Day 40: The Red Mist Emerges(pt.3)
Facing those who defied her until now, the mask covering her face was breaking into pieces. Ignoring that clear sign of degradation, the woman in crimson extended her arms and out of thin air, manifested a black hammer with many faces on it along with a large mouth while her second hand took hold of a bandaged sword that Alter Ego was already holding. Ready to fight once more, she charged at Nothing There at full speed, not ignoring the most dangerous person in the room.
Nothing There: Hello!
Expecting her sudden charge, the creature kneeled down and released a projectile from its hand, going through her body at a fast speed before crashing into the wall behind. However, it did not stop the Sephirah, who swung down the hammer that she was carrying. Upon striking the floor, the newly created E.G.O weapon released a wave of... rather grotesque matter all around it and keeping the abnormality stuck in place, trapped in the brownish substance created from the large mouth on it. Shrugging off the lock placed onto it, the abnormality casually fought back like usual with its mace. Not minding the hits received, the Red Mist then prepared a second swing and caused the whole room to vibrate in fright after the sound of the hammer landing on the floor echoed, a shockwave of terror spreading around the landing point.
Following with rapid slashes, she was not intending to let the thing who defeated her twice as of now get her a third time. Keeping her hammer down in order to maintain the sludge around the Aleph's feet, she reached behind herself and formed a spear that she prepared to launch. However, the loud sound of someone clashing with it snapped her out of her trance. Looking behind herself, she witnessed Y/N kicking the E.G.O away, a stern expression held even though he was nothing more than an agonizing mess a few minutes ago.
All agents seemed to have found a common solution if they wanted to survive: keep the humanoid beast alive for as long as possible. With that in mind, All of them equipped with melee weapons charged ahead, Alter Ego chopping off the bits of filth keeping the abnormality stuck in place while Hava stood in between it and the AI, her smile reflecting in the red light coming through the cracks of her mask. Coming back from that small shock, she performed a full spin and kicked the man in the stomach, only to be met with the magical girl forming a barrier with her magic, bouncing off her attack.
QoH: We can do this everyone, for the sake of justice!
Gebura: Judgement.
Readying her second weapon a second time, she formed a perfectly horizontal cut in the air, releasing a wave of pale energy ahead of herself. Hava, the one standing at the front, widened her eyes slightly, knowing that her suit was weak against that type of damage. Ducking under it, the second girl beside Nothing There blocked the hit with her body and groaned to herself before doing a quick 180 and breaking apart the last bit chaining the monster down. Free at last, it released a dominating scream and jumped at the woman with long red hair, one of its arms shifting into a spear.
Countering the assault, she turned her back to the man being protected by the Queen of Hatred. Tightening his fists, he raised one and launched a singular blow at the back of her head. He needed to take advantage of the situation while she was busy and with a loud yell, he ordered the remaining clerks to keep shooting. Forming a line along with BongBong and Daniel, they soon did so and the sounds of gunfires resonated like a melody that one would hear in a nightmare, which wouldn't be far from the truth inside this facility.
Daniel: She isn't reacting to our attacks.
Hava: Keep going, we'll get her eventually!
Sliding away, she suddenly used her right leg, which was resting on top of her left one during her slide on the floor, to brake and then jumped back onto her feet after a small spin in the air. Landing down, her hair flew all around her, briefly revealing the eye hidden behind the hair going down a side of her face. A glance given to the enemy that they were confronting, she adjusted her white gloves and finally stepped back into the circle of death around the duo currently battling.
Arriving near them, she calmly attacked the robot from the side with her trusty weapon, the sparks flying in many directions after the hit landed. Sensing the attack she received, Gebura shifted her gaze away from the tall abomination and retaliated with her sword, knowing that she was weak to the type of damage it dealt.
...
While the battle was unfolding, someone, far away from the madness but with still his gaze aimed towards it began making a quick scan of the facility with the camera given to his disposal. The day needed to keep going, he needed to push through and reach the end. Sitting in his chair, his attention could not be broken away from the screen.
Angela: ...
The AI, standing behind him, silently observed as well, unable to do anything in this current state. Although it was her duty to assist the man in front of her if he needed her, she still wished to see a few losses, not like they mattered much in the grand scheme of things and especially with what was going on in this place. Hearing lines that she knew would arrive in the same order, her closed eyes were kept on the camera feed.
Manager: ...
Placing a hand under his chin, he pondered while spectating the sight, his cold gaze unwavering. Unlike the previous personality he had in the first days, he was now silent most of the time, silent with quick and sharp decisions. Of course, the AI behind him had something to do with that, ordered to do so.
The bullets ready, the one supervising the suppression of the Sephirah of the Disciplinary team was not in the least worried, confident in the talent of his employees. Moving the screen further down, he took a look at the fallen god trapped alongside them in this place, a blue hue flickering around its containment chamber. Near its door, a lone employee was standing by the door, the one who calmed the captain of the Security team about the status of Whitenight.
Manager: Nothing There at 2/3, employees optimal, all bullets standing by.
Angela: ...
Not saying a word, she stayed concentrated on the one who caused this mess alongside the manager, both culprits who caused the woman to break. Barely able to stand his grounds against the Color, he seemed more like a practice dummy for her than an actual human but after everything she saw, it was not far from the truth.
After all, they're all just humans.
...
Alter Ego: Gh... Her attacks are too strong, how is she able to keep fighting after so much damage?
Parrying an incoming hit, a bead of sweat formed on her forehead while her hair gained territory in the air, floating in many directions. Chased around by the robot capable of wielding the full power of the E.G.Os, she was desperately attempting to push her off but to no avail. Nothing There was still fully concentrated on the crimson person inside the department and followed after her.
Quickly spinning around herself, she easily created one of the horrid spears from within the palm of her hand and tossed it at the abnormality making grounds towards her, perfectly impaling it in the chest before propulsing it into the wall, nailed to it. All of that happening during her spin, she resumed her chase once she was back to her original angle, jumping at her target.
Y/N: Watch out!
Warning her of the incoming danger, he charged at them with Gold Rush prepared, yet not fast enough. Her gaze still focused on the Sephirah, Alter Ego took a more defensive pose and anticipated the incoming offense with her bandaged blade. At the point of clash, she took hold of the other side of her weapon and brandished it like a shield, countering the relentless attacks that she would have been forced to take.
Alter Ego: ...
Gritting her teeth, she witnessed her opponent slamming her terrifying hammer down at the ground, chaining her in place with its disgusting sludge. At that point, the captain stepped closer and unleashed what would have been a fatal punch it if wasn't for the fact that he was fighting one of the strongest beings residing inside the facility. Even in her weakened state, the blow caused close to no damage and only made her attention shift to him, a new target locked into her mind.
Y/N: ...
His brain piecing together that he was now in deep trouble, he bolted to the side with his adrenaline pushing him forward. Then, her voice reached his ears before an sharp object did.
Gebura: Heaven.
Impaled by the spear from the back, his body felt light to the point that he feared to be taken away by the wind, not like it would have mattered in his current status. Landing a few meters away, he rolled around and finally stopped once the E.G.O stabbed into him blocked his trajectory.
Daniel: Crap, this is bad.
Watching the scene with fright, the stress was beginning to accumulate for the employees around the Red Mist, who seemed impossible to stop. One of the clerks from the Training team then unleashed a scream of fright and began running in a panic, executed by a clean hit coming from the robot. All in unison, the remaining clerks from the department collapsed into a maddening cacophony of yells, begging to be free from this place.
QoH: ...
At that sight of so many people dying left and right, the magical girl's confident smile dwindled down while one of her hands were twitching. Silently, she gritted her teeth before taking hold of her weapon, letting out a few chuckles to herself.
QoH: I'm supposed to be the hero that saves everyone... so why is everyone still dying? Am I not strong enough?
Zeta19: ?
Seeing her speak to herself, the clerk from the Extraction department quickly understood what was going down and with no hesitation, readied his gloves before charging at the Waw abnormality. With a stern focus, he swung a perfect punch at the side of her face, causing a surge of electricty to form in the air around it.
QoH: ...?
Dropping down to her knees from the sudden blow, she averted her eyes to the man who she thought was her ally, now clutching his hands with something more than just dislike. It was beyond hate, he was scorning her with his gaze.
Zeta19: If you plan on throwing the towel, I'll give a reason to change your mind. Now get up, you got a job to do!
Assuming the role of the "villain" in her delusion, he kicked her in the legs before pointing the war happening further away. His stance unmoved, he was pratically ordering her around like a general directing his troops.
With a frown, she gathered her spirits and stood up, holding onto her staff while responding back to his provocation with a deadly glare. The one who did close to nothing in the grand scheme of things bossing her around? She couldn't accept that, she simply couldn't.
Zeta19: We don't need deadweights in here, get your act together.
Of course, he knew that he was worse than her in terms of assistance due to his lack of E.G.O but unlike her, he wasn't gonna turn on them just because of a fit. He knew that and that was something that he had above her. Since he was barely noticeable, he was able to deal with a troublemaker without the rogue AI seeing it.
QoH: I am a hero of justice, I have to do my best.
Zeta19: ...
Putting his hands behind his back, he pointed at the scene near them with his chin, silently telling her to return to the field. With no hesitation, she did so and left the man on his own. With no way to combat the Sephirah, he could only support them in a way that he knows. Resuming his duties, he crouched near one of the bodies and began dragging it away, making sure that none of the agents tripped on them.
Zeta19: I guess being a clerk gives me a good excuse to not deal with any of this bullshit.
Instead, he could just focus on cleaning the floor and walls of any bloodstains and dragging the cause of said stains away, where they would be disposed. Keeping his work constant, his attention to the battle that was happening grew distant, more worried about the amount of work he will have to do once the day was over, forced to clean the facility alongside the surviving clerks.
One by one, the deaths kept piling before turning into a mountain. Looking at all of them, the man with no special armor or suit audibly sighed before shrugging it away. Outside of the main room, he placed his hands on his hips and felt a vibration from inside the room, beyond the closed door behind him. Confused, he turned around and tried to open them but a voice echoed from the others side.
Y/N: She's using the portals again, we have to find her quick!
Zeta19: What the hell are they talking about?
Curiosity getting the better of him, he walked back inside and immediately noted the lack of a certain Color, the employees scurrying around in an attempt to reach for the exits. Daniel ran past him with a few sweats falling down from his face while the others were gathered together in order to hold Nothing There in place, trying to attack them now that the danger was gone.
Zeta19: ...
Knowing that the situation could fall between their fingers, he needed to do something in order to minimize the casualties and so, with his courage gathered in his body in the form of adrenaline, he placed his thumb and index in his mouth and loudly whistled at the rampaging creature. Catching interest to the noise, it turned around and met his gaze.
Nothing There: Hello.
Zeta19: Why don't you focus on someone more easy to kill?
He responded with a cold tone, his hands ready for battle. Dropping its assault, the abnormality slowly made its way to the clerk and quickly turned one of his hands into a massive scythe. A bead of sweat falling down from his face, he barely dodged the incoming hit and tried his best to keep the attention of the beast without a purpose.
Meanwhile, the captain of the Central Command team was leaning against the door leading outside of the main room, radio on after he asked the location of Gebura. Soon after, a panicked voice made it through the white noise.
???: Big Bird is out, someone suppress him now!
Y/N: What's going on, report now!
Alter Ego: Anyone on the radio, can someone locate Gebura?
On her side, she also tried to get the information out of the remaining employees but everything was falling into pieces. The abnormalities were starting to break out and the workforce was growing weaker with each phase, they would not be able to push through at this point. Both of them not receiving the answer they wished for, they glanced back at the room where Nothing There was and saw the lone clerk running on top of desks in order to get away from it.
Hava: I'll go help.
Running back inside, she aimed for the red monstrosity and gave more time for the duo to obtain the location of their target. In the distance, gunshots echoed in the hallways, followed screams of war.
???: Gebura located in the Welfare department. I repeat, Welf- Watch out!
On the device, the one talking warned one of their colleagues while the loud noise of a gun being fired came out of it. Taken aback by the loud disturbance, the man blocked one of his ears and winced for a second. On the other side, a voice that he recognized followed after the disturbance.
Red: I'll kill all of you!
Y/N: ...Looks like we got our next destination.
Turning around, Alter Ego yelled at the duo holding off Nothing There, informing them of the next step to take. Both of them nodding back, they ran to the second exit with the Aleph on their track. On their side, the last duo left inside exchanged a mere gaze and made haste to the only way down to the middle floor.
Y/N: Would have been much better if they placed elevators on the sides instead of just one in the middle!
Alter Ego: We... huff, can complain... my legs hurt so much from all this running.
Gritting her teeth, she endured the soreness in her limbs and forced herself to keep going. The last thing she wanted right now was to be a dead weight in this emergency and with the lack of many employees right now, everyone alive had to perform their best to compensate the losses.
Jumping down the stairs instead of waiting for the lift, they soon arrived to the Central Command team and saw many of the clerks remaining gathered and shooting in a general direction to a certain abnormality. Almost completely hidden in the darkness of the department, Big Bird was slowly making its way closer to the group of workers.
Alter Ego: Big Bird located, engaging suppression!
Readying her sword, she marched closer but a large tremor went through the facility, making everyone inside lose their stability for a second. Confused by that sudden event, that bewilderment melted away like ice in summer once a source of light illuminated the room.
A long time ago, in a warm and dense forest lived three happy birds.
Y/N: ...
The source of light was emanating from a dark and red gate that instantly broke the formation of all office workers. All yelling in unison, they began to spread around in a panic. While most of their words were jumbled up, one managed to scream a full sentence.
Clerk: We're all going to die!!! The monster is coming!!
Y/N: Forget about Big Bird, we need to stop Gebura.
Pressing Alter Ego, the captain ran past the roaming abnormality and went through the door at the end of the corridor, connecting directly to the Welfare department. All around, employees were losing confidence and muttering prayers to themselves, an instinctual fear plaguing their minds.
Big Bird, with its many eyes, watched over the forest to seek trepassers. Big Bird's eyes can see very far, and things we can't see.
Alter Ego: This is happening again... this isn't gonna end well.
Whispering to herself, she slid between the employees that ran in the opposing direction and followed the man at the front. With his fists out, he was running at a much faster pace, forcing her to catch up at the cost of her own energy. However, it would pay off if they could stop the madness before it escalated to a level beyond their control.
Y/N: Welfare department, here we are!
Busting through the door of the main room of the mentioned team, he was greeted by the figure of the Sephirah on the loose and many victims of her meltdown. Standing still, she watched longly at the employee and released from her hand a spear before throwing it at his direction. Not wanting to go through that experience a second time, he hurriedly jumped out of the way and stood up quickly.
Gebura: You can't defeat me, nobody can with this body.
Y/N: ...Doesn't hurt to try though.
Running at her, he closed his borrowed gloves and released a solid punch into her stomach. Not even flinching at the hit, she calmly raised the bandaged sword she carried and prepared a swing, only for that preparation to go in vain once the girl following him stepped in by blocking the blow.
Gebura: You... Do not get in my way, nuisance!
Alter Ego: Angela did it first, get original.
With a solemn tone, she parried a second strike with her own weapon and pressed onwards, managing to push the AI away from the one wearing the Army's suit through sheer luck. Recovering from the recoil of his own hit, Y/N frowned at the target of the suppression and charged closer for a second round.
Long Bird weighed the sins of creatures that enter the forest to keep peace. Long Bird's scales could measure every sins, and were fair and just.
Y/N: We're running out of time.
Mumbling to nobody in particular, he soon clashed with the Color standing firmly on her feet, waiting for his arrival. Upon stepping over an invisible line, the hammer that she held was slammed down and a piercing shriek echoed all around. Taken aback by the intensity of the noise, the fighter staggered away and barely touched his opponent with his weapons.
Gebura: Give up, the end awaiting us is not worth the sacrifices.
Y/N: ...
A drop of sweat falling down from his faces, the mention of the end of this journey brought concern to his mind. What WAS at the end? None of them knew, none of them could predict it, it was a mystery that would remain one until they all reached the final day. From their point of view, any day could be the last one, all of them were unaware of when they would pass the finish line, they could only hope that it was close.
Y/N's mind: No, I can't be afraid after all this.
Bracing himself, he confronted the troublemaker amidst the chaos overtaking the facility.
Y/N: At this point, the release of death sounds like a better outcome than staying here. I don't care about the ending, as long as I get to see it, I'll be happy.
Gebura: Then what? Do you really think that you can protect everyone you care about in your state?
Alter Ego: Why does one have to be the sole protector?
Stepping closer, she asked the robot with a calm voice.
Alter Ego: If one isn't enough to protect everyone then a second person will help. If they aren't enough then a third one will follow. The will to protect each other's back, this is the strength that pushed us to this point, and is also the strength that will defeat you!
Gebura: Weak, the numbers don't make the strength, not in this world!
Reaching for the girl, the powerful combatant was suddenly punched in the back. Diverting her attention to the origin of said hit, she saw the man looking back at her with a stern expression, clearly stressed by the situation. Yet at the same time, the words uttered soothed his mind, it was a small spark of encouragement.
Y/N: Winners write history, we'll see which view is the last standing.
With no hesitation, he swiftly stepped away and perfectly dodged an attack aimed at him. Out of her distance, Gebura crouched slightly and readied herself for a charge with her own sword. Her focus fully recovered, both of her hands took hold of the grip and-
Alter Ego: Wrong target!
...Received a strike to the back of the head. Once more turning around, she retaliated with a mighty kick to her attacker. Instead of it hitting the body of the girl trying to defy her, she was surprised to feel the sturdiness of the hammer she locked onto the floor when she unleashed that scream.
Little Bird decided to punish bad creatures with his beak.
Alter Ego: ...
Gritting her teeth, she held onto the massive E.G.O weapon before shifting its weight around, brandishing it like a broadsword. Following its motion, her body flew with it and the large mouth on the front side of the weapon released a wave of vomit onto the foe in crimson, staining her red color with its filth.
In chaotic cries of fear, somebody shouted. "It's the monster! Big terrible monster lives in the dark, black forest!"
In the distance, a roar reverberated throughout the whole establishment, making the walls quiver in fear at the impending doom that finally arrived. Struggling to keep their own bodies in check once the noise reached them, the lovers felt their will breaking down, knowing what just arrived. All the lights turning off, the only thing they could see was the red light coming from the Red Mist's mask.
Gebura: I'll destroy everything, all of you!
Then, a whistle followed her words, coming from the darkness. All distracted by said noise, they turned their heads and noticed a figure faintly standing out from the homogeneous color covering the entirety of the room.
Hava: Yet you only seem to be able to kill poor defenseless office workers, what a pathetic Color you are.
Y/N: Hava!
Nothing There: Hello!
Rushing out of the shadow, the Aleph that the woman transported alongside her shot the threat in the room and stepped closer, clashing with her. Caught offguard by its sudden appearance, she parried the following hit with the bandaged sword and took hold of her hammer, now on the ground after Alter Ego used it.
Y/N: I can't see anything.
Alter Ego: We need to evacuate, that monster arrived!
Hava: *Sigh* Of all days, it had to be today. Both of you, support Nothing There, I'll go get rid of that beast with the other employees.
Alter Ego: H-How?!
To that, she simply gave a thumbs up along with her usual smile.
Hava: Believe in your trusty Hava~!
Y/N: Now's not the time for jokes!
Nonetheless, she departed and left the both of them to supervise the duel between the abnormality and one that was once a human. Not letting a breathing room to any of them, the fighters kept charging at each other's throat in an attempt to finish off their opponent, to no success.
Alter Ego: She said to support Nothing There but... how?
Y/N: No idea, I guess not getting in the way?
They both shrugged in unison and turned at the direction of the noises created with each attacks performed by the other 2. Far away, the sound of a bell echoed and then a wave surged through the facility, affecting everyone inside. Receiving a sudden hit, the employees stood up and looked around with interrogation marks floating above their heads.
Gebura: Die once and for all!
Nothing There: Miss Gebura! Miss Gebura... Bad!
Adding words together from different sentences that it must have heard while contained, it tried to communicate like a normal person while still focusing on the battle it was engaged into. Enraged once her name was called by that hideous monster facing her, she released a combo with both her weapons. At the point, the agents' sight became adjusted and they rapidly noticed that everything was going bad.
Y/N: Time to take a chill pill there!
Throwing a perfectly aimed fist with Gold Rush, he forced the woman away from the abnormality, currently trapped within the sludge formed with the black E.G.O that she was swinging around. Dealing close to no damage to her, a bead of sweat fell from the employee's forehead while the mask Red gave him a while back began to slip. Adjusting it, he glanced at Alter Ego and saw her doing the role of a janitor, removing the stains of dark matter around Nothing There.
Gebura: Smile.
Like always, once her attention was caught by something, her first reaction was to try to destroy it. Used to it after literally burning through 3 of the Sephirah's lives, his reflexes grew more accurate, even if the gap in power between them was the same. Without even thinking, he sidestepped and avoided the slash of the sword that could have dealt severe damage to him while equipped with his current armor.
The tension remaining high, Y/N positioned his feet to ease his next move. Upon missing her target, the Sephirah approached the man who was lucky enough to be still standing and fought with all her power, rage consuming her vision and her thoughts. First slamming Smile down, the waves of screams captured the employee, giving her the perfect time to strike. Trapped in place like Nothing There, the captain of the Central Command team struggled to keep up with the enemy's relentless assaults.
Gebura: Crumble to nothingness, Justitia.
A singular swing done, a perfect arc of pale light formed from the motion of the blade, directly hitting the weak agent standing in place. Normally, something as simple as a regular attack like this would have been nothing but in the hands of Gebura of all people? The result was catastrophic. Shoved near death's door, his vision grew to become hazy and with threats inside the main room, the regenerator could not perform its duty at the desired speed.
Nothing There: He's dying! Oh god, hellllp!
Releasing a yell once freed from its shackles, the red humanoid ran straight for the Red Mist and grabbed her head with its hand before starting to bash it against its other one, turned into a spiky mace. With each cycle, the Aleph monster grew more than more loud with its breathings while the AI trapped in that loop was chopping away at Nothing There's body, removing chunks of it piece by piece.
Y/N: Kh, this feels so disgusting.
Adrenaline pushing the pain away, he crouched down to the floor and tried to tear off the vomit left on the floor. Even through the protection of the E.G.O that he was borrowing, his hands felt stained by something deep, sorrow and anguish. Feeling his heart beating heaviy, it was like he was only mere steps away from losing grasp of his soul, his body reaching its limits without medical assistance.
Alter Ego: Where's that magical girl when we need her!
Using the battle currently unfolding in the same room as cover, she ran closer to the dying worker and assisted him, mumbling those words to herself in the meantime. Both of them at it, the revolting stains fell off but the smell stayed strong, powerful to make the both of them dizzy. Covering their noses, they beelined for the exit and crouched down to make their presence less visible in the darkness, even though one was wearing a pink military suit.
Y/N: Is it me or is the place a lot colder than usual?
In fact, he couldn't even feel the tip of his fingers, yet he was showing none of the signs associated with hypothermia. Taking a Pale hit was more than a simple wound, more than receiving a mental attack. The perfect description would be a gash at one's soul, something that one couldn't be protected against and with Gebura's innate ability to wield E.G.Os to their maximum, that power was amplified to become an even more deadly strike.
A head that looked up to the cosmos has been lowered.
Alter Ego: You'll be fine Y/N, you'll be fine! D-Don't die on me!
Y/N: ...
His legs feeling sore, he slowly stood back up and leaned against the nearest wall, observing in the darkness the sparks created between the rampaging Sephirah and the freed monster. Both heavily damaged by this point, it was a shock to see them still capable of fighting.
Then, in the distance, a bell echoed, a soft and enticing melody attempting to charm the employees inside that could still hear its song. Those who could not resist the calling immediately dropped what they were doing and followed its guidance with blind faith, be called by the beast of the dark forest.
Nothing There: Help! Hellllllp!
Screaming loudly, the deformed humanoid continued its attacks but with an irregular interval. Gravely damaged from all the wounds it substained, one of the most noticeable ones was the one cutting off his left arm from his body. Lacking one of its limbs, the mimicking being still did not give up the confrontation and kept going all out to overcome the woman.
Nothing There was not planning on letting itself die without taking down the crimson executionner with it.
Gebura: Out of my way!
Sensing a weakness in the walking fortress blocking her path, she dropped her hammer down and with a perfectly vertical slash, she jammed the bandaged blade into the head of the abnormality. At that moment, time seemed to slow down for everyone in the room temporarely. Applying force onto the weapon, it continued its path down and she forced it to split the body in half. The process took only a mere 3 seconds but in the agents' eyes, it felt like numerous minutes.
Nothing There: ...
Cut in half, the unrelenting animal crumbled down onto the floor, with not much life in it left after receiving so many hits. However, if one thing had to be known about it, it was definitely its resilience, its ability to survive in any situations. Aware of that fact, the Color raised her hammer and repeatedly brought it down on the monster, ending its freedom.
Y/N: N-Nothing There lost? How?!
Alter Ego: We need to end this quickly, she must be close to defeated!
Brandishing her own version of Justitia, she was ready to fight to end this massacre but to her surprise, the abnormality had one last trick up its sleeve. Both sliced parts weakly dragged themselves out of the afterlife, just to mutter one last word.
Nothing There: Goodbye.
Then, from its insides, spikes emerged and stabbed the AI in multiple spots, destroying most of her systems alongside it. Left unprotected, she could only witness her error with silence and anger, anger at herself for not seeing it coming. Its last action completed, Nothing There shrunk down into a small egg and slowly vanished, gone from this duel.
Following that, the last one to stand fell down for a third time, defeated. No movements coming from her, the employees glanced at each other, praying that it was the end. Outside of the room, more screams were echoing, all caused by the large beast formed by combining the birds residing in the facility.
Nothing There was the true winner.
And Little Bird's mouth that devours everything has been shut.
Y/N: Why is everything still going?
Gebura: ...I'm not done, I refuse to let myself die! I'll destroy everything, EVERYTHING that stand in my way!
Standing up, she crushed the hammer down on the floor and squeezed out a hellish cry out of it before its destruction was completed. Following that, she cleanly ripped off the bandages covering her sword and revealed a pair of golden eyes ressembling Big Bird's underneath them, drilling holes into the duo.
Alter Ego: Again?! How many times do we have to defeat her?!
Y/N: This... How are we supposed to deal with this?
Hopeless, they both watched their superior looming above them before turning her head towards their direction, more specifically the man's. Sensing her gaze upon his body, he gulped down his saliva and rose his fists.
Gebura: Winners write history huh? I'll crush you and make you admit your error.
Y/N: ...Nothing There brought us this far, we have to win this, this is our chance.
Alter Ego: ...
Both protecting each other's back, the final phase of the Red Mist began, it was all or nothing. Now that one of their allies was gone, they could only rely on their manpower to finish the suppression.
