, it's the very big red flag that oh yeah, you've been kidnapped. Though by who, you're not really sure.
If you choose to explore the room, you'll find that the door is locked with an electronic lock, the kind you only really see in prisons. You'll also find that the room is sparsely furnished, the few things in it being a bedside table and a bookshelf full to the brim with things you may want to read. A closet is set into the wall and if you open it, you'll see it's filled with what appears to be a uniform: grey t-shirt, grey pants and grey sneakers. You really don't want to think about how they knew your size or how they got you into the uniform you're currently wearing.
When the song comes to an end, there is a small click as well as a minor bit of static before a genderless, robotic voice fills the room.
"Good morning test subjects. Welcome to your first day at Project Guardian. You are likely confused as to why you are here. It has recently been made known to the UN that you all possess gifts far beyond what can reasonably be explained by current science. Because of this, you have been brought in both for training in these gifts and so that our dedicated team of scientists can see why you have suddenly developed them. We can assure you, by the end of the program, you will be returned to your normal everyday lives. You may now leave your rooms and socialise with your fellow test subjects."
The door to your cell buzzes before sliding open. The smell of freshly cooked breakfast wafts in and the sound of chatting voices soon follows, tempting you outside. Looks like you're gonna have to leave if you want answers.
When you exit, the door behind you slides closed again, preventing you from going back inside. The floor also lights up, showing you where you're supposed to go. Cameras are perched in every corner, watching every move you make. If you take too long to follow the yellow brick road (aka the glowing floor), guards are summoned to your location to take you to the cafeteria.
The cafeteria is clinically clean, all stainless steel and shades of grey. The only thing out of place is the large garden in the middle, benches offering a place to sit amongst the plants. Apart from this, it seems to be your typical cafeteria, albeit with guards posted at every exit and enough fire extinguishers to outfit twelve fire stations scattered about the room. You are free to talk to the other people in the room.
