I heard a little rumor
About a family's potted plant
It started out small,
A little gift from their family

I heard it smelled kinda funny
And it tasted kinda strange
But the family still took it in
And that's when things began to change...

They weren't really happy
The parents, both ways
And the kids? And the animals there?
Well,
They'd seen better days

But the little plant bore many seeds
And spores of all kinds
And small little changes started to sprout
Into molds, and weeds, and grime.

But these things seemed quite nice at first,
Little buds of sprouting joy
But soon thereafter, the fog drew in
And things started to feel devoid

Say, have you seen the zombie ant?
They're brought to life by little mushrooms.
After a while, it cracks their skull in half
And spreads it's spores, like seeds of doom

Say, have you seen that 80's movie?
With the big, scary dentist, and that plant guy?
I heard that plant was real, man.
People fall for it all the time.

I heard a rumor that someone's pretty little plant spread like a disease.
I heard a rumor that a family loved a potted plant more than they loved their own child

I heard a rumor that it ruined their lives,
Tried to look real pretty, in disguise
And spread false joy, like little lies
