I feel the early dawn light stain itself into the room,
The white sheets feeling cool on my skin.
I stayed up all night,
Not because I have insomnia,
Or that I was playing Sims for twelve hours,
But because I want to watch the world.
That's something that seems to be hard to do during the day.
People think you're zoning out into the distance
And it is especially rude if someone is trying to talk.
But during the night,
The city is quiet,
And the stars are perpetually shining,
-Or so it seems-
The moon glows in the sky,
Hanging onto the night for awhile until
It drowns in sunlight.
The night is a perfect time to study the world.
Nobody is watching.
Although, I don't seem to understand why you wouldn't
Stay to watch the dazzling array of celestial bodies
Lighting up the night
But still offering darkness down below them.
Join me in the night and
We can watch the world together.
