Y/N: ...

I slowly regained my consciousness inside of a dark room, so dark that I couldn't even see anything past my hands. I slowly placed them on the ground and then went up before taking slow steps, trying to find the walls.

Y/N's mind: I don't think walls exist here.

I said that to myself after walking for what felt like 5 whole minutes, not touching anything except the invisible floor under my feet. However, I continued walking away from my original position and then went through the floor at some point, falling into the abyss of the unknown...

...I fell, fell and fell...

...more, endlessly...

...until she stopped it.

QoH: Y/N!

The light that I was looking for appeared and I was now sitting on a comfy couch, sitting by her side. She was still wearing her magical girl outfit but I was now wearing a regular suit instead of Red's one.

Y/N: What's going on? Where am I?

I quickly glanced around the room and felt her hand slowly grabbing my arm before leaning herself against me. I looked back at her and she returned my look back at me, a peaceful smile trying to comfort me... only to make me even more distressed.

Y/N: You did this, you caused this!

I left my place and glared at her before pointing her with an accusing finger, not playing her game. Her smile dropped and I could see her eyes trembling a little, now holding her hands together.

QoH: Y-Y/N, I wanted to help you-

Y/N: It doesn't help me in the slightest, not at all.

QoH: It is for me! You keep hurting yourself for no reason at all, for what exactly? Tell me, what are you risking your life for? Energy? Your life is worth more than that!

Y/N: How do you-

QoH: I have ears Y/N, I'm capable of listening just like you and I know that you're all doing this for the sake of energy, I'm simply another thing for you to extract energy from and that's not what I want to do!

Y/N: Why dragging me here then, I'm not the one responsible for your situation!

I couldn't help myself but yelling at her, showing her my discomfort. She frowned a little and left her seat before placing one of her fingers against my torso.

QoH: I decided to save a poor soul, that's what I did Y/N! I SAVED you from this place!

Y/N: ...Why? We don't know each other and plus, if you really wanted to save the poor souls trapped here, you should have brought everyone else.

QoH: No.

She simply shot down my proposition, a shadow looming her eyes when she said it. I remained silent and then turned around.

Y/N: Then I don't need to remain here, I'm leaving.

I saw the door and then reached for the doorknob before opening it. However, when I did so, I was dragged away from it by the girl with me in the room. When I tried to tell her to let me go, I was stopped when I noticed her expression...

...Her pupils close to non-existent, her teeth gritted against each other and I saw her hands thightly holding me back, using every ounce of power that she had to keep me away from that door.

QoH: You can't leave me, you can't! Do you understand?!

She screaming those desperate words before throwing me back on the couch, tossing me like a vulgar puppet across the room. I glared at her and then jumped out of it, aiming a punch at her since I didn't have a single weapon at my disposal. She blocked it and then grabbed the collar of my clothes, leaning her head closer to me.

QoH: We're partners Y/N, you can't leave me simply because you feel like it, I won't allow it!

Y/N: We never were partners, I just said that so that you would shut up! If I knew that this would happen, I would have never told you that-

She then slapped me, tears in her eyes when she did so.

QoH: Shut up, you're lying!

Y/N: ...

I didn't say anything back and watched her face turning into a disaster, crying her eyes out while denying what I've said to her. Her internal fight continued for a while until it all stopped, forming a cruel and wicked smile on her face.

QoH: I'll force you to take back those words.

Y/N: You can't, I'm gonna wait for the suppression team to take care of you and I'll never see you again.

It definitely hit a nerve since her free hand twitched for a moment. Afterwards, she created her magical weapon out of thin air and pointed it at me.

QoH: If you don't want to be on the side of justice then I will make sure that nobody else find you until you change your mind.

???: Y/N!!!!!

I then heard Alter Ego's voice echoing in the room, causing shivers to go through my whole body. I quickly recovered my cool and then prepared a second punch, looking at the one holding me hostage.

Y/N: You know what? I take it back, I won't let the suppression team find you.

QoH: Huh?

Y/N: I'll kill you myself.

I then swung a fist at her face, causing her to release me and take a few steps backward while holding her face. I could see her eyes creating some flames from sheer anger but I wasn't scared, I have a reason to escape this place after all.

Meanwhile...

Alter Ego jumped away from QoH's range before going for a quick succession of attacks, causing heavy damages to the abnormality. It responded violently to her attacks and swung it's tail around, making the girl trip on the ground.

Alter Ego: I'll never forgive you!

She stood back on her feet and immediately blocked another hit coming from her, responding with more hit on the giant snake. That fight was soon interrupted by the mercenary who broke out of her containment.

Red: Give it back!

She yelled before shooting Queen of Hatred in the face with her gun. She then jumped on top of her and slashed her face open, creating a large wound and kicking it while in mid-air. She landed perfectly on the ground and tossed a throwing hatchet and it when through the abnormality's body before landing on the ground too.

Alter Ego: ...

She grabbed her sword and charged before going for quick attacks, then rolling away from the hits aimed at her. They both repeated their assaults on the dragon entity and then it started to charge an attack. Alter Ego immediately stepped out of the range and watched the laser going through the room, through the facility while little Red was tanking it.

Alter Ego's mind: Please be safe Y/N.

During that time, the alarm vanished and a more melancolic and sad music replaced it, bringing Alter Ego even more bad memories from her past.

It's at this point that she could finally see the truth, the abomination looming around them, observing them inside the room and watching the fight currently happening.

Alter Ego: ...

She took a few steps away, ignoring the fight while focusing on the entity in front of her eyes. She tried to open her mouth and say something but no words came out of it...

...She only watched the eye slowly lowering itself, now watching her in return.

...It looked at her with a depressed stare, almost ignoring the fact that 2 abnormalities were fighting inside the room.

???: This place can never be safe.

It said that before looking back at the empty space in front of itself. Meanwhile, the employees returned and helped Red until the dragon exploded into a bright light. She turned her attention back to them and saw the plushie landing on the ground, not moving.

Alter Ego: Y/N...

She grabbed it slowly and then looked at it for a moment before someone took it from her, it was the mercenary. She looked back at the frail employee and gave her a glare before turning around, returning to her containment room.

Alter Ego: !

She gritted her teeth and then went for a swing full of fury, she was trying to get away with him, the one that she tried to save. She knew that her suffering would only repeat, she was tortured by making her see him leave her an endless amount of times but she won't give up, her wish of seeing the sunlight alongside him will never die in her heart.

???: Nothing will change, we all wake up in this cursed place and die in silence.

Meanwhile...

Angela: ...

The AI carefully looked through the cameras, inspecting every single one of them but couldn't find the goal of her observation. Her grip on her seat became thighter, still going through all of them and watching the meltdowns going by, the employees kept working and continuing the day.

...She then watched Alter Ego fighting against little Red, both of them not giving up even with their wounds. They kept attacking each other relentlessly while showing their anger, making Angela frown.

Angela: Not here either...

She switched the cameras and then found a sight that caused her to stop for a moment. Inside of the Queen of Hatred's containment room, the abnormality was sleeping and Y/N's E.G.O gifts were on the ground.

Angela: ...

Then the next sight caused her to get a little worried: the gifts started to melt and mix themselves together before jumping inside of the ventilation system.

Angela: Not again...

She left her seat and then for the first time in a very long time, she threw a pen at the screen, her eyes now fully opened.

Y/N's P.O.V.

Y/N: ...

I woke up with an immense headache, completely tired and also lost in the darkness. I stood up and looked around, seeing dusty furnitures along with rust on the walls.

Y/N: Where am I?

The last thing I remember was getting impaled my Queen of Hatred's staff and then I woke up here for some reason... did I die again?

...Wait no, it can't be it or else Angela would be there with me like each times. That also means that I'm still alive in an unknown territory.

???: Y/N...

Y/N: ?

My name echoed in the abandoned room, it sounded like multiple people and things were saying it at the same time, creating a loud cacophony that inflicted a second headache on me. I followed the voices and then ended up in a barely illuminated room, a container with walls made of glass standing in front of me.

Y/N: What the...

The container was filled with a green liquid and a spinal cord connected to a brain along with a nervous system was floating inside it. With the position of the brain, I could tell that it was facing me but I couldn't tell if it was sentient or not.

Y/N's mind: Where's the exit, I don't want to stay near this thing.

I walked past it and then saw a second container but this one was much more smaller, the size of my body unlike the first one. However, that one was completely filled with something with an endless amount of colors, making it an abomination... at least it would be if it had a form since it only looks like the container was filled with multiple chemicals.

Y/N: ...

I glanced back at the brain and then saw that it turned around, placing itself in a rotation so that it was still facing me, giving me chills.

Intercom: Warning! Unstable signs detected inside the Security department's Sephirah, emergency end of shift in progress!

Y/N: Netzach? What happened?

I looked around but slowly felt like something was grabbing my foot. I could feel the colors in my face vanishing before my eyes looked down, my hands shaking in fear. When I saw what was touching me, it was a pile of of that strange liquid completely covering my shoe.

???: Y/N...

The voices called me and I looked around quickly before stepping away from that puddle of unknown substance. It remained stuck on my shoe and I panicked in response, removing it before tossing it across the room.

Y/N: Leave me alone!

I yelled to nobody in particular and my legs gave out due to the extreme stress, dropping me against the cold and forgotten floor. I couldn't do anything else except looking around in fear, losing the control of my breathings.

???: Y/N...

I looked back at the containers and my heart almost stopped, the brain attached to the spinal cord was pressing its nerves against the glass, clearly using them as hands and the brain facing me. Also, the second container was shaking violently, some cracks forming.

Y/N: I didn't do anything, please leave me alone!

???: Y/N... we miss you, please come back.

The sound of the glass breaking became stronger and sweats started to go down my face, my legs shaking. I was definitely going to die here, my legs weren't responding and I couldn't find an exit out of this room, I was trapped with those things.

The puddle from earlier then started crawling back in my direction, like an animal getting closer to it's prey. I looked around, grabbed some pieces of carboard and threw them at it while hoping that it would stop it's progress, no success.

Y/N: No no no no no, it can't be true!

I held my head in my hands and my vision started to swirl around, giving me nausea at the same time. Soon, the sensation of being grabbed returned and saw it slowly climbing on top of me before stopping on my stomach.

???: Y/N... free us.

Y/N: No, I can't, leave me alone!

I denied it before attacking the conscious monster without a shape. My fist went through it and then remained attached to my hand.

???: FREE US!

The glass panel finally shattered and when I turned around, I saw a wave of a liquid of multiple colors looming over me. My eyes widened at that sight and it landed on me, suffocating me.

???: Y/N!

A door opened and I saw Angela looking at me with her eyes fully opened, an expression close to worry on her face. She ran to me and then pulled me away from the sludge trying to kill me.

???: He belongs to us, not to you useless pile of scrap.

Angela: We'll see about that.

She gave me a powerful pull and I ended up in her arms, my face resting on her chest before something cold grabbed me from behind. I glanced behind me and saw whatever that thing was spreading itself on my suit and then stopped.

...When it was done, that thing became my suit, causing me to panic even more.

Y/N: Get it off! Get that thing off of me!

Angela: Y/N, please calm down.

She grabbed my hands and stopped my from swinging them around. My legs continued my demonstrate my fear by shaking continuously.

Angela: First, let's leave this room, we can take care of this problem once we leave this place.

I weakly nodded and she held my hands, showing me the way outside of this place... during that whole exchange, I felt like the brain was watching us, even though it's doesn't have any eyes.
