Natsuki x Yuri - Helpless

It was a very cold winter evening. Natsuki's father has gotten insane again, throwing half full beer bottles after her as she left the house. She ran through the snow covered streets, hoping he wouldn't come after her like he always did.

She hid behind a building in between huge trash containers. She always peeked around the corner, noticing her father didn't bother to follow her this time.

She was freezing. Her father didn't allow her to take anything with her. She wore a normal long sleeved, beige shirt and a pink skirt along with some knee high socks. Of course she'd be freezing like this.

It's not the first time. You can do it. You've survived it many times already, Natsuki.

She thought. But this time, it was colder than ever. It was snowing. It was freezing. The last time this happened it wasn't that cold. Natsuki didn't know what to do, but she also knew she couldn't hide there all crumpled up like that.

She stood up and dusted off her clothes. She walked through some empty and dark streets, hoping to maybe find something edible. She was on the verge of starving when she suddenly came to a well lit boulevard with lots of shops.

Shops like this throw a lot of stuff away. Maybe I'll find something there.

She walked over the huge and crowded boulevard. No one payed even any attention to her, they all were focused on themselves. Being as small and tender as she is, Natsuki got pushed around a lot.

She quickly made her way through the huge crowd and walked into a dark empty street that was on the side.

A certain young woman had noticed her and decided to follow the pink haired girl. They knew each other for quite some time due to going to the same school. She followed her silently so Natsuki wouldn't notice it immediatly.

She was carrying a few books she just got from a local bookstore. She most likely would read them all as soon as she got home. Her purple hair was slightly dusted with a few white snowflakes.

She peeked around the corner to find Natsuki dig around in the trash bins. Yuri knew about the way her father treats her, so she assumed Natsuki ran away from home again.

Yuri couldn't stand to see her friend in such a state. Natsuki was shaking and visibly emaciated. She couldn't help but get up to her. "Natsuki!" Yuri came up to her from behind and shoved her away from the trash bin.

"Oh my, are you okay? You're freezing!" Yuri said as she laid a hand on Natsuki's shoulder. Natsuki looked away, tears were forming in her eyes. She never cried, so she tried to hold back. She didn't want her friend to notice.

"Natsuki..." the taller one suddenly pulled her into a warm embrace. "Don't cry, please." She said with a soft voice.

That's when Natsuki didn't care any longer. She hugged Yuri and cried into her coat. Yuri pat Natsuki's head gently.

"Come on Natsuki. Let's go to my place. It's warm and cosy there." Yuri gently smiled at her. Natsuki nodded and they both walked to Yuri's apartment.

---

As soon as they got there, Yuri lit a fire in the fireplace. Natsuki sat in front of it on a fluffy pillow Yuri had given her. As Natsuki sat down, Yuri wrapped a blanket around her. "Warm up a little, I'll make you some soup if that's okay."

Natsuki nodded slightly. She didn't want to put Yuri through so much trouble. "You don't have to do this for me." She mumbled.

Yuri kneeled down to Natsuki's level. "Natsuki, you're my friend. I would feel horrible if I couldn't help you!" She said with a smile.

She them walked off to the kitchen to warm up some soup for Natsuki. She quickly got back and placed the bowl on the small coffee table in front of the sofa.

"Here, I hope it's okay. If I knew someone would come here, I would've gotten something Better!"

Natsuki quickly got up and began to eat it. She didn't want it to be something special. The fact that Yuri made it just for her made it special enough already. She was so happy to have met someone so caring.

They often got into little fights, Natsuki knee that. But isn't that what makes a good friend? She couldn't help but smile as she ate it all up.

"Yuri... Thank you so much." She said quietly, being different from her usual self. "No one's ever been this nice to me, you know." She mumbled.

Yuri sat down on the sofa next to Natsuki. "Don't worry Natsuki. That's what I'm here for!" The purple haired girl chirped.

Natsuki leant her head on Yuri's shoulder. Yuri smiled to herself and closed her eyes. She them leant her head against Natsuki's.

"I love you, Yuri." Natsuki silently said before nuzzling into Yuri's sweater. Yuri chuckled. "I love you too, Natsuki."

With that the two dozed off together, the snow still falling and resting on the windowsill.
