- Why is this an issue?

Over the years, embracing anything other than heteronormative sexualities has gone from being condemned and illegalised to the authorisation of marriage certificates and increasing awareness. However, there are still problems with acceptance. Not only is homosexuality still illegal in certain countries, there are still difficulties in many 'accepting' places in regards to anything queer, such as phobia, discrimination and corrective raping. Not only that, but some orientations are practically unheard of or not considered as such, for example asexuality.

- What are we hoping to achieve?

As part of this project, we would like to bring people of all sexualities together to help spread awareness of the harmful effects of discrimination and abuse. Furthermore, we would like to increase visibility of lesser known orientations and perhaps help people come to terms with their own sexualities.

- How can this be done?

We are aware that it's hard to change people's opinions about anything, let alone sensitive topics. However, we feel that with the power of awesome and good hearts, we can make this task easier. Please help spread the love by sharing anything interesting or important that you find out by following this project - you never know, you might change a life for the better.

- Requirements to be a guest writer for this topic:

Anyone of any sexuality who is willing to discuss experiences and part with advice. Perhaps also people who aren't maybe that accepting could also get their point accross - although we are hoping to change this, everyone's opinions have reasons to be heard.

Note: Guest writers will be kept anonymous if they so wish. However, abusive and offensive language will not be tolerated {unless it is being used to make a point or describe an experience} and any accounts we deem as inappropriate will not be published.
