Previously on Welcome Back

"Speaking of staying here. All of you can. I'm sure that Harry told you about the Order of the Phoenix, because of that, I will spend most of my time here. I think it will be for the best if you guys just stayed here. Hermione, I have already talked to your parents and they gave you their permission. All of you just go home right now and pack your stuff. You guys can come back tonight "

Everyone looked at Mrs. Weasley in awe but then they all started celebrating. The Weasleys all ran to the fireplace dragging Hermione with them. They all rushed home but not before promising Harry that they would be back tonight.

Meanwhile with Lily and James

Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus went back to the sitting room with Molly this time. They all sat down and got themselves comfortable before they started.

"So Molly, we wanted to tell you some new information that we have gotten from Dumbledore," Sirius said grimly starting off the conversation

"Yea, we have the date for the first meeting. It is 2 weeks from now. Dumbledore said that we will be having all of the meetings here in Grimmauld Place. Dumbledore also said that he has work for all of us to do but he won't be here for all of the meetings. He will conduct this first one and then leave it to us to come up with dates and report to each other" Lily explained

"Why isn't Dumbledore coming to all of the meetings?" Molly asked curiously

Remus shrugged and answered "He is the headmaster of a school. I am sure that there are a lot of things he must do in the school along with a few other errands he must have"

Molly nodded and then asked "Why did you only gather me here? What about the others?"

James ran his hand through his hair and said "because Dumbledore said that he wants you to pass along the word to everyone. We can't because of various reasons such as, some of us aren't supposed to be alive right now, some of us are wanted criminals, and some of us have that time of the month coming up. As for why Dumbledore isn't telling everyone, he thinks that he is being monitored closely and that it would be difficult for him to send 50 owls without them being noticed."

Molly chuckled at this and said "I'll inform the others with Arthur, he can tell the members we have at the ministry while I tell the others"

"Thank you so much, Molly," Lily said gratefully and then got up to give Molly a hug which Molly gratefully returned.

"How about letting the kids stay here for the rest of the summer?" Lily asked her "I know Harry is missing them all so much"

"That is a great idea, I will tell them the news" Molly agreed wholeheartedly

"James, Lily, you two should get to the ministry" Remus warned them

"Well, I should get going now too, I have to make lunch and help Ron, Ginny, Fred and George pack," Molly said getting up to leave, she said goodbye to everyone and then used the floo to get back home.

When Molly was gone Lily and James got up to go change into something more formal than their old jeans and faded shirts. They had both bought new clothing a couple of days ago so they had plenty of outfits to choose from.

They both showered and changed, Lily was wearing a skin colored blouse and a grey skirt with a beige handbag, while James was wearing grey formal trousers with a grey sweater, and a black jacket (as shown in the pics above).

James looked at his wife and breathlessly said "You look stunning"

"You don't look that bad either" Lily said laughing and giving her husband a peck on the cheeks

James blushed and they both went downstairs where they saw that Harry, Sirius, and Remus were waiting for them. Remus and Harry were also wearing formal clothes. Harry was wearing an emerald green shirt with black jeans and Remus was wearing a blue checkered shirt with grey pants (look at picture above).

"Why are you two dressed up?" Lily asked her hands on her hips

"Mum, don't you think you need witnesses. They will have a better time believing us that you" Harry reasoned with her

Lily tried to find a point to argue about but she couldn't. Harry saw she was defeated when she sighed and removed her hands from her hips.

"Fine, but make sure you take your medications and your inhaler," Lily said giving up.

Harry took his medication and grabbed his inhaler. Lily made sure that he had it on him before going out of Grimmauld Place. They all got out and apparated, Harry with James, into a secluded corner in an alley a block away from the ministries guest entrance.

They all walked a block and then they all somehow crammed into the tiny telephone box. Harry somehow managed to press 62442. As soon as he pressed it a woman cool voice filled the telephone box.

"Welcome to the Ministry of Magic. Please state your name and business." The voice said

"Hi, Harry Potter, and Remus Lupin here to escort Lily and James Potter to a conference with the minister."

"Thank you," said the cool female voice. "Visitor, please take the badge and attach it to the front of your robes."

There was a click and a rattle, and Harry saw something slide out of the metal chute where returned coins usually appeared. He picked it up: It was a square silver badge with Harry Potter, Witness. Remus had the same one with his name on it while Lily and James had a square badge with their names and conference as well.

"Visitor to the Ministry, you are required to submit to a search and present your wand for registration at the security desk, which is located at the far end of the Atrium."

The floor of the telephone box shuddered. They were sinking slowly into the ground. James and Lily watched apprehensively as the pavement rose up past the glass windows of the telephone box until darkness closed over their heads. Then they could see nothing at all; they could only hear a dull grinding noise as the telephone box made its way down through the earth. After about a minute, though it felt much longer to them, a chink of golden light illuminated his feet and, widening, rose up their bodies, until it hit them in the face and they had to blink to stop their eyes from watering.

The Ministry of Magic wishes you a pleasant day," said the woman's voice.

The door of the telephone box sprang open and they all stepped out of it. They submitted their wands for checking and ignored all the looks James and Lily got. James and Lily both wished that they had altered their appearances but they knew that that would put them in an awkward situation.

They headed into an elevator and were glad to find that they were the only ones in it. After that, when the elevator stopped at the floor they wanted to go to they all removed themselves from the elevator and headed into Fudge's office. Remus knocked on Fudge's door and they all went in on the sound of "come in". They saw that four chairs were set up for them and that Kingsley was already here standing in the corner.

"My, My, so what Albus said was correct, Lily and James have come back to life!" Fudge exclaimed shaking all of their hands. He gestured for them all to sit down and once they did he said "Now, I am assuming that you are the real Lily and James seeing that Mr. Lupin and your son haven't cursed you yet. Albus has also told me that he had used veritaserum on you but we are just going to do another check if that's all right with you" Fudge told them and they all nodded. Fudge motioned Kingsley forward and said "This is Kingsley one of our most important Aurors. He will be testing you with veritaserum today"

Kingsley then went on to put 3 drops of veritaserum in Lily mouth as she volunteered to go first.

"What is your name?" Kingsley asked her

"Lily Potter" Lily answered

"Who are you married too?"

"James Potter"

"Who is your son?"

"Harry Potter"

Kingsley asked Lily a few more questions and then asked the same questions to all of them. He declared them honest after half an hour of questioning. Fudges face fell a little since he was dismayed that the Potters had actually come back to life but he smiled anyway.

"Well, It's a miracle. I can't believe that Lily and James Potter have come back to life."

James nodded and said "Before we go we have a few questions'

Fudge nodded and then James continued "We want to request a trial for Sirius Black with me. My wife, my son, and my friend as a witness, and we were also wondering whether me, my wife, and my friends can join the Aurors again"

"You have to set up an appointment with Kingsley here to apply for an Auror position as for Sirius' trial, I suppose I have no choice. I will owl you the details when I get them" Fudge reluctantly said

James nodded and then Harry asked Fudge "since we are under the influence of veritaserum right now can I please clear myself? Can I prove that I used magic outside of school for protection?"

Fudge looked at Kingsley and Kingsley nodded.

"Very well then, please explain your story," Fudge said gritting his teeth.

Harry then proceeded to tell the tale of how dementors attacked him and his cousin while Kingsley wrote down everything he said. When he was done Fudge said "I will send this to the necessary people and you will know the outcome in a few days. Normally we would have put you on trial but we already have quite a few people in for a trial"

"Thank you," Harry said wondering why Fudge was being nice to them

After discussing a few other details they left Fudges room with Kingsley who told them "You can fill in these application forms (he summoned them from his office and handed them to James) and I will tell you my answer in the next order meeting" Kingsley whispered the least part and left them.

James, Lily, Harry, and Remus then used the floo and went home feeling happier than they had in a while
