IZZY WANTED TO CRY, but her body wouldn't listen to her. She wanted to scream and kick and fight, but all she could do was sit against the fridge where Klumpsky had dragged her, her body positioned so she could see his next victim tied up to a dining chair, just as helpless as she was. She could move her eyes, but that was about it – everything else was only a dream, and she hated every second of it. She was painfully aware of everything, still able to think, but there was nothing she could do about the panic and horror inside her. She ached to tell the woman tied up in her own kitchen that it was going to be okay, that this wasn't going to be her end, but Klumpsky had made sure that wouldn't be possible.

"I've never had an audience before. How exciting!" Klumpsky thought out loud, standing right in front of Izzy with a calculating gaze. "You would have made a very pretty victim, too. Sadly, I only have flowers for one woman tonight", he tutted, and with a wave of nausea, Izzy yearned for a single punch to send him flying.

This reminded her of Michael all too much – she had been tied up, then, but helpless all the same, left for her captor to toy with. It was a sickening feeling she had never wanted to feel again, yet here she found herself again.

"Izzy?" Struggling an exhale of relief, the sound of Kai's voice brought Izzy indescribable comfort – although terror quickly washed it out, as the man entered the apartment and Klumpsky reached for a knife, circling around the other entrance to the kitchen to make his way behind Kai. And Izzy? Well, she couldn't do a single thing about it.

"Izzy, holy shit", Kai continued when she recognized the woman sitting on the floor, his gun holstered as he crouched down in front of her and cupped her face in both hands. Izzy's head rolled side to side in his grasp, and the man frowned at the hopeless state of his friend. "I'd ask if you're okay but something tells me you can't really confirm or deny right now, huh?" he added before giving her a smile. "It'll be okay, I gotchu, alright?"

Izzy's eyes moved over Kai's shoulder to see Klumpsky approaching with the knife, ready to stab, and she tried her very best to get Kai's attention by flicking her gaze back and forth, but it was no use. Just as he was about to meet his untimely demise, though, a gunshot rang through the apartment and Kai jumped, turning around to find the killer falling down on the floor and Chloe standing in the doorway. A surge of relief kicked Izzy in the stomach, even more so when Chloe proceeded to handcuff the killer, and turning to her once more, Kai sighed.

"See? I told you it'd be okay", he grinned, briefly caressing her red hair before getting up and helping Chloe get Klumpsky off of the floor.

Half an hour later, the paralyzing agent had finally begun to wear off, and with Mariah and Ella's help, Izzy was able to stand up again. They were all in the hallway, watching officers take away Klumpsky, satisfied with themselves – even if Izzy could feel her mind drifting and panic still clutching her throat. Still, at the sight of Mariah, she forced words out of her mouth, unable to let the woman go without any remarks on her outfit.

"Blue really is your color, Mariah", Izzy chuckled, and with a venomous stare, the Rose turned to her, completely unimpressed.

"I think so, too!" Ella chimed in happily, before leaning in to kiss Mariah's cheek. "Thanks for coming with me", she added before turning to Pete whose face was starting to lose color when Mariah and Ella joined hands. "Pete, you're a really cool guy, but you should know, I already have a girlfriend, so... if you're looking for something romantic, you should back off", she elaborated confidently, and Izzy noticed the proud smirk on Mariah's face in response.

"Oh, right, okay", Pete cleared his throat, "friends, then?" His proposal got a smile from Ella, and even though Mariah seemed not-so-happy with the conclusion, friends it was.

As the man headed out, he passed by Captain Moretti who made her way to the team, a smile on her painted lips. "Good work, everyone", she commended the group, "you got a serial killer off of the streets. You really should be proud of yourselves."

Izzy knew she was right. So why did she still feel so... off?

"Hey", Moretti leaned over to Izzy, placing a hand on her arm to lead her away from the rest – as if she had read her mind. "I heard from Detective Nolan that Klumpsky got to you. You feeling okay?" she queried, and with a wry chuckle, Izzy shrugged.

"I don't know, Captain. I don't think I'm holding myself together all that well", she admitted, running a hand across her face.

Nodding, Gemma gave Izzy's shoulder a squeeze. "I don't want to alarm you, but I've seen these signs in myself before. I can recommend a psychiatrist if you'd like to talk to a professional about it", the woman assured, and with a careful nod, Izzy gave her a weak smile.

"Thank you, Cap. I'll think about it", she inhaled, before stepping away. "Right now, though, there's something I gotta go take care of."

As much as she would have liked to call it a day, she still hadn't told Lucifer about the situation with Dan and Michael, and she had a sneaky little feeling it was better to deal with it as promptly as possible.

///

IZZY WAS WRINGING HER HANDS ANXIOUSLY, not sure how she was going to break it to Lucifer that Dan knew all about his true nature and was planning on doing something about it – what that something was, she had no idea, but she suspected it couldn't be anything good. Still, she knew it had to be done, and so, she made her way to Lucifer's penthouse, the elevator carrying her there with the music from Lux fading into the background.

With a ding, the elevator doors opened and the Holt trailed into the penthouse, where she found the man she was looking for, as well as Benjamin, the two lounging on the couch. "Izzy! Always a delight to see you", Lucifer received her gladly, and it should have alleviated some of the pent-up concern inside Isadora, but it only made it worse. He seemed so happy, and she hated to be the one to burn it down.

"Come on in, Iz. What's up?" Benji questioned with a smile, but the woman couldn't do much more than part her lips when Lucifer was cutting her off.

"Oh, lovely news, we figured out the deal with my mojo. It would appear I've simply made myself vulnerable enough around Benjamin to share my power and let him coax out my deepest desires", he began while getting up from the couch and making his way to Izzy whose face contorted with amazement. Every day, the supernatural phenomena around her surprised her in some way, but as she processed what Lucifer had shared, she began to wonder if he would know anything about demons getting souls.

"Care for a drink, my love?" Lucifer asked, but without waiting for an answer, he headed for the bar.

"Listen, there's something I really need to-", Izzy started, but the man went on again, far too giddy to be stopped.

"It truly is wondrous what I've found in Benjamin, don't you think? I hadn't thought this possible, but here we are. No one's ever been able to ask me about my desires, or at least gotten me to answer truthfully", Lucifer rambled away, handing Izzy a drink that she refused to enjoy for now. With a proud smile, Lucifer stood in front of her, finally allowing her to get a word in.

"Look, it's about-", she tried again, but once more, Lucifer interjected.

"Daniel?"

With an exasperated sigh, Izzy nodded. "Yes! Yes, this is about Dan. I think he's...", she responded, but when she noticed Lucifer and Benjamin's eyes glued to the elevator behind her, she twirled around only for her heart to sink at what she saw – Dan standing there with a gun in his hands, pointed directly at Lucifer.

"Dan, what is going on?" Benjamin spoke up with a wary tone, standing up from the couch, and with his eyes still trained on Lucifer, Dan acknowledged his brother.

"Stay away, Benji. He's dangerous", he warned, his hands trembling as he tried to keep the gun upright. Izzy put down the drink Lucifer had given her, and took a step towards Dan, hoping to calm him down.

"Listen to me, Dan, this is not a good idea. I'm telling you, Michael is not someone you want to side with", she attempted, keeping her voice as calm as she possibly could, but it didn't seem to work. Instead, Dan seemed more convinced.

"You don't understand, Iz. I need to do this."

Before she could say anything more, Dan pulled the trigger. A scream escaped Izzy's throat as the bullet split the air and flew right into Lucifer's chest, causing the man to fly back and collapse onto the floor. Everything happened so quickly – in a matter of seconds, Lucifer was down and Benjamin was throwing himself over him, and as Dan stood there, frozen, Izzy acted and grabbed the gun from his hands.

"Oof", Lucifer huffed from the floor, but much to everyone's surprise, he slowly sat up and brushed off his chest, unhappily grumbling about the hole in his suit. "This was expensive! How dare you?" the Devil complained, and at the realization that he was unable to kill him, Dan began to panic, frantically pacing back and forth with his hands tugging at his hair.

"What the Hell is wrong with you?!" Benjamin screeched, getting up from the floor and making his way to Dan to slap his shoulder. "What were you thinking, Dan?"

Throwing out his arms in frustration, Dan stared at his brother. "I saw his-his real face. He's the Devil, don't you understand? I'm trying to protect all of you", he pointed at Benji and Izzy, both of whom exchanged looks and then turned back to Dan angrily – well, Izzy was starting to feel desperate, but Benjamin? He was quite unhappy.

"You must be joking, Dan, of course, he's the Devil! That doesn't mean you can go around shooting people like a maniac, are you kidding me?" Ben lectured him, and with a scoff, Dan pulled back from him and yanked his arm away.

"All of you have lost your minds. I'm outta here", the oldest Espinoza spat before storming off to the elevator, despite Izzy's attempts to grab his hand. She wanted to help, to make it easier for Dan to process, but he didn't seem receptive and there wasn't much she could do other than let him go.

As Dan disappeared into the elevator, both Benji and Izzy turned back to Lucifer who was standing up again, a frown on his face. "Are you okay?" Isadora sighed, making her way to Lucifer, and placing a hand on his chest where the bullet had ripped his shirt. She wasn't sure where along the way she had learned to trust the man again, to be around him and look at him in the eyes, but she did know that she had been genuinely scared of him dying.

"I'm quite alright. Don't tell me you were worried, Izzy?" he grinned, and with a snort, the woman shrugged.

"I'll never admit it", she smiled up at him while letting her hand drop from his chest. When Benjamin cleared his throat from behind them, they both looked at the man who was staring back at Lucifer with an unhappy look on his face.

"Babe, didn't we just establish that you're letting yourself become vulnerable around me?" Benji questioned, his eyebrows knitted together in a frown. Lucifer's mouth fell open, but he was unable to reassure him of anything – the proof was right there in him standing upright, unharmed by the bullet. With a scoff, Benjamin pointed a finger at him and turned on his heel. "I knew you wouldn't be happy about it. Here you are, closing yourself off again", he seethed.

"Well, Benji-", Lucifer began, but the other man cut him off with a dismissive wave.

"I'm going to Chloe's. I promised to help her with something, anyway", Benjamin decided before heading straight for the elevator where Dan had left only moments ago, and as he exited the penthouse, leaving Lucifer alone with Izzy, the Morningstar gave her a look.

"Lovely. Both of the Espinozas are massively furious with me", he huffed, and with a sympathetic gaze, Izzy gave his shoulder a pat.

She was no expert in relationship advice, but she was determined to do something about Dan, as soon as possible.
