● Part Nine ●

POV Izuku Midoriya

You already guessed it. Indeed. I was staring at Uraraka as soon as she appeared again. Waiting. Waiting for an explanation. To know what happened. She just looked at me. And I looked back at her. She swallowed a little, as far as I could see.

"What-..". I could only come that far. She interrupted me.

"I'd...rather calm down for now.. and just be alone..maybe rest for a bit..", she said softly.

I nodded as a response, but I felt a little defeated. I wanted to help her, but I couldn't force her. Even so, I felt a little useless.

"Yeah.. alright..". I showed her once again I understood. Surprisingly, everyone around us kept their mouths shut. They just watched the conversation we had. As far as you could call it a conversation.

"I will tell you..what happened.. when I'm calmer..alright?", she mumbled. She was still talking softly, but like she was focused on me and no one else around.

I nodded once again and smiled a little. Uraraka, luckily, smiled back at me, like she was telling me it was going to be alright, and then she left. Probably off to her dorm. I watched her leave and took a deep sigh when she was out of sight.

"What was that all about?", Nejire asked carefully. I looked her way.

"To be honest, I have no idea either. I think..we will find out soon enough", I answered. Then I looked back to the place where Uraraka got out of sight. I took a deep breath and bit my lip. And then I thought of that boy again.

The guy with the purple-brownish hair, who had randomly walked into the meeting room. The teachers seemed to know who he was though, so I wasn't suspicious of him. He just lit up this light in my memory. Like I met him before. I frowned and looked around me, trying to find the boy. As everyone was scattering and leaving to either their house or their dorms, I got an eye on him. I immediately got closer.

He was leaning against a wall with a small smile on his face. He seemed to be thinking.

"Hey..uhm..what's your name?", I asked carefully. To my relief, he looked up. His smile didn't disappear.

"Oh, hey there! You're...wait..Izuku?". Then he just stares at me with huge eyes. I stared back at him and slowly started nodding. No one was here anymore, only us two.

"You're..". The light in my memory started shining even brighter. I remembered. I remembered exactly who he was.

"Hikiro?".

Hikiro Katsuma. He was in the same class as me and Kacchan in kindergarten. When Kacchan's quirk had manifested, Hikiro's hadn't yet. He was a sensitive soul, and so Kacchan saw him as a victim. One day, when Kacchan was bullying him, I stood up for him. He was the guy I protected in kindergarten.

We seperated when we went to elementary school, and since that day we hadn't seen each other anymore. Until today. I got a huge smile on my face, and so did he. And in the blink of an eye we hugged each other tightly.

"I didn't think I'd ever see you again! You made UA? That's so cool!", Hikiro said. He looked very excited and I couldn't blame him. So was I.

"Yeah! I'm so happy with it! I'm working really hard to become a hero!", I answered honestly.

"But..you didn't have a quirk right..? You were on of the few who didn't..right?", Hikiro then began to realize. I could clearly feel myself become nervous.

"W-well.. uhm.. my quirk came along a little late. Eventually, it manifested anyway!", I answered, quickly made up the entire thing. I was hoping he wouldn't ask for what my quirk was, and I felt my head calming down when he didn't.

"That's really cool! I'm happy you got a quirk anyway! I chose to do general studies on a different school though. My quirk never came..". He looked down, pretty sad.

That's when I felt a little guilty for lying about my quirk. I bit my lip, but I knew I couldn't mention anything about it.

"Oh.. I'm really sorry..". I was sorry for him, but it was also a little bit to say sorry for lying. At that moment, it didn't help me to feel less guilty.

We stayed quiet for a moment, but I decided to break the silence. This was a happy moment. Not a sad one.

"Anyway! What are you here for?", I asked him curiously. He looked up again, happy that I changed the subject.

"Well, I'm really good at strategy, according to a lot of teachers. I stand out in this region, from every school. So I was asked if I wanted to help in this big mission. Of course I said yes!", he explained. He looked really proud and I was happy for him in that aspect.

"That's great! I'm sure you'll be of great use to all of us!". I smiled at him widely.

He nodded. His expression changed a bit though. He looked me straight in the eyes, asking a rethorical question that sent shivers through my spine.

"I hope so! Let's just hope the villains will not be violently active in the meantime. I mean, nobody likes a villain...right?".
