Brainstorming

Losing all hope after multiple frantic tries, Richard initially surrenders to fate but soon an old friend contacts him for catching up on old times. They meet in a local café where discussions turn quickly serious when Richard mentions about his pursuing endeavour. The friend mentions about a mutual acquaintance of them, who might just be the person he is looking for - Prof. Donald Denver. A reputable faculty of MIT, vetted by his numerous colleagues, Donald had specialised in the war history of Vietnam. Richard reminiscences how he had once attended a lecture by the eminent professor as a part of his summer internship that had left him mesmerized. Soon Richard winds up on Denver's doorsteps where upon full disclosure Donald is surprised to hear about the recent developments. He had heard of countless such stories which turned out to be rumours, elaborate hoaxes and photoshopped pictures presented as "evidences" during his long tenure as a faculty. Richard proposes that he aims to find the truth about his father's disappearance all those years back in the rat-infested blood-soaked jungles. Denver initially dismisses Richard's proposition stating that it's quite impossible for someone to survive for so long, but he can't fully dismiss the evidences laying in front of him either. Disappointed, Richard leaves Denver's residence but in a last-ditch effort leaves all the collected evidence at Denver's disposal. Denver, a hard-boiled sceptic, goes through the journal meticulously over and over. As he comes across the mysterious symbol, he is reminded of a long forgotten trepidatious encounter he had hoped to bury along with his nightmares.
