Y/N: Can you do that for me?

I explained her the situation and when I asked her that, she narrowed her eyes and I saw a dark glare coming from her eyes, clearly unhappy about something.

QoH: I feel like you are simply using me just because she got hurt.

Y/N: ...

QoH: Then what? You're going to forget about me?

Y/N: It's not-

QoH: I know that you paid a visit to the monster who tried to kill you, someone needs to keep you in check.

Y/N: Look, I'm sorry, I didn't want to offend you.

QoH: Theeeeen...

A grin formed on her face and I felt a wave of shivers in my spine, knowing that it wasn't going to end well for me.

QoH: Let me follow you tomorrow.

Y/N: That's all?

She nodded and I decided that it wasn't that bad, considering the other routes that she could have taken instead of this one. She jumped around in happiness and then returned to my problem.

QoH: With a little bit of magic, everything can be possible.

Y/N: I hope so, don't want to rely on Angela for this one... or anything, ever.

The last part was said to myself, mumbling it under my breath. She soon started casting a spell and she pointed the foreign object attached to me, causing it to fall on the floor. I stepped away in shock and looked at myself.

Y/N: No fucking way, it actually worked.

I said that, feeling an immense amount of relief when I realized that it was gone. I looked back at Queen of hatred but then saw her fighting whatever that sentient liquid was. She spun around and created glowing stars in the whole room, destroying themselves when they landed on it.

Y/N: ...

I tried to look for my weapon but I remembered that Gebura took them away from me, rendering me helpless. The enemies then launched in my direction and I avoided it's attack by going under it.

QoH: Stay behind me Y/N, I'll protect you!

Not having a choice, I did so and hid behind her, hoping that she could take care of it. Her opponent suddenly started to become taller and change itself. When it was over, my eyes widened in disbelief, I was faced by the one that I wanted to support and protect.

Alter Ego: Y/N, please don't abandon us, we know your pain and we can help you.

Y/N: ...H-How-

QoH: Don't listen to it Y/N, it's trying to trick you, this monster doesn't have your interests at heart.

That thing quickly reacted by glaring at the abnormality, gritting it's teeth together before speaking back to her.

Alter Ego: And you think that you have HIS best interests at heart selfish creature?

QoH: ...

She glared back at it, clearly pissed by that question but fortunately, the door opened and Gebura saved the day once more by grabbing it and shoving it violently inside a glass container.

Gebura: I got you now, stay in there forever.

Alter Ego: You can't keep us here Red Mist, we won't give up!

Gebura: I'm going to make sure you never lay a finger on him ever again, trust me on that one.

Her eyes soon searched for me and when she saw me, she gave me a confident smile.

Gebura: Impressed?

Y/N: I mean, it was cool but I don't know if I would call it impressive... to me, you seem like a super-soldier so of course I won't think anything you do is impressive, it's amazing.

Gebura: ...Amazing?

She blushed a little and then pushed the container outside the room. She looked back at me and then saw her mutter a few words that I understood perfectly.

Gebura: I wish you would say that each time we've met.

She turned around and left, leaving me with the magical girl who puffed her cheeks while crossing her arms.

QoH: Hey, I hey too...

Y/N: Sorry, I'm probably just used to your little tricks at this point.

I gave her my goodbyes and walked back to my room, preparing myself for the next day.

The next day...

Y/N: ...What the fuck is this?

I asked when I saw what I was currently seeing. Standing in front of me was Queen of Hatred wearing a working uniform like the one I was wearing on my first day, a wide smile on her face when she saw me.

QoH: Hey Y/N, ready for your work?

Y/N: ...Why are you wearing this?

I asked while pointing her clothes.

QoH: I said that I was following you so I decided to hide myself among everyone else.

Y/N: Yea, about that... I don't think it's working that much.

If her bright and colorful hair along with her hairpin wasn't a givaway then the floating weapon that she always use is also following her, making her disguise completely useless.

Y/N: You know that everyone can see you right?

QoH: They can?!

She was taken aback by my question and looked around herself. I sighed in response and took a fresh notepad along with a pen, preparing myself for the new day ahead of me.

Y/N: Just don't cause any trouble, I don't need to deal with you today on top of everything else.

I turned around and walked away, quickly followed by the abnormality who decided that she was now an employee. I took a good look and my duties and sighed before turning around to face Queen of Hatred.

Y/N: Starting with Nothing There.

I gave her a "follow me" sign with my hand and walked in the direction of the containment room containing the monstrous abnormality. Once there, I was greeted by it's usual loud noises.

Y/N: You... stay there and do nothing.

QoH: Why?

Y/N: ...I need to feed it.

I answered while pointing her a plate of food that I was carrying. She gave me a worried stare and grabbed it from my hands.

QoH: I'll do it.

Y/N: No, I have to do it, you stay there and look.

I grabbed it from her hands and she frowned back at me, taking it once more from my hands before giving it to Nothing There. The abnormality immediately rushed on it and devoured everything on the plate... including that said plate.

Y/N: Someone's a little hungry today.

I wrote down the result and Queen of Hatred looked over my shoulder to see what I was doing, watching me write down the observation. Noticing her gaze fixated on my notes, I gave her an annoyed stare and saw her blush before stepping away from me.

QoH: Sorry.

Y/N: ...Whatever.

I finished what I had to do and left the containment unit along with the magical girl, now gonig to go see the Knight of Despair. During the walk to the abnormality's containment room, I was followed my Queen of Hatred who looked at our surroundings with curiosity.

Y/N: You don't... have to follow me the whole time-

QoH: And let you get hurt once more? Not a chance.

Y/N: *Sigh* This is gonna be a veeeeery long day for me.

Those were the last words I said before stepping inside the room and immediately, both of the abnormalities reacted when they saw each other, making me nervous a little since I was between them.

QoH: ...Senpai?

KoD: ...

The woman with the blue dress didn't say anything but looked in my direction, her eyes still closed. I glanced at the girl standing beside me and she looked back at me with shocked eyes.

QoH: I didn't know Senpai was here too, this is a good thing, she knows everything when it comes to protecting someone.

Y/N: I don't think this is-

She covered my mouth with one of her gloved hands, stopping me from saying anything. She then tried to start a conversation with the second abnormality but she didn't say anything back to Queen of Hatred.

Y/N's mind: I feel like I'm gonna be stuck here for a while.

I soon started writing down their conversation, considering this a valuable information. It was one-sided obviously but it doesn't seem like she was bothered by it... at least I thought she wasn't until she started screaming at her former partner.

QoH: Please say something, I'm begging you!

KoD: ...

Y/N: Queen, it's enough, she's not going to talk.

The knight turned her head to me and nodded in silence. I got confused by her action and then my mind was filled with terrifying images, causing my eyes to widen. I saw through her eyes the meaning of betrayal and desperation, her broken will to protect people as much as possible.

QoH: Y/N?

My mind started to slip away and when her hand touched my shoulder, I slapped her away and then stepped away from her, feeling cold sweats running down my face.

Y/N: Don't touch me! You're going to get rid of me like the others!

QoH: What are you-

Y/N: Shut up! Shut up! I don't want to hear anything from you, leave me alone!

I forced the door to open and then ran away.

Y/N: I don't want to die!

Nobody's P.O.V.

The employees in the Security department were doing their usual things, taking care of the documents that Netzach never bothered finishing until one of the employees immediately grabbed her head.

Daniel: Alter Ego?

Alter Ego: No... N-No... Not again...

She then screamed in agony and tears formed in her eyes. The employees tried to help her but the intercom went on, taking their attention on the message.

Intercom: Warning! Employee Y/N has fallen into a panicked state, suppression is needed immediately! Sane employees left: 11

Daniel: Shit, someone with a mental weapon, go take care of him!

An employee rushed outside the room in order to suppress Y/N while Daniel was trying to bring Alter Ego back on her feet. However, when he did, what he saw caused him to let go of her before stepping away in fear, the others doing the same.

...The veins in her eyes were dilated and her eyes wide open, staring into people's soul like an insane person. She remained on her feet and then tears of blood started to emerge from her eyes instead of normal ones. Afterwards, she took out her weapon and started laughing, a broken laughter completely consumed by madness and insanity.

Intercom: Warning! Employee Alter Ego has fallen into a panicked state, suppression is needed immediately! Sane employees left: 10

Alter Ego: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! THE SPIRAL WILL NEVER END, WE WILL NEVER ESCAPE THIS PLACE AND THAT BITCH IS MAKING SURE OF THAT!

She swung her sword in the air and then charged at the employees, who immediately began panicking before running out of the room. Meanwhile, the agents took out their weapons and tried to stop her, only to be met with a great resistance.

Daniel: Damn it, snap out of it Alter Ego!

Alter Ego: SHUT UP, YOU DON'T KNOW US! IF YOU THINK THAT Y/N WILL LOVE YOU SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU KILL ME THEN YOU'RE WRONG AND YOU KNOW THAT!

She swung her weapon a second time and Daniel shot her in the leg before punching her in the stomach, causing her to lose her breath and allowing the male to go for another hit on her. He gave her a jab in the shoulder and she stepped away from him, clutching that said shoulder.

Elis: Daniel!

She prepared the rifle that she was carrying with her and started shooting Alter Ego with it, trying to make her stop but only fuelling her actions even more.

During that time, Y/N was running around while screaming loudly, causing everyone on his path to panic with him. Behind him, Queen of Hatred was trying her best to calm everyone down while chasing the one causing this chaos.

QoH: Y/N Stop!

He didn't answer and kept screaming about not wanting to die. From what? Nobody really knows but it was enough for him to fall into a massive mental breakdown. Fortunately, some employees grabbed him and started to suppress him with their weapons, used to restore one's sanity.

QoH: Y/N, listen to me!

His eyes soon returned to normal and he fell on the ground, finally recovering from his panic attack. The employees who dealt with him sighed from tiredness and then walked away.

Back to the Security team, the girl who mysteriously started going on a frenzy lost her unusual signs and fell unconscious on the ground, not moving anymore. Everyone thought that she died but realized that it wasn't the case.

...Why did she panic when nothing reached her? Nobody knows, she just randomly started to panic the very second Y/N did the same... almost like she was forced to panic along with him.

Meanwhile...

Angela: ...

The AI sitting on the chair was seen gritting her teeth to herself, clearly displeased by the sight of the both of them panicking in unison. Her hands tightened into fists and soon after, she punched her desk for the first time in 84 days.

Angela: Again, why does it always have to happen, why can't this NOT happen?

She mumbled furiously to herself and left her seat, leaving the room. She knew why it happened and the very thought of it was making her mad, she couldn't accept this.

...Even with their memories erased, it keeps happening and no matter how many times she tries to stop it, it always happen without a single exception after a few days.

Angela: This needs to stop, I can't tolerate this.

She disappeared when stepping outside of her office, going into the depths of the facility. Soon, her walk came to an end when she saw the one she wanted to talk to.

...One of the men behind her existence, now an old man with a gray outfit, gray just like his hair, tired eyes and a monocle covering one of his eyes. He noticed her presence and gave her a cold welcome, long lost his ability to smile in front of her.

???: Angela, I wasn't expecting your presence, what could be the reason today?

Angela: The phenomenon is still happening, I know that you are the one causing this and I asked you multiple times to stop this.

???: My apologies Angela but my involvement is not the cause behind this, I am simply keeping the employees ready for their grand day, nothing else.

She frowned in response and he turned around to take a look at his notes. He flipped through some pages and then gave her a few sheets of paper.

???: However, if you insist on removing that bond between them, I must inform you that the consequences could be... quite disastrous.

Angela: This farce has continued for too long, I do not intend to keep it going without acting.

She turned around and walked away. Once she was gone, the old man sighed and then looked at a report, Y/N's report. He stared at it for a long moment and dropped his eyebrows, knowing that this situation wouldn't end well for him.

???: I can't imagine seeing you in that much pain like the first time but if this keeps up, I fear that she might reach her goal.

He placed the report on the table and then took out a picture from his pocket. A simple and old image that could turn into dust at any moment.

It was a man with grey hair smiling, standing beside another one with black hair, giving a cold and emotionless stare into the camera. Beside them, A woman with brown hair hiding her eyes with her hair and a red hairpin was seen holding the arm of a man with her, smiling at him while the person in question was more shocked than anything else.

???: Unfortunately, time took away those memories and nothing can be done about it.

He returned the picture in his pocket and glanced at the report, seeing the picture of the same man held by the woman in his picture smiling while hugging another one who smiled back at him, her name is Alter Ego.

???: Keep fighting for what you love Y/N, even if the odds are against you.

Those were his last words before his attention returned to more important stuff.
