● Part Thirteen ●

POV Izuku Midoriya

Everything Todoroki said had only left confusion in my head. Vanished? Into thin air? That couldn't be true.. Unless the guy has some vanishing quirk. But then it has to work on others too because otherwise it won't explain how the kid disappeared with him.

"Deku..you're muttering".

I flinch and wake up from my thoughts. Was I? I didn't even notice it myself. Uraraka is looking right at me. We seem to be alone in the classroom by now. I look around, only to find that I'm right. Only us two are left. Have I been thinking of an answer for that long..?

"S-sorry!", I quickly apologize.

Uraraka smiles, and then giggles. It makes me smile too, and my stomach seems to jump for a second. I swallow and then sigh.

"Do you think this will make sure we solve this quickly..?", I ask carefully.

It's a question I'm not sure I want the answer to. I'm scared that this won't speed up the investigation at all.
Uraraka looks at the ground and sighs softly.

"I don't know", she then honestly answers.

I accept it. It's better than 'no'. So I accept it. We stay there in silence for what seems like a lifetime.

The answer I was afraid of eventually seemed to be the answer that was true. It didn't speed up the investigation. It took three more years, even. 22 years. That's how I old I was when it finally happened. Uraraka was 22 as well. We were in our last year on UA. We were almost done. Almost graduated. But the battle against the villain group was just beginning.

It was a normal day. We were in the main room in the dormatory. Uraraka and me were sitting on the couch. She took me here to tell me something important, and I was really nervous. It sounded so important and serious. We had been spending more and more time lately and I expected something. But I felt like I couldn't expect that. I liked her. That was clear. I wasn't good at hiding it. I bit my lip and Uraraka took a deep breath.

"I.. really need to tell you something..", she started.

I leaned forward and swallowed, nodding so she knew I was ready. She didn't speak and I tilted my head a little, curious as to what she would have to say.

But she didn't say anything. It was like it happened in a flash. She closed her eyes, leaned forward and pressed her lips onto mine. My eyes widened automatically and my entire body started shaking as my head turned as red as a tomato.

The kiss seemed to last an eternity. I didn't mind, of course. I wanted it to last forever. Sadly, she pulled back after a while, her cheeks more red than ever. I started chuckling.

"That wasn't exactly something to say was it", I said, to immediately break the silence.

Uraraka smiled and then chuckled softly too, dropping herself in my arms. I instinctively wrapped my arms around her and we laughed together for a while before we snuggled together.

Who was I kidding. There were no words needed. We understood each other already. We didn't have to say anything. It was all clear. It was peacefull. I thought I'd fall asleep if Mirio didn't enter the room loudly and yell at us.

"GUYS WAKE UP!! COME ON!"", he yelled.

I jumped up, and Uraraka almost fell over because of the sudden shock.

"Mirio? What's going on?", I asked, trying to stay calm. He was clearly panicked.

"They.. they found one..", he panted. He now showed how tired he was.

I looked at him confused. What did they find? What happened?

"They found a kid.. A kid escaped.. a kidnapped kid escaped".
