We starting off with a bang over here. OG Wally Darling. The Friendliest Neighbor in town!

I'm gonna be adding more later, so this might not be what's it for Wally.
Keep in mind that these are just my headcanons, and you should not spread them as Canon.

1. 📷 - Wally is internally 75 years old, but still physically 21 like back in 1969 when Welcome Home was released.

The show was released 54 years ago, making Wally 75 today. Like a Wattpader here once told me, He just obtained eternal youth like Ash Ketchum.

2. 📸 - Wally has a Southern Accent.

Yep. You read that right. I like to think Wally is a Southern boy. I believe that Wally grew up in the Southern US, and when he made Home, he just kept the accent for the rest of his life.

I got the inspiration from a couple of audios I've heard of him where some were just so talented that they didn't use the TikTok Voice changer and gave him a Southern Accent instead. Honestly, I think would fit well in a 1970s puppet show for children. (I'll link you them in the DMs if you ask).

3. 📸 - Ironically though, Wally is trans.

Unlike his older brother Opposite (aka Warley) who grew up born a boy, Wally in particular was a girl all his life. His name was Wanda, who always had big dreams of being a TV star and would do anything to they can to pursue their dreams.

Though over time as he hit puberty, he started to question himself about his identity. From dressing correctly, changing his name, and dealing with "teasingly" being dead named by his brother. He officially started transitioning in 1963, and got surgeries in 1966 when both him and his brother got genitalia transplants. (They weren't born with pener).

4. 📷 - Wally and Warley have theater experience.

They and Warley would attend various talent shows/plays as kids, would make home videos of themselves doing skits as teenagers, and when they both went to College, they took majors in Art and Theatre together.

Wally would graduate back in 1970 (unlike his Brother), and gain nationwide success with "Welcome Home". His goal with making "Welcome Home" a show was to quote:

"You see, I love the new direction we're heading with puppets teaching the kiddos now. But the problem? Most shows like this only come in color. Just not fair for those kids with parents that can't even afford gold.

That's why I made this. And I wrote songs with extra lyrics for those with the black and whites to sing along too! I'm a color aficionado all day long, but I've always liked it when everyone enjoys something just as much.

So after I founded Home, I got up the whole Neighborhood to help me out!"

(Despite this, the show was banned in Texas bc of the "Hippie Colors that could hurt kids' eyes")

5. 📹 - Behind the scenes, Wally is a progressive but occasionally crude person.

(He ain't touching no kiddies guys. Don't worry about it.)

Off screen, Wally isn't the most innocent or morally righteous person, but he isn't the most outright weirdest either.
Some of these things he does include:

- Growing Marijuana with Barnaby in a private garden to smoke

- Shoplifting from Howdy

- Getting drunk drinking hard ciders and occasionally beer.

- Making gay jokes about Frank and Eddie

- Having guilt about a College Dumpster baby he never got to see until a decade later.

6. 📷 - Wally is Pansexual

Wally is into everybody. Girl, boy, fluid, or even if you're not binary, Wally will love you so you lovers don't need to worry!

7. 📷 - Wally has 2 siblings. His twin brother Warley Dear (Opposite Wally), and his older sister Willow Darling.

8. 📹- Wally Darling isn't misogynistic, but his view of what's "too revealing" to him is stuck in the 1400s.

He will go absolutely insane if a woman dares to show her shins or shoulders, much less her thighs. As life in the Neighborhood has desensitized him to less revealing, more colorful and comfortable outfits.

9. 📹 - Wally isn't much into sex. He can be risky sometimes, but Wally is just generally a more wholesome kind of person that just likes being friends.

10. 📸 - Wally secretly has a crush on Howdy.

He doesn't just go to Howdy's to steal apples, but he also wishes to steal Howdy's heart.

11. 📷 - His rotary phone is wireless and he takes it everywhere in his pocket somehow as if it's a cellphone.

12. 📹 - He spies on the Neighbors using eye patterned objects, such as the flower Julie holds in this picture.

It is still unknown of why he does this to the other neighbors at the moment.

13. 📷 - He wishes he was taller. When playing dress up (Aka be one of his AUs), he would often put on Stilts to make himself bigger. That's why a lot of his AUs are giants.

14. 📸 - Speaking of which, yes. A lot of his AUs are the result of him dressing up and playing pretend with the other Neighbors. Pirate AU, Royal AU, Corpse Bride AU, even the Rainbow Factory one.

15. 🎥 - Y'know Buff Wally? The version of Wally that is scary yet hilarious at the same time. I think that's what Wally sees himself when he's dreaming about Y/N.

16. 📸 - For as long as the show went on, Wally's certain uh... "progressive beliefs" started leaking through somewhat on Television. Whether it'd be Anti-War, Anti-Discrimination, criticisms of materialism and religion, subtle references to Legalization of drugs, or "One Apple don't spoil the whole bunch" which might be talking about communities like 'Hippies'.

17. 📷 - In the mid 1960s when first starting out on entertaining children, Wally would often go to several summer camps across the American East Coast, hosting shows all about life lessons, interactivity, jokes, and playing pretend.
It was called "Wally's Wardrobe", and featured the first appearances of his many AUs. Including Pirate Wally, Vaquero Wally, Jock Wally, Toymaker, and much much more.

18. 📸 - The Rainbow Factory AU is Wally's MLP Fanfiction.

Throughout his 50 years with no friends, Wally is a huge fan of all generations of MLP, specifically FIM. He loves hanging out on the internet with bronies, and one of his favorite stories is the "The Rainbow Factory" Creepypasta.

So after some time, he decided to insert himself into the story with a more idealized version of himself. Taller, longer hair, handsome, bri'ish, and a super cool prosthetic hand. Things Wally would only wish he would have. Of course, the other neighbors were there, but Howdy in Particular was his victim because of Wally's personal connection and love/hate relationship with him.

19. 📸 - Wally makes money off the only Walmart that's close to Home. It's literally called "Wally World", a popular nickname for Walmart in the US South/Midwest.

This is how he pays his rent for Home. The reason he still shoplifts apples from Howdy is purely for fun.
