Chapter 3: I have been gone for Hours
Sarah and Aurora finally got out of the door of the large hallow tree, and ran home. She just knew her mother would be wondering where she had been. As she ran, she was surprised the sky was still light out as it was when she left.
"Mommy!" She called out, "I'm alright. And I am back." She came through the door throwing her boots off and ran inside the house.
"Sarah, I thought I told you to play for an hour."
"I did...more than an hour," the little girl said, "we're you wondering where I was?"
"No? Why would I, honey?"
"I was...gone for hours, Mommy."
Her mother looked at her surprised. "Honey...it's only been 10 minutes."
"Hiya, girls," Sarah's father came in with his father.
"Hi, honey, I-I think, Sarah isn't feeling well. She claims she has been gone for hours, but it's only 10 minutes."
"I have. I went into a door in a tree and fell into another forest."
"A door?" Her father asked, "mind showing your mother and I?"
Sarah nodded. Her parents got dressed to stay warm, and followed her. Once she led them the door, her folks checked it out with a flashlight and saw nothing. It was just normal hallow tree.
"There's nothing there, honey," her mother said, "you must've been imagining."
"But I wasn't imagining!"
"That's enough, Sarah," her mother said.
"I wouldn't lie about this."
"Of course she wouldn't, honey," Mr Thomas said to his wife. "She always told us the truth."
"But this seems so unbelievable...," Mrs Thomas said.
"Why don't we tell my father. He knows this place than we do."
Sarah's mother headed back when her father turned as she spoke.
"But, papa...it really was there..."
"...," her father looked like he was about to speak, but he stopped himself.
Sarah sighed closing the door of the hallow tree and followed her father back home.
