01│THE RETURN

THE BLONDE 5'9ft girl walked up the stairs with a small smile on her face. Her blue eyes wondered through the group of students. The friends, and partners hugged each other and laughed remembering funny moments during their vacation. The girl rolled her eyes at the couple making out in the fountain, trying to catch up on their lost time. It was the same old thing.

The girl was so out of it that she didn't noticed a figure sneaking up behind her. The figure yelled at her hear, making her jump. Domino turned around to the laughing wildcat. She narrowed her eyes at captain of the basketball team.

"It wasn't funny." Domino snapped at him. Troy Bolton rolled his eyes.

"It was, you have to admit it Dom." Chad said, holding his basketball ball. The ball was partly his other arm. Domino rolled her eyes, turning to Troy; who was smiling like an idiot.

"You are so lucky you are the captain of the basketball team. If you weren't, I would have threw you to the basket myself." Domino told him, smirking. The rest of the team, let out a series of "oohs". Chad smiled proudly at Domino. Troy was out of words, which only seemed to happened when Domino talked. Chad high fived her. Domino saluted him, and started to walk away, but Troy ran to her side. The boy wouldn't admit it, but he did miss her company.

"How was your break?" Troy asked, starting a conversation with her. The blonde rolled her eyes, smiling at him. "Why are you smiling?" He asked her. This just made her smile widen more. Troy rolled his eyes, shaking his head in denial. "Did you met a guy or something? Don't girls smile because of it?" Troy kept asking her. He had talked with many girls before, but no one like Domino.

"Yes, girls smile when they meet a guy that they like." Domino explained to him. Troy was the one smiling now due to the blunt statement. "However, I didn't met a guy." She added.

"So, does when you smile: Does it mean that you like me? You know, you do smile all the time I'm with you." Troy pointed out, leaning against the locker that was right next to hers. Domino rolled her eyes, taking her books out.

"And what makes you think I like you?" Domino said, giving him a challenging look; which Troy gladly took. However, before he could say another word a figure popped behind Domino hugging her. Domino laughed, while turning around to Sam; her best friend other than Troy and Chad. "Sammy," She said, hugging him. Sam hugged her back. Troy looked at the both of them with a tint of jealousy. Sam pulled away, smiling at Troy.

"Hey, Bolton." Sam greeted him. Troy nodded at him with a fake smile.

"Sam," Troy said back. Domino rolled her eyes, patting Troy in the shoulder.

"You guys always have this competition against each other, and I still don't understand why." Domino whispered to Troy. Troy rolled his eyes. "Be nice to him. He is my best friend after all." Domino added, before looking a Sam with a small smile.

"Bolton," Someone yelled down the hall. Both Domino and Troy turned towards the source. Chad smirked at the site of Troy trying to flirt with his best friend. "Stop, flirting with Dom and get your ass over here." Chad yelled. This made Sam snicker and Domino to blush along with Troy. Troy scratch the back of his neck, glaring at Chad.

"Go," Domino told him. She gave him one last smile before walking away of the scene, Sam right on her heels. "Oh god," She mumbled under her breath. Sam smirked, looking at her.

"You are so red." He said, with a proud look. "I went to see you, and saw how you were handling the situation. I was surprised you were flirting back." He added. Domino pushed him slightly with annoyance. "You are interested in him, and you haven't told him yet. Why?" Sam asked her curious.

"Because, he probably doesn't feel the same. Plus, he doesn't know my special talent. If I tell him, I have a high risk of it getting it out. I mean, I trust him, but you know how people are around here. All in their little groups. I don't care about the groups, you know that; but I want my talent to be kept a secret."

"Why? You are talented, you just said so yourself. The talent you have is unique and should be shared."  Sam said to her. "You play the piano, you sing." Sam said.

"You sing too, very well actually; but I don't see you roaming around the halls bragging about it." Domino pointed.

"What I'm saying is that, maybe you should be on the school play this year. I feel things are going to be different this year. Who knowns, maybe you would impress Troy with your amaizing vocal chords and moves." Sam told her. The tall blonde rolled her eyes, smiling.

"And steal Sharpay her musical. She will have a heart attack. God, that musical is more precious to her than her Prada shoes. I'm not that mean." Domino told him. Sam rolled his eyes, pulling her in the direction of their first class.

"Dom, I think Sharpay had enough spotlight to last a life time. I think it's time for yours." Sam told her, opening the door for her. The girl took a seat, looking around the Drama classroom. "Just considered."

"I will considered, if you join too. That way if things go South, then I could drag you with me." Dom joked. Sam, took a seat next to her rolling his eyes.

"Hey, Dom." Jason yelled across the classroom, catching her attention. "Think fast." He said, throwing the ball toward her face. Dom caught it just in time. Troy hit the back of Jason's head. Jason glared at his captain. Chad followed Troy's action, walking to one of the seats. "What did I do?" He asked both of them. Troy just shook his head and denial, taking a seat next to Dom. Chad sat behind him, looking at Dom.

"You are so damn lucky you have good reflexes." Chad mumbled. Sam chuckled at his statement.

"It isn't the firs time I had to protect my face from a basketball. If you hang out with the East High's basketball team, you are pretty much to it." Dom told him, smirking.

"When did we ever almost hit you with a ball?" Chad asked, offended.

"There was that one time where you guys were fooling around Troy's house and you the ball almost hits me." Dom said to him.

"Oh, and that time when Dom scared Troy so badly that he threw the ball at her to defend himself. Good thing she duck it just in time." Sam added. Chad laughed at this one.

"I wasn't scare." Troy debated, defending himself. Chad held back a laugh, making a fake understanding face.

"Right, because you throw balls at anyone that you pass by." Dom told him, sarcasm dripping with each word.  A chorus of 'ohhs' were heard throughout the room. Troy just sighed, sinking deeper into his seat. Dom rolled her eyes, not acknowledging the new girl coming in. The girl who later be the sister she never had. Dom turned around to face the class, not noticing Troy looking at her with a small smile.

I'm so excited for this. If you look at the cast, you will see Sam is acted by Grant Gustin. I also did include, on the cast list, the cast of Step Up. I love the movies and the characters, which gave me the idea of including them here in this story.
