(18) Inner Primitivity
A/N
I received an idea- in the shower cause that's where I think- and it's about Zootopia! It's an x reader and this chapter is a small cut of the book I want to write- if you want me to, I'll write it but I wanted your opinions!
Btw, feel free to request one shots!
Judy's P.O.V
Today had to be the busiest day all year at the ZPD. It was so busy that Nick and I had to put aside all cases and help Benjamin Clawhauser out with reception.
And mind you, it was hectic. So hectic that even when we yelled at the top of our lungs, the riot held up.
It was when Nick decided to shoot a blank up into the air it became instantly quiet, everyone looking around for the supposed bullet.
"Calm down, it's a blank! No bullet!" Ben exclaimed as the crowd began to panic. They turned their attention back towards the three of us in relief.
"We are here to help with all the inquiries you may have-" an uproar from the crowd was received as Nick shot another blank.
"Be quiet!" He barked as I nudged him. The poor citizens obeyed at once. "Now, please continue Officer Hopps." He smiled. I nodded.
"So, we will begin by taking your reports in one by one." I called. A tiger raised his paw which Ben took notice of.
"Oh! hi Dr Sabre! That's my dentist!" Ben nudged Nick who rolled his eyes. I took note of the "Dr Sabre."
"Yes sir?" I asked kindly.
"Well I don't mean to be rude Officer but we all have an issue that is linked to each other in some way, shape or form." He explained. I rose a brow.
"Is this so?" The animals all nodded.
"Well that makes life much easier." Nick noted. A pig then spoke up.
"Yes! We have a complaint about one of Zootopia's residents." She said.
"And that may be?" Ben asked.
"Liam Lozano!!!" They shouted in chorus, causing me to wince from the loud noise.
Nick frowned, "You mean the alpaca that works at the Natural History Museum?" I rolled my eyes.
"He's actually a llama." I corrected him.
"Right," Nick began, "what exactly is he doing?" He pulled out a pen and note pad as the animals began to talk.
"He's running around confronting people!" A horse shouted.
"He's dragging us to the museum!" Another animal called.
"He's making noise pollution loud enough to wake the neighbourhood!" Dr Sabre complained.
"And he is abusing the police phone system." A deeper voice called. Turning around, we saw none other than Chief Bogo.
"Get that alpaca-"
"Llama sir." I piped up. He looked at me.
"Fine, llama. Bottom line is, shut his myth down." Bogo was clearly annoyed and usually I wouldn't but I decided to question this "myth".
"Sorry to ask but what myth exactly?" Nick snapped his fingers.
"Is he still going on with the pedestal myth and the hidden world with strange creatures?" He asked.
"Yes!" Dr Sabre exclaimed, "and it's gotten to the point where he is forcing us to "believe" him."
My eyes widened. "He's STILL going on about it? Even after the detectives and archaeologists found NOTHING?! Damn he's hard core- been about... What? 7 years since he last told me about his discovery?" Nick said.
"Just make him stop." The chief demanded, dismissing everyone. The animals left the ZPD after what seemed like ages and left Nick and I to get ready to leave for the museum.
"Ready to crack another case Officer Wilde?!" I cheered, Nick however frowned.
"I dunno... Liam scored 100% in geography and all the archaeology stuff in school, he boasted about it quite a lot when I first met him.. He's never been wrong before, why would his myth be fake?" Nick explained.
We jumped in the car as Nick began to drive towards the location. "I dunno, we can't always be right..." I suggested as he shook his head.
"No you don't get it... He's really accurate Carrots... Like it's creepy." Nick babbled.
"So? Your point is?" I asked.
"Something just doesn't feel right... It's as if we are getting into something deep..." Nick trailed off as I thought about what he said.
"Well, let's find this Liam guy and question him before taking action." I stated. Nick nodded in agreement to my plan.
It wasn't necessarily hard to find the llama, he was busy yelling in excitement to a group of Zebras that looked like poor tourists.
"Officer Wilde, ZPD." Nick stated, pulling out his ID. "Please refrain from talking Mr Lozano." The tourists looked dazed and confused.
"Um, you guys can go." I said. One of them understood and translated it back to their native language, smiling as they ran off.
"Eh? Cops?! Wait a second..." Liam said. "Ain't ya the Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps that everyone has been talkin about?" Liam interrogated.
"Yes and we have come here to talk about your subconscious harassment towards other animals." I explained. The llama looked at me.
"What? I ain't harassing people... It's exciting! Who wouldn't be excited?! It's glowing!!! It's near!!! Something big is gonna happen!" He called out.
"Um... What is exactly glowing? And what is so big you have to kidnap animals to show them?" I asked.
"And abuse the police phone line." Nick added. Liam stared at us.
"The so called myth is the truth officers, I only speak of facts and facts say that the myth is real!" He said, excitement filling his voice.
"Alright- explain!" I said as he smiled brightly. Soon enough, we found ourselves being dragged by the llama in question, walking past exhibits and information rooms until we came upon the History Chamber.
"It's said that it was found when Zootopia was Founded, they were digging up ground for homes when they came upon this." Liam presented us with a golden pedestal, a giant paw print imprinted into the middle.
It was slightly taller than me and decorated with precious jewels, protected by a glass case and a red rope around.
"It was discovered with an inscription along the sides." He pointed out the foreign marks, "and we managed to translate this to tell a fortune. It states that one day we would be brought back to the past and this would happen when the pedestal began to glow!" The excitement was clearly showing and I couldn't help but smile.
"That sounds really cool! Do you know what it means?" I asked.
"Well I theorise that a door will open and reveal our past!" Liam exclaimed.
"That's cool and all but you can't go around dragging people in against their will..." Nick pointed out, reminding me of the reason we were here.
"Um yes, that's right" I spoke up, averting my gaze from the artefact. Before we knew it, the pedestal began to shine brightly, filling the room with light.
"It's glowing! Carrots I don't believe it but it's glowing!" Nick said astonished, shielding his eyes.
"I told you so!" Liam said.
"Is it possible to turn it off?" I asked as we walked out of the History Chamber.
"I don't want to tamper with it." Liam explained. "I wonder when the door will open!" Nick's phone began to buzz and quickly went to pick it up.
"Hello?" He said. A short pause followed. "The borders of Savanna Central you say? We will be right there." I looked at him confused.
"Somethings up Carrots, we will have to come back later Mr Lozano, thank you for your time." Nick said apologetically, grabbing my paw and headed for the car.
I frowned. "What's going on?" I asked.
"Animals are reporting something fall from the sky and landed in the beach waters. It was an animal and a shiny thing from the reports they gathered, everyone left." He paused before turning to face me.
"Remember how I said we are getting into something deep?" I nodded my head.
"Yeah? What about it?... Wait, you don't think this has to do with Liam's myth... Do you?" I asked.
Nick faced the front and pulled the patrol car into reverse.
"We're going in deep getting deeper."
