Another Day, Another Mystery

"Dipper, could you by any chance assist me for a moment please?" Grunkle Ford called from the lab.

Dipper was talking with Kimber. Mabel was attempting to eat a hundred Gummy Koalas in a minute. And Wendy was "working" behind the counter.

"Huh?" "Oh um sure Grunkle Ford!" "Be right there!" Dipper shouted. He hurried through the vending macine into Ford's lab.

"You alright Dipper?" "Your face is more red than my sweater." Ford asked him gestering to the clothing Mabel had made him.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine Great Uncle Ford, just um a little warm in here hehe." Dipper assured nervously.

Ford eyed him suspuciosly. "Are you sure your alright?" He inquired.  Dipper nodded.

"Really, I'm fine." He promised. The redness quickly left his pale face. He stood by Ford and promptly looked through the new journal.

"Dipper, are you sure your ok?" "Please do tell me what is troubling you." Ford insisted putting down the pen.

"Well....you know Kimber?" Dipper hesitated. Ford nodded. "Wendy's neice, yes I know her." He answered.

"Isn't she just so cool...and funny and smart and...beautiful?" Dipper rambled. Ford raised an eyebrow.

"What was that last part Dipper?" He asked. Dipper sighed. "Beautiful...she's just so awesome and I-

"Have romantic feelings for her?" Ford interuppted smiling. Dipper nodded blushing hard.

"Don't be ashamed my boy, even though I've never been in a relationship, I know the signs of romance." Ford assured.

Dipper laughed. "Thanks Great Uncle Ford." He replied. Ford returned the smile.

"Anytime." The two began to look through The journal once more. A while had passed and they both started feeling tired.

"Why don't we take a break?" "All of this coding is giving me a headace." Dipper suggested rubbing his head.

Ford agreed and put away the journal. Dipper went upstairs to see what Mabel, Kitty and Kimber were up to.

Then...he heard it...the exited screeching of five teenage girls...
Every teen boy's worst nightmare...

A sleepover!

*Cue Theme Song*

Dipper groaned. "Ugh not a sleepover!" He inmediatly left the room and back to the living room.

"Hey Dipper!" Wendy called walking over. Dipper smiled and fixed his hair.

"Hey Wendy!" He said cooly. "You might not want to go into the attic for a while..." He cautioned.

Wendy laughed. "Sleepover?" She guessed. Dipper nodded. "Yep." He told her about how they gave him a makeover at the last one.

She stifled a laugh. "Oh man, you better hope Kitty and Kimber don't get into that, or you'll never survive!" Wendy warned.

Dipper shuddered at the thought. "Yeah...that would be bad." He admitted looking anxiously at the partly open attic door.

Wendy laughed again. "Relax, I'm just messing with you!" "Besides, Kimber has never worn make up and probably never will." She assured.

Dipper nodded smiling in relief. "Oh, good!" "Kitty might try to paint my face rainbow colors though." He sighed.

"Dipper, can we give you a make over?!" Kitty shouted from the attic. Dipper froze and ducked behind the counter mouthing for Wendy to play it cool.

"Dipper!" Mabel called coming downstairs with the four other girls following.

"Wendy have you seen Dipper?" Kimber asked her cousin. Wendy kept a straight face and shrugged.

"Not since this morning, why?" She lied hoping her cousin would give up and leave.

"We want to bedazzle his face with Kitty's new bedazzler!" Mabel shouted happily. "And paint his face rainbow!" Kitty added.

Knew it! Dipper thought to himself crouching deeper to the floor struggling to stay quite.

"Oh, cool." Wendy fake smiled in agreement and looked outside. "Hey I think I saw Dipper run out, you'd better hurry and catch him!" She explained.

The group exchanged glances before running in the given direction leaving Wendy and Dipper alone in silence.

Once Dipper was sure it was safe, he climbed from his hiding spot struggling not to laugh.

"Thank you so much Wendy!" "Is there anything I can do to repay you?" He asked sincerely.

The redhead thought a moment before grinning. "Well...there is one thing." She admitted. Dipper promptly asked her what it was.

"Oh um ok!" He replied blushing. Yeesh how many girls did he have a crush on?

"Ok...I've got it!" He squeaked walking out of the bathroom in a grass skirt and a seashell bra with a lea and crown of flowers upon his head.

Wendy burst out laughing as she turned on the radio to Hawaian hula music and watched Dipper dance the hula.

Dipper danced red-faced and embarassed. Well, at least this is better than being painted rainbow and bedazzled by the girls!" He thought to himself.

Of course, at that moment of all moments to barge in, Kitty, Kimber, Candy and Grenda had to pick this one.

Dipper groaned as he knew he couldn't get away quick enough. Wendy turned up the music.

"Mabel get the camera!" Dipper heard Kitty shout from outside. And she did so pulling out her camera and scrapbook.

"Scrapbook-Ortunity!" She cheered taking some pictures while Kitty, Grenda and Candy recorded it on their phones.

"Ugh." Was all Dipper muttered as the girls laughed and took their pictures laughing. He looked toward Wendy who mouthed an apology.

He faked a smile in return even though he was still blushing like a cheery.

Once they finally stopped taking pictures, Dipper made a break for it to the basement.

Ford stared at him in confusion as he'd forgotten to take off the rediculious outfit.

"Um...I don't wanna know." The scientist muttered once he saw the costume.

Dipper was still trying to catch his breath from running so fast. "Yeah...you don't." Dipper coughed.

"Let me guess, Sleepover and Makeovers?" Ford guessed turning to Dipper.

He nodded with a sigh. "Yup...mind if I crash here until Mabel's friends leave?" Dipper asked hopefully.

Ford nodded laughing a bit. "Be my guest....by the way you might want to take off that....costume." He warned.

Dipper smiled and changed into his normal clothes tossing the hula costume in the closet.

"Hey Dipper?" Wendy called from outside the basement. Dipper gulped fearing the girls were still up there.

"Relax man, their in the attic." Wendy called again. This time Dipper came up and was relieved to see Wendy alone.

"Hey Dipper...um I just wanted to say I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't have laughed at you...are you still mad?" She asked worriedly.

Dipper shook his head. "No, mean...of course not I was never mad just kinda well...

"Embarrassed?" She guessed. He nodded. "Yeah, but I guess I kinda deserved it for trying to avoid sleepovers." He replied.

"Cool, always friends?" She asked holding her fist out. Dipper smiled and did the same. "Always friends..." He added.

She punched him lightly in the shoulder and he did the same laughing.

He then saw the group run back downstairs with the make up and was ready to run for it.

"Hey Dipper, wanna help us paint Grunkle Stan's face in his sleep and bedazzle his face?" Kimber asked.

Dipper sighed in relief and blushed a bit. "S-Sure, sounds great." He smiled. Kimber grabbed his arm and they tip toed to Stan's room.

"Well, Maybe sleepovers aren't that terrible after all....more or less."
