00; Prologue

"Dude, shut up." Ryan hissed, ramming her elbow into her brother as she focused on the split screen, her thumbs dancing across the controller.

"Please, you know it's true." Stiles scoffed, a shit eating grin on his face as he elbowed her back. "You've been in love with him since like, kindergarten."

"Bitch!" The brunette screeched, her mouth wide open as she rapidly hit the LT button. "Revive me, dipshit!"

"Not until you admit that you have the hots for him."

"Fine! I do!" She yelled, bouncing in her beanbag as she stared at the animated zombies. "Now revive me!"

"Nope." Stiles chuckled, dodging his twin's fist. "Not until you say he rocks your socks."

"Seriously?" Ryan groaned, only to have her eyes widen again as he made a suicidal move that would ruin their two day gaming streak. "Scott McCall rocks my socks!"

"Oops, sorry." The spastic teen winced as a zombie chomped down on him, his expression not the least bit regretful. "Streak broken."

"You little-" Ryan chucked her controller at him and lunged towards her brother, only taking seconds for the pair to be wrestling each other.

"Chill!" Stiles screamed as she sat on his chest, blocking his airflow. "I'm sorry, just-ow! Really?"

"It took us two freaking days to get to that level you son of a-"

They both sat up quickly at the sound of the police scanner hidden underneath her bed, the twins sharing a devilish smile.

"Call Scott."

"I'm telling you, it's a bad idea." Ryan singsonged, an amused expression on her face as she watched Stiles pull himself onto the roof. "Like seriously, you're an idiot."

"Love you too, sis." Stiles muttered, perching himself on the edge carefully. "Now, shush."

"I hope you fall and break something." She hummed, rocking back and forth on her heels as she looked up at the sky.

"Ryan. Shut up." He hissed, nearly slipping on one of the tiles. The hallway light flicked on inside, making her duck down beside the porch.

Ryan had to bite down on her cheek and cover her mouth as Scott walked out of the house slowly, baseball bat in hand. Stiles was in for a surprise.

Scott slowly made his was to the railing, peering over it for a few moment before Stiles swung down, both of them letting out screams. Ryan burst into a fit of laughter, gripping the railing and holding her stomach

"What the hell are you guys doing?" Scott yelled, moving his bat for emphasis.

"You weren't answering your phone!" Stiles gasped, waving his arms around from his upside down position. "Why do you have a bat?"

"I thought you were a predator!" He lowered the bat as Ryan climbed over the railing, wiping at her eyes.

"Predator?" She grinned, her bun falling out as she shook her head. "That was golden."

"Look, I know it's late but you gotta hear this." Stiles began, arms swinging as he hung there. "I saw my dad leave he house twenty minutes ago. Dispatch called, they're bringing in every officer from Beacon department and even state police."

"For what?"

"Two joggers found a body in the woods." He stated, dropping down from the ledge.

"A dead body?" Scott asked, Ryan pinching the bridge of her nose and shaking her head before smacking his arm.

"No, a body of water." She scoffed, rolling her eyes as he rubbed his arm. "Yes, dumbass, a dead body."

"You mean like murdered?" He questioned as Stiles hopped over the railing.

"Nobody knows yet." The spastic teen shrugged. "Just that it was a girl, in her twenties."

"Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?" Stiles and Ryan shared an excited look before turning back to their best friend.

"That's the best part." She squealed, bouncing slightly. "They only found half."

"We're going."

The jeep pulled up to the preserve, the three teens hopping out and heading past the sign.

"Are we seriously going this?" Scott whined, Ryan pushing him a bit.

"You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." Stiles scoffed, flicking on the flashlight.

"I was trying to get a good nights sleep before practice tomorrow." He trudged along behind them, earning an eye roll.

"Because sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." Ryan snorted, kicking at a rock. "Don't worry, I'll still make you guys a sign. 'Benchwarmers: handing out towels since '08.'"

"No, because I'm playing this year." He insisted, the twins sharing a look. "In fact, I'm making first line."

"Hey, that's the spirit." Stiles chuckled, stepping over a tree root. "Every one should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one."

"Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" Scott asked, making them pause for a moment.

"Huh," Stiles hummed, nodding his head. "I didn't even think about that."

"And uh, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?"

"Minor details." Ryan shrugged, grabbing a rock to help her climb up the hill. "Unless we die, then it might not be so minor."

"Comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail." Scott complained breathlessly, falling behind a bit and leaning against a tree. "Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight huh?"

He pulled out his inhaler and shook it quickly as he wheezed before catching up. Ryan and Stiles dived down onto the ground and Scott followed suit, watching in awe. From where they laid they could see the police scouting the perimeter with flashlights and hear dogs barking.

"C'mon!" Stiles grunted, scrambling up and darting off.

"Dammit." Ryan hissed, her sleeve getting caught on one of the branches as Scott took a hit on his inhaler. She finally pulled it off and helped him up, the two chasing after him. "Stiles! Slow down!"

They ran around blindly, calling out for him quietly until they heard a dog barking, Ryan shoving Scott against a tree. She put her hand over his mouth and pressed herself against him, her breathing shallow as she heard her father shout.

"Hold on, hold on." Sheriff Stilinski groaned, calling off the dog. "This little delinquent belongs to me."

"Dad, how you doing?" Stiles greeted, Ryan slowly pulling her hand away and shushing Scott.

"So, do you listen in to all my phone calls?"

"No," Stiles began, but shook his head after receiving a look of annoyance. "Not the boring ones."

"Now, where's your usual partners in crime?"

"Scott? Nah, Scott's home, something about getting a good night's sleep for back to school tomorrow." Stiles lied, his breathing heavy. "Just, me and Ryan."

"Scott? Ryan? You out there?" Ryan groaned and pushed herself off of Scott, waving her arms in surrender.

"Just me, dad." Sheriff Stilinski let out a long sigh and grabbed their collars, dragging them along.

"Well, I'm gonna walk you back to your car, and us three," Sheriff began, Ryan shooting daggers at her brother for selling her out. "We're gonna have a conversation about something called invasion of privacy."

"Yes, sir."

Not edited.

So, Ryan has a thing for scott, but that doesn't mean he will be her love interest. I will be focusing on the character, not her love interest. Not saying she won't have one (or more than one), just don't expect anything to be cannon.
