Day 46: Fixers, Claws & The Face of a Sweet Devil (pt.2)

This day was growing more and more restless, even worse than quite possibly the one when we had to deal with Gebura or even Binah because unlike said women, we had to deal with double, no, quadruple the amount of threats at the same time. After hearing the intercom turn on yet again to warn the entire facility of a group of 4 intruders arriving inside, I knew that it was only going to escalate from this point on.

The real question was how many times this cycle would repeat until this day would end. That, unfortunately, I could not find an answer to considering the sadistic tendencies of this facility.

My outfit now drenched with the stench of death, my fists tightened while my rifle loaded a new round into its barrel. With every agents ready to combat the opposing force, the information began to spread like wildfire everywhere. From there, it was a hunt to track down the invadors as fast as possible and neutralize them in a way to contain the damage dealt to the place as a whole.

In a situation like this, personal complaints such as the terrible smell of the previous enemy I had to eliminate covering my body was worthless to say the least. As I observed BongBong charging in the opposite direction of my intended target, I adjusted the mask around my face and calmed my beating heart before charging into the action.

Now to deal with this guy.

As I arrived at the scene, the Welfare department which was on the left side of the Central Command zone, I was immediately greeted by the sound of a gunshot echoing in the hallway like a bomb. Standing on the opposing side was one of the intruders, brandishing a pistol and relentlessly shooting at the employees standing in its path. A slight smirk across his face, he had no intention of letting anyone escape.

On the opposite side, as if to defy its presence, an agent that I've never seen before was fiercely deflecting the bullets flying at them with what semeed to be small spheres with a blue heart on them, reminding me of a certain abnormality contained here. Quickly shrugging that thought aside for now, I observed the employee quickly block the projectiles one by one before launching an attack in retaliation.

???: Is that all you got~?

A feminine voice came from the mentioned person and shivers ran along my body as I prepared my rifle, placing myself against the floor. The intonation was so close to Hava's that it was making me uncomfortable. It's hard to put it into words but I guess... the voice that seemed to match the same teasing personality of said girl was putting me on edge? I don't really know honestly.

Come on Y/N, now's not the time to be worrying about this.

Noticing my presence behind the woman, the unknown person took a step back while his smile remained unwavering. As I placed my finger on the trigger, I took a deep breath and peeked inside the scope just in time to see the barrel of the pistol aimed at me. With nothing more than a sliver of a second, I hurriedly pushed the buttstock of the rifle to make the sniper perform a rotation before grabbing both sides, using it as a makeshift shield to parry the bullet shot in my direction. Gritting my teeth, a sudden force struck the side of the ranged weapon and forcefully pushed it against my face.

With that "failed" attempt at hitting her, the agent in the room turned around and finally acknowledged my presence, long purple hair flowing behind her. Not letting this opportunity go to waste, the man carrying the suitcase quickly changed his target and opened fire at the back of the employee who previously blocked its projectile. His arm raised in her direction, the finger on the trigger was about to release the projectile, process which was interrupted by the sound of a rifle echoing in the hallway, my rifle specifically. Smoke coming from the barrel, I heaved a sigh and observed the pistol fly from his grasp and land a few feet away.

???: Hm? Well, look who's trying to pull dirty tricks, it won't work on little ol' me~!

Chuckling to herself, she summoned a trio of flying projectiles and sprinted ahead, leaving me shocked for a moment. Seemingly not minding the loss of his ranged method of attack, the intruder pulled out from his briefcase a dagger and copied the movements of the girl, ready to meet her head-on. With the the battle that would soon follow, I knew that my rifle would only cause trouble, shooting would risk accidentally hitting the employee in front of me...

...Reminding me of that magical bullet that I shot to kill all those workers.

Y/N: ...Damn it, I'm cursed to be worthless with a ranged weapon.

Standing up from my spot, I witnessed the clash between the both of them, the invader parrying with the blade in his hand one of the floating objects while blocking the others with the second item in his hands, brushing them aside like flies. As he took advantage of the small distance, he readied his blade and went for a singular stab. In response to that attempt, a sudden gust of wind formed around the blade as the right foot of the woman perfectly stopped the dagger in its track.

Her leg raised in the air, I saw from the side a grin form on her face as her eyes gained a red tint in them. She seemed to have everything under her control, making my presence completely unnecessary. What am I supposed to do? My only weapon would only get in the way and I certainly don't want to step in when she is showing no signs of difficulty.

Y/N: ...

???: Hey, are you gonna just stand there or something? Flabbergasted by my beauty or something~?

Jumping away from the enemy, the agent who looked able to deal with this ordeal on her own placed her hands in the pockets of her suit and glanced in my direction, revealing eyes the same color as her hair with no hint of crimson in them. Did I imagine that part?

Y/N: R-Right, I'll call for support.

???: Now now, don't you have a little faith in me? That hurts you know.

Wanting to respond to that remark, I quickly opened my mouth but then stopped myself when I noticed the eerie silence in the room. Hurriedly turning towards the one we were facing, he was no longer in the room, the pistol gone as well. At that realization, I could feel the colors slowly drain from my face in horror.

...And I bet that it turned even paler when the sound of a gunshot echoed before my body collapsed on the floor.

Switching back to focus mode, I was able to see the shape of the woman slide in front of me to protect me from a second assault. Gritting my teeth, I looked down at my left leg and saw a red stain begin to form through the suit, spreading on the floor quickly.

Y/N: Motherfuc-! Agh, it hurts like hell!

Slipping out a few swears under my breath, I placed my hands on the floor in an attempt to take a look at the situation. Standing on the opposite side of the hallway, the foe we were dealing with was pointing his handgun at us, his smirk starting to get on my nerves. Applying pressure on the wound to slow down the bleeding, I reached for the radio. During that time, the girl who has yet to name herself dashed forward to attack the culprit.

Dana: The Security and Training team are busy holding off one of the intruders, I'll contact the captain of the Welfare team to assist you.

Y/N: Please do... God, this hurts so much, what was in that damn bullet?

The pain was not stopping to my leg, it felt like my soul was shot by that projectile, my nerves screaming in agony while I was experiencing one of the most vivid injuries I've received in this place. Still, I slowly placed my unharmed leg on the ground and began to raise myself back on my feet, leaning against the wall, my rifle laying on the ground.

Unable to do anything in my current status, I gulped down my pride and observed the battle unfolding, trying to drown the pain away by ignoring it. Blood dripping down my suit, my breathing felt ragged and my heartbeat was racing, like I was at death's door. Well, I suppose with the pain that I'm experiencing, I would normally welcome it but this place does not grant such a blessing to its workers.

Y/N's mind: Where's that captain? How long is this gonna take for them to arrive?

As I pondered on that question, the agent fighting on her own against the man in a suit firmly shoved a kick right into his stomach, gaining advantage in the clash. Not willing to let that chance pass by her, she pursued with a triple strike from the spheres bearing the sign of the blue star, all releasing a wave of some sort upon touching their target.

...Catching my breath, I glanced over my shoulder and a cold sweat fell down my face, the troubles only getting worse. On the other side, a massive apparition in the shape of the pink entity that granted us the suit and weapon that I was carrying was slowly making its way closer, arboring a gray color instead of its usual one.

Y/N: We have a new target approaching!

Yelling to the one busy dealing with the cause of this mess in the first place, I dropped down to grab my weapon and laid down on the floor, deciding to deal with this one. Feeling the warmth of my own blood flowing on the sides of my leg, I looked inside the scope and loaded a bullet in the barrel.

My hands are shaking, no, my whole arms are. Badly injured and left in a situation where retreat was not an option, the stress was starting to pile up, stretching until my mind could no longer support it. To calm said tempest of emotions, I pressed the trigger, unleashing a bullet in the floating heart.

Not even something as addictive as adrenaline was able to quell my panicking body, the pain piercing through its numbing effect just to torture me. Preparing a second shot, I took aim yet again and opened fire, not minding the sounds coming from behind me, a battle that I could not help with.

...I say that but I my attacks seem to do not deal any damage to the creature facing me so even in my own battle I'm nothing more than a crippled deadweight. Gritting my teeth at the reality of the situation, my heartbeat was starting to get stronger, ringing in my eardrums to the point of deafening me.

What can I do in this situation? I can't even stand up properly, currently bleeding out while my soul feels like it's experiencing a thousand whips, begging me to stop almost. On top of all of that, my mind was processing the information received by my nerves even quicker due to a surge of adrenaline.

???: Watch out!

Y/N: ?!

A warning coming my way, my focus shattered while a second gunshot aimed at me echoed. Just like that, a second hole had formed in my heart. Shoving one of my sleeves in my mouth, I bit in it  and muffled a scream of pain, rolling over.

At the same time, the black heart riposted to the attacks by releasing a wave of dark hearts. Damaged from both sides, a switch snapped with the adrenaline rushing in stomping over the pain as a way to finally make it shut up.

I can do this, I can be useful, I can destroy everything in my path, I can kill everything who dares stand in my way, I can...

Y/N: I'll kill all of you!! Let your screams resonate in this cacophony of hell!!

Destroy everything in my path, I don't care, I don't care I DON'T CARE, I just want to see everything crumble into pieces, I can't take it anymore. This is too much to handle, I WON'T TOLERATE THIS!

...

...

His sanity breaking into pieces, the captain of the Central Command team released a scream that came out from the deepest abyss, so powerful, incomprehensible and guttural that even the one designated as the Pale Fixer remained frozen for a moment, the pressure of that scream enough to stop him in his track. Standing up, his wounds in both his left leg and stomach were visible but it seemed to bear no effect on him.

With that, the radio attached to the woman's suit beeped. Casually pressing it, she performed a perfect strike in the unwanted intruder face, continuing with with a rapid succession of attacks with her E.G.O weapon which was enough to make him fall.

Dana: Sorry but there's an emergency in your department, can you deal with it?

???: ...Let's just say that I'm already on the case.

Talk about a long delay to communicate the information. Rolling her eyes, she twirled around and dodged an incoming attack from the agent that went mad. Carrying the barrel of his rifle like a bat, he rushed past her and locked eyes with the man on the ground, immediately starting to bash his head with the other end of the gun.

Y/N: I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU!

With each hits, it felt like the ground was groaning under his weight, madness giving him strength beyond his usual point. Not holding anything back, his uncontrollable wrath was forming an aura of terror around himself.

Dana: Can you take care of the situation?

The radio still on, the voice of the Information team's captain came out of it. To that question, the woman chuckled to herself before adjusting her hair.

???: Sure thing, just put your faith in your helpful kouhai~!

Dana: ...I still have no idea what that word means but sure, I'll send reinforcements to deal with the remaining threats, cutting out.

Finally shutting down, she was now on her own to deal with the rampaging employee, escaping abnormality and Fixer, who finally shoved away the Central Command team employee away from him before pushing his body up with his hands. Trapped in the middle of it all, she merely heaved a little sigh of annoyance, her facial expression changing to a twisted one.

???: I'm not the one to usually be part of this but even I can make exceptions once in a while.

With that, she charged at the heavily bruised opponent, the one she was focused on at the very start. Swiftly dashing past the insane agent, she summoned the flying hearts yet again and launched them with no hesitation.

Quick on the uptake, her target used his momentum from when he jumped back to his feet to spin around himself, grazing the attacks directed at him with a constant expression of amusement. Arboring the same expression, his opponent planted her feet in the ground to stop her rush, making the coat on top of her suit flutter.

Y/N: No matter how we die, our existences are worth nothing, nothing will be lost once I kill all of you!!

Refusing to let himself be ignored, the panicking agent ran at her with his "melee" weapon in an attempt to break her skull open, a swing skillfully parried with her left arm. Following the attack was the Army in Black releasing a second wave of dark hearts from the ground, trying to invade her mind.

Circled from all sides, she switched her priorities and connected a perfect kick in the Central Command team's agent's face, snatching his weapon midair and turning back around to unleash a mighty swing at the Fixer, pushing him further in the corridor. Making a few twirls with her newly acquired weapon, the Welfare team's captain ran at him at full speed.

With no words needed, the mercenary pointed his pistol at her and pressed the trigger, releasing a bullet aiming at her head. Seeing the incoming shot shortening the distance between them, she replied with the rifle that she was carrying as an unconventional bat and swatted it away like it was a baseball.

???: How lucky of you, to get a free up close shot on this dependent kouhai, make sure to engrave it in your short and pathetic memory~!

With that, it was like a contract was signed, a contract granting the death of the Fixer no matter the outcome. Her eyes widening along with her grin, the girl with purple hair brought forth a new trio of flying spheres out of thin with a single motion of her hand before lowering said hand, causing one of the orbs to lower itself. Not even a glance given that floating weapon, she jumped off the ground and gracefully landed on top of her E.G.O. Time seemed to slow down as her foot pushed her forward, the pink sniper rifle raised as if it was a battleaxe.

[P]: ...Heh.

A single chuckle, a singular laugh came out from the man faced with the attack. It was his first and final word uttered. Dropping his briefcase, the intruder simply accepted his demise, after all he wouldn't be one named a "Fixer" if he couldn't recognize a situation where he was doomed to die.

...And this place was hell, he knew that when he took his first steps in this place. The others must have gotten the same impression, yet they all pushed onwards, ignoring that realization.

With that, his demise arrived in the form of a beautiful woman, a demon sending him back to nothingness.

...

As if preying on his moment of weakness, the briefcase violently opened and an appendage ressembling a tentacle shot towards the ceiling and piercing the skull of the Fixer, a headless body left behind once the limb retreated back in the box. Barely grazing the surprise attack, the agent from the Welfare team was stuck with her her face almost touching it. Quickly hiding in the depth of the accessory, a drop of sweat fell down her face and her posture returned to a more natural one.

However the battle was not completed and so she swiftly took a step aside, dodging a sudden fist. The man still ensnared by the devilish voice of madness followed her movement with erratic patterns, leaving not many possibilities to strike but plenty to dodge.

???: ...

Something that she noted was how the body seemed to react... oddly to say the least. It felt like it was pulled along by strings by something, a puppet yelling words of lunacy. Nevertheless, it didn't change that she was forced to confront of him if she wished to make him snap out of his current state.

Thing easier said than done considering the escaped abnormality behind them, slowly making its way closer. With quick calculations, she was soon forced to acknowledge that if she kept being on the defensive, she would simply leave herself open to Army in Black's relentless waves, forcing her hand.

The abnormality needed to go before dealing with the employee.

Y/N: The cycle never ends, the agony and pain inflicted will forever remain a scar on the accursed land of the city, the people does not deserve forgiveness for their horrible deeds!

With a precision almost reaching the realm of clairvoyance, the insane agent instantly blocked her path aiming for her target. Sadly for him though, the one he tried to block was armed, unlike him and so, the butt of his own rifle in his face was all he gained from doing so. The path cleared, the sane captain went for a burst of attacks with her own weapon. Shrugging each and every one of her attacks but not the extend of nullifying it, simply non respondent to them.

One, two, the number of shots she took on the floating entity could no longer be counted with her fingers, all while juggling with the ticking bomb that the panicked worker was and with each attacks, like before, Army did not react, simply retaliating once in a while with its massive wave of black hearts filling the room.

???: Hm, this is getting annoying, maybe I should have accepted the help.

Her pride stopping her from using her radio, she clicked her tongue in annoyance at the situation, ducking under yet another fist and responding with a smack of the "bat" that she was holding, slowly restoring his sanity through a rather rough method. However, no matter how many times she did so, it would amount of nothing if Army in Black was still alive, a monster capable of reverting her progress with its mental attacks.

Then, as if heeding her silent complaint, a blue portal formed on the other side of the room with the sound of something charging up echoing. Not even a second later, a massive bullet emerged from it, cutting through the hallway in a straight line and piercing everything in its path, including the employees.

Y/N: ...The bullet that never misses its target, the bullet that I shot that killed all those people.

Ignoring his mumbles, the woman turned in the direction of the abnormality and unlike the employee who shrugged a literal bullet going through their body, the black heart crumbled before turning into mist and smoke, defeated. The one source of danger was now the rampaging lunatic.

???: Time to do my job. Now, let this kind kouhai of yours bring you back to shape~!

Although came out cute, her expression was everything but that, the gaze of a demon setting its eyes on its meal. Her hands tightening around the barrel of the ranged weapon that she was still holding, her grin no longer hid her emotions, he rfeet slowly marching towards the one in need of a beatdown.

What occured after was... something that one would rather not know. Lucky for Y/N, the E.G.O used for said beatdown is known for dealing mental damage rather than physical one so no matter how hard the swings were, no matter how violent the wielder was and no matter how sadistic they were with their target, the only damage it could do was mental, leaving no scar on the body.

A blessing that the captain of the Central Command team had fallen into madness or else he would have after what happened in that hallway.

...

Y/N: Ow, I feel a headache.

Slowly waking up from what felt like a long slumber, I groaned to myself while my eyes adjusted to the sudden light. Standing up from my spot, I soon recognized the corridor of the Welfare department, except lacking the escaped abnormality and the humanoid intruder.

What happened? I don't remember and when I try to access said memories, I immediately get assaulted by a terrible migraine.

???: You're finally back.

Y/N: ...Huh?

Turning my head slightly, the woman that I fought with flashed a smile in my direction, walking around in order to get behind my back.

Y/N: What happened? Did I pass out? Oh no, not again, I told myself that I couldn't-

???: Don't worry, everything was dealt with, no issue here~

Hm, that same teasing tone, just like Hava's.

Y/N: Well...

Come to think of it, I do remember calling for assistance and Dana answering my call by sending the captain of the Welfare team for support.

Y/N: I don't see the Welfare captain, did they leave already?

???: Well, that's a silly question, you're looking at them right now!

With not even a second to let me express my surprise, the girl winked in my direction and reached her hand to help me get back on my feet. Gladly taking that offer, I pulled myself back on my feet and she continued, finally introducing herself now that the battle was completed.

???: I am your perfect maiden that will heal both your broken body and soul, the one kouhai that you can always rely on, the one and only BB at your service~!

Y/N: ...BB? Is that a nickname or is it your real name?

BB: Wanna take a guess?

I shook my head back at her and quickly spotted my rifle laying on the ground next to my feet while doing so. I took a hold of it and noticed some strange marks around the buttstock. Deciding to not worry about that for now, I hurriedly placed it around my body and faced the Welfare team's captain in the eyes.

Y/N: Well, thanks for the help, sorry that I couldn't do much.

After saying those words to her, a rather ominous laugh came out from her lips, a shiver going throughout my entire being. Slowly placing her hands on her hips in a graceful manner, her expression darkened.

BB: Well, you did leave all the work to this poor little girl, I sure deserve a little reward, right?

Y/N: I... huh, I don't really know what you want.

Plus, aren't we still dealing with an emergency? I know that constant alarm blaring through the intercom quickly became nothing but a source of noise in the background but it doesn't change the fact that it's there for a reason, something is still going on.

BB: I recognize that look on your face... too well even.

Just like that, her previous urges vanished and she heaved a sigh to herself. Following that, she crossed her arms and fell silent. With not much to say back, I awkwardly remained still, taking in my surroundings.

...Is that a headless body on the floor? Wait, I recognize that suit, it's that unknown guy with the pistol. Thinking about what could have caused him to lose his head with not even a blood splatter anywhere was enough to make my body freeze for a second.

BB: This place works in ways that differ from the rest.

Yea, I learned that a long time ago. Just as I was about to return to the Central Command team however, the girl with purple hair called my name. Slowly turning around to face her, I observed her slowly marching closer before placing one of her hands on my shoulder.

Y/N: Huh, is something wrong?

Looking into my eyes, her purple eyes a rather cold expression, something completely different from her usually devilish attitude. Then, she finally opened her mouth to whisper words that made my heart skip a beat.

BB: Do you want to live?

Y/N: ...Uh, yes?

Of course I would take that option, what kind of person would I be if I decided to give up now after everything I've endured? Not like it matters anyway, this place would simply rewind itself once more, like always. Seemingly pleased by my answer, a smile formed on her face.

BB: Then I suggest you don't resist~!

With that, she pushed me on the floor, just after she helped me stand back on my feet. Surprised by that sudden action, I could feel my back land against the floor with a loud thud. As I looked back to the one responsible for this, my eyes briefly caught the glimpse of something dashing through the hallway, grabbing the Welfare captain along with it. The room filled with a sudden wind, the loud noise of the wall breaking echoed afterwards

Y/N: ?!

Unable to utter a world through the chaos, I regained my position and readied my weapon. Standing on the other side, next to barely conscious agent was a being that immediately sent terror in my whole being, as if it was a concept designed to bring fear into everyone who witnesses it. Wearing a black suit, its head that was covered by a massive mask turned to meet my eyes while the clicking noises that seemed to originate from a massive hand with sharp nails were grating against my own mind, bringing terrible headaches.

Whatever it was, my mind instinctively knew one thing: that today's ordeal would end if this being were to be defeated. This was the peak of this terrible, nightmarish day.

Intercom: Warning, [C] detected, may the gods bless you for they shall not.

With that grim message entering my ears, a bead of sweat fell down my face as I pointed the barrel of my rifle in the new opponent's direction. To that, it only responded by calmly marching closer, pulling its claw-like arm behind in an attempt to thrust it in the direction of my chest. The process took a mere second but the result was instantaneous, a curtain of crimson flooding my sight and my body launched on the ground like a discarded doll, my bones feeling like they were struck with actual swords.

Yet, I clenched my fists and pushed myself back on my feet, refusing to let myself drop dead after a single attack. After everything that occured in this forsaken prison, from facing monsters to fighting an Arbiter and the Red Mist, it wasn't gonna be some random guy with a claw that will be the end of me, I refuse to accept that possibility. So come on, stop acting like a wuss and stand up for god sake!

Y/N: May the gods bless me indeed.

Uttering the same words that were pronounced by the intercom, I opened fire on the tall entity looming over me. The bullet swiftly pierced through the suit, completely ignored by the target who simply readied a second strike. Crouching slighty, it signaled the start of its retalation and as I was about to reply with a quick defense, a force made contact with my stomach and pushed me away, effectively making dodge the charge. Confused by what just happened, I looked down and saw a small sphere floating, the same sphere controlled by the captain of the Welfare team.

BB: Heh, that one is definitely leaving a bruise.

Standing on the other side of the hallway, the girl who was previously knocked out from a sudden attack was back on her feet, albeit clutching her own stomach with a pained smile. However, that assistance only bought a few seconds, the one named [C] already prepared to attack.

At this rate, even the most oblivious person in the world would have to acknowledge the truth: death was circling our necks like a rope, ready to snap at any moment. We were struggling just by attempting to defend against the relentless assault of attacks aimed at us while the person placing us in this position had the entirety of its strength to use. Already weakened by fighting the previous assailants, my stamina was all over the place to say the least, going up and down rapidly with the adrenaline creating the mentioned "ups".

[C]: Infraction, elimination in progress.

Talking to itself like a lunatic, the masked enemy closed its fist, injecting what seemed to be a syringe containing a blue liquid into its body. Following that, it calmly raised its arm in the arm, ignoring our presence in the room in order to focus on something. Confused by the sight but not about to let my guard down, I aimed my rifle and opened fire but just like before, the second bullet went unnoticed.

Y/N: ...Wait, what is that?

Appearing in front of the mighty foe in front of me seemed to be blue circles with different pictures and colors in them, all slowly starting to appear one by one. Bewildered by what was going on, my mind almost didn't catch the sound of the door behind me opening. Rushing inside was the one wearing Da Capo.

Hava: We have to stop it from finishing this!

Y/N: H-Huh?

Taken aback by her sudden voice, my surprise only grew stronger when the doors behind opened once more to not reveal one but around 30 agents, all wearing E.G.O suits and weapons. The ranged employees quickly opening fire, the ones with melee attacks charged at the tall humanoid. Seeing so many employees grouped together to gang up on one target felt surreal for some reason, leaving me speechless for a moment.

Elis: I-It's a Claw, can we really win?!

Daniel: We will, like always!

In the mix though, I could instantly recognize the fluttering hair belonging to Alter Ego. Wiedling her sword, she looked like a leader guiding the agents with melee weapons. Seeing her face what seemed to be the cause of some stress in some of the employees with certitude, I couldn't afford to slack off, I don't want to leave the job all on her and so, I joined the group's effort.

Quickly, with the assistance of every agents gathered in the room, the shape of the one facing the brunt of this culmination of attacks began to slump over, falling to its knees. It was so sudden that I thought for a moment that victory was ours, hell, even some of the other workers thought the same thing but some others continued their attacks, revealing that the one struck was still breathing, still conscious.

Alter Ego: Come on everyone we can do this!

Boosting the morale of everyone in the room, the girl wearing the suit of the black forest brandished her sword and repeatedly swung it at [C] or "Claw" as Elis called it before. The name seemed familiar to me but now was not the time to worry about such pointless thing, I could ponder on that feeling later.

However, as I cleared my mind, the masked entity began to rise with a sudden sharpness. Something was wrong, I could tell at a glance, something changed. My eyes widening, I watched as it injected itself with all 3 syringes in its body at once. Shivers going down my spine, it felt like a target had been placed on me.

Daniel: It's gonna attack-!

Yelling a warning to everyone in the room, its worth instantly became nothing by a single noise. In the back along with the ranged agents was the one woman with long black hair and red eyes that I've stumbled into at the start of the day. Swinging down that staff of hers, a massive slash flew across the entire room like nothing and vanished, time freezing for a single moment.

...Then, a thud. Dropped on the ground was a cleanly removed arm with the now empty injections, blood starting to come out of it. Standing beside it, the being that was about to go on the offensive immediately lost its will to do, falling back on its knees as if running out of power. With one final breath, the intruder collapsed for good on the ground, one arm missing.

Y/N: ...

I couldn't say anything, the scene was so shocking that my brain couldn't process it in time. Was it over? Just like that? With a single swing? Surely it couldn't be that simple, right? There has to be some sort of trick, right?

Alter Ego: Did... Did we win?

Hava: ...I don't know.

Gulping down my worries, I tried to speak up but a wave of dread overcame me. Looking at my surroundings, darkness began to fill the room and the employees expressed confusion and fear. In that chaos, the one who gave me her love turned around to face me and ran in my direction, panic in her eyes. Unsure about what was going on, I reached for her as well.

Yet, no matter how fast we were, the world collapsed around us just as we were about to touch each other, my hand only touching nothingness. Left standing in a void, my hand remained motionless and stuck in the air, forever trying to reach for Alter Ego's.

...It was the end of the day. The conditions needed for it to end met, the world simply faded away like a dream, moving on to the next one with no rest between them. However, before this could happen, another encounter would have to occur in this void.

Just like before the start of this day, she was waiting for him.

(Sorry if you wanted a big battle against the Claw but for some reason Wattpad starts to lag like hell once I go past the 4000 words and it was becoming unbearable so I had to cut it short. Sorry once more for all of you waiting for that fight.)
