The stars drew her in
Like they were magnetic or something.
Maybe that's what caused her to feel distant from the people around her.
She was being taken away to kiss the galaxy and
Nobody seemed to notice,
But I did.
The stars were bittersweet medicine for her
In that she was getting closer to them
But farther away from the people around her.
She disappeared into the night
And I stared at the sky for months,
Knowing she was a star
Up there tonight.
I didn't know how to get over the
Distance between us now
So I studied the stars
Like she used to.
They drew me in,
Too.
I too was taken away,
Closer to the stars
But it wasn't the galaxy I was going to kiss.
