It's Only A Nightmare...
Just sleep.
The sun was starting to set over the horizon. Its warm colors spread over the landscape, giving it a final embrace before leaving for the night. Then there’s Bdubs.
He franticly flew back to his cozy home in the plains behind the half-mansion. He used way more rockets that was probably necessary but he didn’t care for that at the moment. All he could think of was his need to get into his brightly lit, comfortable room before the sun finished setting. He hated the dark and not just for the creatures that appear. He didn’t like to talk about it. Distant groans of zombies and rattling of skeletons made Bdubs panic and waste more rockets. It was so many that he could compete with the others when it came to wastefulness. He needed the speed.
Just as the sun set and the moon peeked over the mountains behind him, Bdubs reached the front doors of his house. Well, where his front doors were supposed to be. Without hesitation, he pulled out some doors he had put away and placed them where they belong. He sighed in relief once he was done and tiredly walked up the stairs. His eyelids were starting to shut but he was determined to make it to his bed before he could sleep.
Just dream.
He threw off his elytra and boot haphazardly to the side along with stashing the clutter that had become of his inventory into one of the chests. He could sort it in the morning anyways. Organization wasn’t on his list of priorities at the moment. Once his head hit the soft pillow, he immediately fell asleep.

Bdubs jolted awake. He was a sweating mess and gasped for air. He rubbed his eyes as he sat up in his bed. A peek out his window made it clear that it was still night time, much to his discomfort. He felt tired but much too awake to go back to sleep.
Just sleep.
The eerie quiet made him nervous. It felt… unnatural. Usually there was at least a zombie’s distant sounds of the occasional hiss of a spider but not then. It made a shiver travel through his spine as he pulled the blanket closer to himself. He hated the dark so much. He could tolerate the dimness of the Nether and the End for the lighting there was consistent. Not in the Overworld though.
Just dream.
A loud thumping outside made Bdubs jump in his skin. He gulped in nervousness and hesitantly got out of bed. His blanket remained clutched around him as he carefully walked down the stairs. He really just wanted to be back in his bed sleeping the night away rather than investigating a sound that could very well lead to him dying. Even though there was Respawning in the Season 7 world, he still didn’t want to die.
Just sleep. Just dream.
A dizzying headache began to form as he reached for the door knob. I shouldn’t be out here. Yet he stepped outside where a chilly breeze came to meet him. The silvery glow of the moonlight illuminated everything clearly, but even then, Bdubs couldn’t see what could have caused the loud thumping. No zombies were around as far as he could see, nor skeletons, spiders, or creepers. It was strange to say the least.
A sudden spike of pain caused him to cry out as he fell to his knees. His blanket that he had wrapped around his shoulders fell around him as he clutched his head. His headache that had started as something more so dull and annoying had become worse. Tears started clouding his vision as he tried to get up. It hurt so much. He wanted it to stop. His senses seemed to almost stop functioning as he barely managed to notice a greenish dot heading towards him. Darkness creeped at the edge of his vision and slowly embraced him making him fall to the side with a small thunk.

“You did this!”
“I don’t know what you’re even talking about!”
“Guys, stop fighting.”
“Stay out of this Beef!”
“Hey! Stop shouting and be reasonable.”
“No one asked for you to open your mouth. Now stay out of this you too. This is between us and us alone.”
“Fine then. Don’t come running to us if you need us. Let’s go Beef.”
“Now look what you did!”
“Look what I did? Take a damned look at what you did!”
“Well if you hadn’t started accusing me of whatever it is your complaining about we would have been perfectly fine. But no! It always has to go your way, doesn’t it?”
“If you had just listened to what I was trying to tell you we could have avoided all of this! Now we’ve hurt our friends and it will take a lot to get them back!”
“We’ve hurt them?! That’s all on you!”
“If you hadn’t been so full of yourself we could have worked something out. This just proves that you’re nothing but a senseless bitch!”
Both Hermits suddenly lunged at each other with their weapons in hand. Swords swung and each other held their own pretty well. Their fighting ended with both of them heavily wounded but still determined to kill the other.
A bright green light blinded them for a bit before they found themselves tied up with what seemed like green holographic rope. As weak as it may have seemed, it was actually strong enough to keep the two in place. They turned to see Xisuma walking up to them, one of his screens floating next to him. His usually warm, gently smiling eyes were replaced by a disappointed glare.
“What is the meaning of this fight?”
“He started it!”
“What the fuck do you mean?! You started complain-“
“Shut up!”
The tied up Hermits flinched at the admin’s yell. Never had anyone ever heard Xisuma angry before so they knew they had seriously messed up. Both looked down in shame. X sighed before beginning to speak again.
“I believe it’s time for you both to take a break.” he said as he typed commands into the floating screen. One of the Hermits looked more solemn while the other started to try and free himself of the ropes as tears threatened to escape his eyes.
“No, ple-“
BdoubleO100 left the game.
Docm77 left the game.

It’s only a nightmare,
“-suma, -be alright?”
“Yeah, -be. Once, -up we’ll know for sure.”
Bdubs groaned as he heard the voices. He still had a headache but it was significantly better than before. Slowly he opened his eyes and looked to the side where he heard them. Standing right there next to the bed he was in was Xisuma and Doc.
“Hey man, you alright? You hit yourself pretty hard.” Doc asked before noticing the faint tear stains on his cheeks. “Nightmare?”
All Bdubs could do was nod quietly as he pulled himself up into a sitting position. He noticed that he was back in his bedroom in his cozy house in the plains. He looked in the direction of his window to see the early morning light starting to seep into the room.
“-Bdubs. Earth to Bdubs. You there?”
“Huh?” Bdubs snapped out of his daze as he heard X speaking to him. “I-I’m okay. Just a little shaken up.”
“Looks like more than ‘just shaken up’ to me…” Doc remarked quietly.
“You know, if you need to talk to us, you can. We were worried about you. Doc called me over after he found you passed out on the door of your house.” X said, the worry seeping into his voice a bit.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Bdubs replied.
Doc came up to him and hugged him. To say that Bdubs was surprised would be a bit of an understatement. Doc was known to be a really cool, tough guy and probably the last person you’d expect to initiate a hug. Regardless, Bdubs hugged back and felt tears begin to build up in his eyes. This was what he needed at the moment. The comforting reassurement that even after their argument oh so long ago that plagued Bdubs in his nightmares, they were still friends. He let out a quiet sob and clutched Doc’s coat in his hands. He muttered something that Doc didn’t understand from how quiet it was.
“What was that?” he gently asked as he rubbed comforting circles on his back.
“I’m sorry. For… for being such a p-pain in the ass.” Bdubs said just the smallest bit louder.
“What happened in the past is in the past. Everything is okay now. I promise.”
Xisuma watched from the side as they hugged each other for a long time. They had never properly gotten a chance to talk about the incident and it had left some uncomfortable tension between them. At last, Xisuma, Doc, and Bdubs exited his house so they could go their ways. Xisuma had to help Keralis with a project, Doc had to keep working on his tower, and Bdubs needed to finish doing the interiors of another of his builds. He watched as the previously mentioned Hermits left and smiled to himself. For the first time in a really long time, he felt truly okay after a little nightmare.
And soon we’ll be set free.
