Day 23: Malfunction of the System?
-All that remained was the hollow pride of a weathered knight
-...And my dear employees, I hope you all put on the gas masks that we distributed to you before we come here
Y/N: *Cough* What the hell happened?
I asked that to the other employees the next day and we all looked at each other, none of us understanding the cause of the gas leak.
Daniel: Did someone tried to poison us?
Elis: P-Poison?!
Daniel: Nevermind, forget what I said.
Skylock: I wouldn't say poison or else we wouldn't be standing right now.
Dana: Drugging us?
Alter Ego: More possible, my head was hurting me the whole day.
We all discussed about every possibilities possible but couldn't find a reason for why it happened. From my perspective, whatever that thing was made me hallucinate along with giving me a lot of dizziness at irregular times.
Y/N: ...Let's hope it doesn't happen again, I don't really want to experience that again.
We all nodded and decided to go to our respective departments. As I made my way to my department, I continued hearing the first alarm from yesterday when everything began to go to shit.
Y/N's mind: I'm sure they'll turn it off soon, I should ignore it.
I sat down and watched the employees walking inside the department, oblivious about what happened yesterday.
Employee: Hey Y/N, do you know what happened yesterday?
Y/N: No idea but it doesn't really matter.
They soon returned to their duties and I then heard a beeping from my watch, leading me to another unknown abnormality. I quietly follwed my order and I took a notepad next to the containment unit before entering.
Y/N: ...
???: ...
I stared at the abnormality in silence before writing down her appearance until I started to hear her sobbing to herself, reminding me of Scorched girl.
Y/N: ...Are you alright?
The abnormality didn't respond to my call, she didn't even react at all in fact. I sighed before finishing my examinations and then saw the abnormality nodding in my direction while I was surrounded by blue lights.
Y/N: That was weird, what was that?
I also noticed that the intercom still wasn't working for some reason. I then left the room and saw the watch on my wrist glitching out like yesterday, everything was pixelated on it. With a confused look, I returned to the main room and saw the employees complaining about their computers glitching out too.
Y/N: Anyone reported this problem?
Employee: We tried but nothing is working and Tiphereth is still missing.
Y/N: ...
I decided to help them with the problem but like they said, nothing was working and we were now forced to wait to complete our reports tomorrow.
...After a while, the alarm stopped, quickly replaced by another one.

Y/N: This place is slowly falling apart, I can feel it.
I waited for my next assignment but even after 30 minutes, nothing, absolutely nothing. I got worried and got up only to see Alter Ego entering the main room. She noticed me and gave me a smile before walking in my direction.
Y/N: Hey Alter Ego, I think there's a problem, I'm not receiving assignments anymore.
Alter Ego: Really? Ours is working properly so maybe it's broken or you can take a break for now.
Y/N: 30 minutes? We're on our shift and we both know that there is no break until the shift is over.
Alter Ego: Then why don't you help me, I wouldn't mind having someone else helping me work with abnormalities.
I nodded with a smile and followed her to the containment unit, La Luna's precisely. She opened the door and as I tried to go inside, I felt someone pulling me away, stopping me from going inside.
Alter Ego: Y/N? What's wrong?
Y/N: ...
I tried but once more, I was held back by something invisible but this time, I could hear someone crying over my shoulder.
Y/N: Something is blocking me, I don't know how.
Alter Ego: ...
She walked to me and thightly grabbed my hands and with a kind look, she pulled me in the containment room with her. As soon as one of my feet entered, the force holding me back vanished.
Alter Ego: See? No problem.
I smiled at her and we then started writing down some notes until I asked her.
Y/N: Wanna see me play some piano?
She turned her head when I asked her that and with a smile, she responded to my question with one of the most excited look I ever saw in my whole life.
Alter Ego: I would love to!
Y/N: *Laugh* Wasn't expecting you to react like that.
I carefully sat on the seat and faked a cough, hearing Alter Ego stopping whatever she was doing. I then started playing and soon a soothing melody filled the rooms to the point where I could fall asleep.
...
...Once it was over, I heard Alter Ego applauding me loudly and when I turned around, I saw her with a bright smile on her face. Meanwhile, the lady inside the room with us still wasn't reacting and remained silent.
Y/N: That helped a little.
I got up and we both walked outside, only to see some employees destroying an armored robot, all clearly wounded.
Y/N: Shit, these things didn't miss you.
Employee: *Cough* What the fuck were you doing?!
Y/N: ...Finishing our observations.
Employee: While we were fighting this thing?!
As he screamed that, the alarm stopped once more and like before, another started.

Y/N: I'm going to complain after this shift, they're clearly doing this on purpose.
I calmly said that as I saw Punishing bird flying in our direction before smashing it's small body against our heads. We all looked at each other with an annoyed look and waited for it to calm down and soon after, it left.
Employee: This place is shit.
Alter Ego: Welcome to the club...
Y/N: *Sigh*
Alter Ego was then requested to go work on something else and left. I sighed and leaned against the containment door leading to the girl I saw at the beginning of the day, waiting for the time to pass.
Y/N: Actually...
I openeed the door and tried to go back inside the containment room. I was then immediately pulled away by the same force from before. I kept trying, even gripping myself on the doorframe with all my might.
Y/N: Come... on.
Step by step, I slowly approached and felt like I was sucked into a tornado.
Y/N: Let me... go here...
I then successfully entered once more and tripped, making me fall in front of the abnormality. I raised my head and saw the girl still sobbing to herself while ignoring my presence.
Y/N: I'm sure you're the culprit!
???: ...
She didn't respond and I glared at her before standing back on my feet. I quickly moved one of my hands in front of her face to get her attention and she stopped sobbing.
Y/N: Hey you, stop that! I know that you're the one causing this!
???: ...
She didn't respond but instead slowly tapped my head like I was a small kid. I tried to stop her but as I did, I then heard the intercom telling us to leave the facility.
Intercom: Warning! Malfunction of the Sephirah detected! Repair in progress...
I left and quickly found Alter Ego and we both left the facility to go back to our room together, smiling to each other.
Yesod's meltdown successfully fixed, synchronizing memories...
