Day 38: Raindrops (pt.2)

All aware of the current disaster inside the facility, all captains of each team have gathered inside the upper part of the Central Command team to organize a plan to overcome the crisis that we were going through. Under the heavy rain that seemed to come from nowhere but everywhere at the same time, we were gathering the informations related about the current abnormalities inside the facility.

Intercom: Red & Black anomaly detected, Qliphoth Meltdown required to attempt reset.

Y/N: Any Red or Black damaging abnormalities undergoing a meltdown?

Immediately, I asked the other captains while I was checking my own abnormalities. From what I know, the only abnormalities that we currently have in our department that were affected consisted of Nothing There, Big Bird, Laetitia and Melting Love and no signs of meltdown could be found. Sighing in relief, I looked to the others, hoping that the abnormalities needing attendance were relatively safe ones.

Alter Ego: Nothing on my side.

She answered back while flipping through many pages of a large document, time playing against all of us. With the lack of superiors to guide us, we had to do everything on our own and prioritize the safety of others at all time.

Hana: Blue Star currently under meltdown in my department.

The one representing the Extraction team typed something on a device, sending a notification to the nearest teams. Sighing to myself, I glanced at the other teams, hoping that the other possible meltdowns would be tamer than Blue Star. I haven't seen that abnormality yet but the informations about it were terrifying enough.

Y/N: Disciplinary team, anything?

Sinvicta: Little helper is having a meltdown.

He calmly responded to my question, frowning at the informations he was going through. His black hair were slowly losing their original form with the stress and his eyes were fiercely staring at the documents in his possession. It was all or nothing after all, all of us putting everything on the line to make sure that the end is reached.

Sinvicta: Heard that, make the most resistant one to Red damage take care of it!

He spoke through a radio by his side and ordered the employees of his department to take care of the anomaly. The one on the other side complied, also aware that everything was going downhill at this point. In order to survive, all departments were on the same level and running at full capacity.

Y/N: WhiteNight's Qliphoth dropped, someone take care of it.

Alter Ego: I'll do it, please supervise my team during that time!

Standing up, she rushed downstairs with no hesitation in mind. Doing my part, I grabbed her documents and began going through them rapidly, taking a look at the abnormalities that she was dealing with.

Little Red, Silent Orchestra, Forsaken Murderer and Yin.

Y/N: ...Any sights of possible intruders?

I asked to the other captains, taking into account the numerous breaches that the company was unable to prevent. Before assembling here, a wave of robots entered the facility but were quickly taken care of. However, it doesn't mean that we were good, it just means that the storm is approaching.

Hana: Negative.

Sinvicta: At least we got some good music to work with.

He added to the conversation by pointing at the intercom playing a song just like the previous times when dealing with those type of anomalies. Sure, the music is good but we're going to die if we don't remain careful.

Y/N: Focus on your job.

Solemnly cutting the conversation there, I glanced down at the files scattered around the table and looked for a certain one.

Y/N: Training team, current state of Queen of Hatred?

The person in charge of the training team was none other than Dana, been a while since I talked with her now that I think about it. Wearing the outfit of the Snow Queen, she effortlessly searched through her own device and took a peek at her department.

Dana: Peak Qliphoth Counter, no problem on this part, what about Big Bird?

Y/N: No employees were lost, no Qliphoth loss on our part as well.

We needed to proceed slowly and at a meticulous pace while we still could or else problems would arise at a faster rate than we might imagine. Keeping that in mind, we had to make decisions, choose human lives over the production of energy.

...The superiors would understand, at least I hope they will, nobody wants to see a massacre happen before their very eyes.

Y/N: I'm gonna need a REAL break after this crap.

Sinvicta: Make that double for me.

Finally, the captain of the Security team returned from her work, completely exhausted. Having heard our conversation, she slumped into her chair.

Alter Ego: *Sigh* I hate this place but we have no choice.

Unlike the others, she knew the atrocities hidden under the many layers of lies, her words genuinely coming from her heart. At this point, most of the veterans were used to it but still didn't appreciate this place.

Y/N: Any Meltdowns?

The serene song of the rain echoed in the room and the workers were running around, trying to accelerate to process of maintenance. After all, the sooner the Qliphoth Deterrence is fixed, the sooner everything will calm down. Just like Malkuth, Hod or even Tiphereth, we just needed to wait for a signal, to reach the end.

Intercom: White & Pale anomaly detected. Qliphoth Meltdown required to attempt reset.

Hana: We entered Qliphoth level 4, analyze for any possible anomalies.

Y/N: Nothing on my side.

Alter Ego: Nothing.

Sinvicta: Holy moly...

The captain of the disciplinary team mumbled those words with a shocked look.

Sinvicta: My whole department is under a Meltdown.

Y/N: Send everyone to the Disciplinary team, we need to clear those as soon as possible!

I ordered some employees through our devices while Alter Ego called her own employees to assist my orders. With how unstable the facility currently was, dealing with those Meltdowns were our top priority... at least on the same level as keeping everyone alive.

Y/N: Any Meltdowns down to the bottom floor?

I turned my head to the one wearing Nothing There's set and her closed eyes simply stared back at me, a slight frown on her face.

Hana: O-01-064 is undergoing a Meltdown but we have no information about it.

Y/N: I'll take over, supervise the Central Command team.

Standing up, I took a sprint in the direction of the stairs and quickly jumped over the last steps to speed up the process. Not knowing how much time I had to reach the containment room before something bad happens gave my legs a boost of energy that would normally leave me with sore limbs after a good 20 seconds.

Y/N: Get out of my way, emergency!

To make others aware of my presence, I loudly yelled and ran through the hallways. Reaching the elevator, the doors opened and I stepped inside, pressing for the lower level. With that small window of opportunity, I caught my breath and readied myself for a second sprint. Once opened, I slid between the opening doors and turned to the right, entering the Extraction department.

Finally, in the single hallway the department had, I reached for the last door and opened it. Once inside, I heaved a sigh of relief before organizing my thoughts. Of course, stopping the Meltdown was the easy part, now trapped with the abnormality, I had to proceed with my work and hope to not cause it to become aggressive.

Y/N: Now... let's see what we have.

Preparing the usual, I entered the room and took my first look at the abnormality.

Y/N: ...That's a weird cocoon.

Nonetheless, I mentally prepared myself against any possible outcome and began the work that I gave to myself. At first sight, the abnormality standing before me seemed rather... inactive to say the least. There was a girl trapped inside a large gem that I would prefer not touch, the surface giving me the feeling that it shouldn't be a good idea to approach.

Y/N: ...

With absolutely no information on it, it was up to me to make everything, being the first one to make a report on its behaviour, precision required to accomplish this. Quickly moving my hand, I hurriedly finished a rough drawing of the abnormality and went to the next step, taking notes of what I could see.

Y/N's mind: Should I consider it non-sentient? After all, there's a girl inside that thing but she doesn't seem to be awake.

Under the current pressure, I simply marked it as "non-sentient" and moved on. I still needed to return to the Central Command department and attend to my duties, I couldn't waste a single second inside.

Y/N: This, this and that... seems all good.

Rushing through everything, my examinations were completed for now and so I glanced at the entity on the other side of the room. No movement was seen and no reaction either. My time spent inside the containment room finally ended and I emerged out of it with nothing major.

Y/N: Hey you!

I called one of the office workers and gave them the report. They silently accepted it and allowed me to leave, which I did with no hesitation. Taking the elevator was the longest part of the travel but once out of the way, I easily returned to my duties.

Alter Ego: WhiteNight's Qliphoth has decreased to 2, we need to try to clear the Pale anomaly as fast as possible.

Y/N: Got it.

That was the only important part that I missed and that was fine by me. Meanwhile, Dana looked through her documents and wrote something down, calling one of her agents afterwards.

Dana: Rose?

???: What? I'm busy.

A rather angry voice responded, clearly not happy to be disturbed by her captain. Sighing to herself, she glanced at her reports and asked a single question to the employee.

Dana: Queen of Hatred, any changes?

Rose: How am I supposed to know? I just sat there in my chair the whole day, I'm waiting to do something!

Y/N: Quite the moody girl you got Dana.

Dana: Lucky for you that you don't see her everyday, she's quite violent compared to the others I have.

Rose: I can still hear you captain.

Dana: Go check on Queen of Hatred for me please, we need to keep a regular check on her.

Rose: *Sigh* Fine...

The one representing the Training team turned off the radio and placed it back on top of the table, a hand on her forehead. Looking around, many of the office workers were completely overwhelmed by the amount of tasks they needed to do and we weren't any better.

*Beep*

Hana: Hm?

Something suddenly alerted the girl wearing Nothing There's suit. Trying to focus on my own stuff, I averted my gaze for a second and that single moment was when the girl exclaimed a gasp of shock.

Y/N: What's wrong?

Quick on the reaction, I observed her along with the other captains. She frowned and reached for her sword.

Hana: The office workers informed me that O-01-064 has escaped, we need to suppress it immediately.

Y/N: Where is it?

Hana: What..? It's gone?

Alter Ego: Nononono! What's going on?!

The girl beside me began to panic and from above us, I could faintly hear screams and laughters echoing through the walls. Standing up, I immediately ordered everyone to send an emergency message to their respective department.

Y/N: Group everyone inside the main rooms and remain hidden until we find a way to deal with the abnormality!

Dana: We can't waste time, we need to hurry!

She stood up and slammed her fists down, clearly stressed out of her mind. Orders given, I asked how many lives we lost so far.

Alter Ego: I lost 6 of my workers... no agents.

Hana: That thing got one of mine.

Y/N: Is that all?

7 deaths, we're starting to lose some people and thing are only going to escalate from here. Processing the information, I checked my abnormalities and more weight fell down from the sky.

Y/N: Crap, WhiteNight is at 1, we can't take our time, we need to hurry!

Sinvicta: What about the abnormality?

Y/N: We don't have time, keep an eye on its movements and order everyone to not fight it. Alter Ego, I need your help with WhiteNight.

Alter Ego: G-Got it!

Standing up, she dashed back down to attend to WhiteNight's needs, knowing full well that the Qliphoth Deterrence was going haywire.

Y/N: Everyone, tell your employees to begin works, we can't stop the process!

Dana: O-01-064 detected inside my department.

Y/N: Got that everyone? Send one or 2 employees to work, this day will never end if we do nothing!

Everyone: Right!

O-01-064 was out and time was running out, we needed to hurry before something worse happens. We all knew that the outcome of such possibility would be our death and that was probably why everyone was cooperating efficiently.

My office workers were by our sides, also not allowed to exit the main rooms due to the monster roaming around and so they helped us with our duties, taking care of the incoming reports while we were in charging of commanding the employees under our wings. Everything was resting upon us and we couldn't fail them.
