At dawn, everything was quiet, Lily was asleep in Harry's room in a sofa and everyone else was asleep outside, what Lily didn't notice, however, was the fact that Harry's heart monitor started beeping faster and his eyes were blinking, Harry soon opened them and laid down there, looking around, not making a sound in order to not wake Lily up.

Harry was up for several hours, remaining as quiet as a mouse, because he didn't want to wake Lily up, but also, Harry couldn't feel his voice inside of him, he didn't think that he could speak, Terrifying thoughts ran through Harry's head, 'what if I lost my voice forever?' 'did I lose any of my other senses?' 'can I hear or is the room really quiet' Harry's mind was occupied by multiple things now, his thoughts, the fact that he couldn't speak, and the fact that he was still in so much pain, so when Lily woke up, Harry didn't notice, he didn't notice her standing beside him, he didn't notice her calling his name, he just kept lying in his bed fiddling with his thumbs. Harry only knew that Lily was there when she put a hand on his shoulder and called out his name again.

Harry then jerked his head in Lily's direction and saw her smiling sadly at him, her eyes watering.

"Harry, how are you? I was going to call the nurse but I thought you would want to see a familiar face before" she said

Harry just couldn't keep it in after that, he started crying, he leaned in his mother and started crying into her shoulder

"What's wrong honey?" Lily asked worriedly

Harry tried to tell her about everything, How he was in pain, how he felt bad for making everyone worry about him, how hearing everyone talk to him made him feel, how he had black moments when people were talking to him, but, he couldn't speak, he tried to say something but he failed, not being able to make a sound.

Lily then started panicking and went outside and yelled for a nurse, her yelling woke up the Weasleys, Hermione, James, Sirius, and Remus with a start. Then Laura came immediately and she forbade the rest of the people to come inside at which she heard a lot of protests.

Laura scanned Harry's body with her wand and when she was done she told Lily:

"It is surprising that he woke up so quickly, no doubt he's in a lot of pain but that's normal, and for the reason why he couldn't talk, Well its a side-effect, most people remain unconscious for a little longer when they have this procedure but Harry is special. I don't know how or why he is awake this early but he won't have his voice back for a couple of days and when it does, it will be really weak and it will obviously take time for him to heal completely" Laura explained

Lily eyes were watering up again but she held her tears back because she knew that she had to stay strong for Harry. Harry, however, was shaking, Lily went over to his bed and hugged him and rubbed his back in order to calm him, it worked in a few minutes and Harry was starting to take deep breaths.

Laura then gave Harry one last checkup and hooked him up to an IV machine.

"There are pain killers in this" Laura explained

After Laura left all of the Weasleys and the Marauders came in.

Lily put her hands on her hips and said: "I thought I told you all to go home and get a good nights sleep?"

The Marauders just shrugged while the Weasleys and Hermione just turned red.

"How is he?" Asked James looking at Harry

Lily sighed and said "He's in pain but Laura gave him some painkillers for that, he also lost his voice temporarily "

"WHAT?" Everyone exclaimed in different ways.

"Since he's awake earlier than most people who have had the procedure the side effects are more serious but it's only temporary" Lily explained

"You know what? I think that everyone should get a chance to talk to Harry alone" Lily said and went outside of the door after kissing Harry on the cheek

James stubbornly insisted that he go first at which everyone agreed to immediately and left the room.

James sat down on Harry's bed and gave Harry a pad of paper and a pen and let him communicate with writing.

"How are you?" James asked worry evident in his voice

"I don't know, it hurts but its also numb at the same time," Harry wrote

"I know, I know, but at least it's over. I just want you to know that I'm here for you, I will support you through thick and thin. I love you" James told him

"We will play Quidditch together before I leave right?" Harry wrote

James laughed "of course we will" and then left after ruffling Harry's head because Sirius and Remus entered the room

Harry smiled when he saw them and wrote down "You don't have to hide anymore, we can be a family"

Sirius smiled and ruffled Harrys head "of course we will"

"you're going to live with us too, right Moony?" Harry asked hopefully

"I don't know cub," Remus said

Harry smirked and wrote "yea, you're going to be with Tonks"

Remus blushed and said, "I have to go to the bathroom, I'll see you later cub" and walked out. Sirius started bursting with laughter and Harry looked really weird because he was making the motion of laughing but wasn't really laughing.

When they both stopped Sirius ruffled Harry's hair and said, "We have to do this more often, Now I have to leave or Ron and Hermione might kill me"

Harry smirked and Sirius hugged him and left the room only to be followed by Ron and Hermione.

When they entered Harry smirked at the both of them

"What's wrong mate?" Ron asked nervously

"nothing," Harry wrote trying to look innocent

"Do you remember what I told you?" Hermione asked playing with her hair nervously

Harry just smirked in response "both of you" he wrote

"what did he/she say?" They both asked

Harry just shrugged

"you'll find out soon enough," he wrote mischievously

Hermione and Ron looked at each other questioningly but dropped the subject for now

"How are you feeling?" Hermione asked

"the truth if you don't mind" Ron added

Harry rolled his eyes and wrote "I have a wicked headache, my whole body hurts but its numb at the same time, my throat feels really weird, I don't know it just hurts bad but the IV helps a bit"

Hermione and Ron looked at him sympathetically but cut it out after Harry gave them a look that said 'this is not how this works'

After a few minutes of chatting, they left and Fred and George came in

"Hey Harry," They both said at the same time

"What's up?" Harry wrote

"How are you feeling?" George asked

"I swear if anyone else asks me that I will punch that person," Harry wrote fiercely

"Woah, someones moody" Fred said raising his hands in defeat

Harry sighed and wrote "sorry, it just hurts a lot, I'm tired of telling people that"

Fred and George nodded understandingly "It can be hard to tell people how you feel, it's fine," said Fred

Fred and George were going to say something else but were interrupted by a knock at the door

"That's all the time Gred and Forge have mate, sorry," George said and they both left the room

Next Bill and Charlie came in

Harry looked at them eagerly

"What?" Charlie asked

Harry just shrugged and with a mischievous look on his face he wrote: "Are you going to introduce yourselves while I'm awake?"

Charlie and Bill looked embarrassed but grinned when they saw the cheeky look on Harry's face

"The names Bill, at your service, I work in the Gringotts in Egypt, I am the coolest Weasley and yea" Bill introduced himself

"your speech is filled with dragon dung, The names Charlie, dragon keeper in Romania and I am the best Weasley" Charlie introduced himself

Bill rolled his eyes "So umm Harry, did you hear what we said while you were, you know in your coma?"

Harry motioned them both forwards and when they both came in he hugged them both

"Thank you, I really appreciate it," Harry wrote

They both smiled and talked about Quidditch for a while before Ginny came in

"Hey Harry," Ginny said

"I am so sorry, I don't remember what you said to me when you talked to me, I remember you coming in but I blacked out after that"

"oh uh, it was nothing important, how are you"

Harry then made a strained face

"What's wrong?" Ginny asked her eyes filled with concern

What happened next, Ginny almost didn't believe it, It was so low that if she didn't see Harry's mouth move, she wouldn't have believed it

"I think I got my voice back" Harry whispered in a raspy voice
