11: Drugging Wei Ying ... Young Su She visits

The picture above is just Cheng debating if he can actually kill Su She

(I really have to search online for the perfect pictures for each of the new chapters, but for now .... I am using what I have)

That evening he watched as Uncle FengMian and Cheng walked back into the mansion, Cheng looked so happy Wei Ying knew his plan had worked.

A few weeks later Wei Ying sat in the hall after finishing his meal and waited for the rest to finish eating and chatting. He loved that they all talked happily without any arguing. He felt his tiredness rise as dinner had been started late today because of some business Uncle and Auntie had with a visitor ... Wei Ying felt his eyes flutter a little.

'Wei WuXian ... are you okay?' FengMian asked softly.

'Hmn ... I'm really sorry for this but I am tireder than I thought I was.'

'That's alright, you can head off to bed if you like, we are just going to stay and talk for a while.'

'Thank you Uncle FengMian.' Wei Ying rose and gave his bows to the family then walked off and retired for the night.

An hour later he was fast asleep, without Wei Ying even hearing or reacting in the least, the door to his room opened and closed almost silently and a man in the purest white walked over to the bed and knelt beside the bed even as he leant over the boy sleeping.

'Now Wei WuXian ... I will get what I need tonight ... or I will return tomorrow night.'

'.........' Wei Ying stayed asleep even as a hand rose and moved towards his face .... Long fingers lay on his forehead with an almost invisible touch.

'Let me in.' the man's deep voice pulled the sleeping mind and within moments he was preforming an empathy ... he had been told not to listen to words, just look to see if this was the same person who the sect leader had brought from the streets years ago. He didn't bother looking into the recent memories of this boy as that is not what he was asked to look at. Instead he went back to when the boy lived on the streets, aged five .... He watched the tiny, underweight boy running for his life with tears running from his eyes and a scream emanating as he ran to the tree and he climbed as fast as he could ... however, even as he was almost out of reach, one of the dogs chasing him got his foot and sunk its teeth in before he got away and scaled the tree. He watched the boy cowering in the tree crying as he hugged the tree as high as he could get. Next he found the memory of Jiang FengMian arriving and squatting before the boy. He watched without hearing words as after a few minutes, the boy nodded and held out his hand only to be lifted into the mans arms and carried away.

The man left the empathy, removed the blanket and looked at the ankle only to find a scar that matched the memory he saw then he stood up and left the room where the family were waiting for him.

'Sect Leader FengMian, the boy in that room is the boy you took from the streets. I saw that very memory and also ... just one memory of him being bitten by a dog as he tried to get up a tree ... the boy sleeping in the bed ... is Wei WuXian.'

'Thank you ... if this is true then there are even more questions but I think they can go unanswered for now.'

The visitor sat at the table and frowned. 'Are there things you are still unsure of about him?'

'Well, it seems that over night he matured, saw into things and worked them out, almost totally changed everything about himself.'

'It can sometimes seem like that when a child begins to grow up .... But most of the time it's just a child understanding they can not stay a child for the rest of their lives.' The man straightened his white robe with cloud motifs on the trim with a smile.

'I would like you to keep this between us here right now. I do not want Wei WuXian to realise we ... thought he may not be the same person who I brought into our home. I don't ever want him to think I did not trust him.'

'I give you my word; I will not even say anything to Sect Leader XiChen or Master Lan.'

'Thank you.'

Wei Ying realised that almost every week since their trip to the Jin Sect, there was a letter that arrived for YanLi who hurried off with a blush and smile. Cheng tried to work out the sudden change in Jin ZiXuan but he was only told that the Jin heir was happier than ever and kind of fun to be with ... but he was still a bit of a peacock.

Well, not everything can be changed.

Wei Ying also turned certain things onto totally new roads that would set the future on a different path. With just a few unconnected words he had managed to get the heirs of many sects to talk and see each other in different light and to his surprise, they all became friends after they realised just how alike they all were.

Wei Ying tried to get friendly with Nie HuaiSang and even though he managed this to a certain extent, for some reason HuaiSang was rarely away from his attendant, or rather Jin GuangYao would hardly ever leave his side, so Wei Ying needed to tread carefully.

One day Wei Ying walked into the dinning area only to find a face he knew. 'Greetings.' He gave a deep bow with a smile. 'I am sorry Auntie, Uncle; I didn't know you had guests.' Don't kill him, don't kill him, don't kill him, just smile and act as if nothing is wrong. He said to himself.

'It's alright Wei WuXian. I was going to call you anyway so I can introduce you to someone who will be training with you when you lot go to Cloud Recesses.' Madam Yu stood up and touched Wei Ying's shoulder. 'Wei WuXian, this is Lan FanLin, Lan GuangWen and Lan Su She. He is the one who will be training with you.'

'Greetings Lan FanLin, Greetings Lan GuangWen, Greetings Lan Su She.' He bowed to them as a group and then gave Su She a pleasant smile. 'Are you looking forwards to our training Lan Su She.'

'Of course. Are you a Jiang sect member? You do not wear their colours.'

'That is by my choice, partly to remember my parents and partly because I want to perfect my core before donning the Jiang Sect colours.' Wei Ying instantly knew that no matter what he did, Su She would not be a friend. His mindset was already formed, someone had already placed this person on his own road and nothing would make him change. 'Lan Su She, would you like a tour of Lotus Pier while the elders talk amongst themselves?'

'I will stay ...'

'I think that would be wonderful Su She, why not make friends and look around a bit?'

'We are here ...'

'That is for me and Lan FanLin to undertake; you run along and have some fun.'

Wei Ying looked to his aunt and saw an understanding look in her eyes. Yes, she was sharp enough to understand Su She was an unpleasant person. 'We shall return in a couple of hours if that is alright. We might stop by the training grounds for some fun.'

'No mischief young man.' Madam Yu said with folded arms.

'Auntie Yu .... Would I ever cause mischief?' He gave her a sweet innocent smile then grinned happily. 'At least not where my dear auntie can see me.' He hurried out taking Su She with him to the sounds of laughter. 'So Su She, what is it like in the Lan Sect?'

'..... acceptable.'

Stuck up piece of ..... stop Wei Ying, calm down and stay polite. Try to win him over. 'That's good; we like bringing people into Jiang Sect who need a place to belong. The amount of people with great talent has grown in the last few years.'

'This is what you call .... Talent.' He nodded to a group of trainees training in the arena.

'I will admit they are rough around the edges but as they are only new trainees, only been with us for a few weeks, I think they are doing rather good ... excuse me a moment Lan Su She.' He jumped down from the stand and hurried over. 'Okay you lot looks like you all need a little help with this.'

'Wei WuXian.' They all called as one with smiles.

'Okay, I want you to watch me footwork, not just the arm.' He moved slowly through the routine then when they all nodded, he ran through it at full speed. 'Now, I want you all to keep practicing this. I think you are all doing a great job and will get this in no time at all.'

'Thank you Wei WuXian.' They all bowed their heads then broke up into pairs to practice.

'Wait, where are they?'

'Oh, they needed to go with Senior Feng as he needed help doing something. They will be back soon.'

'Okay, keep up the good work.' He quickly returned to Su She with a happy smile. 'I like teaching them the finer details.'

'I highly doubt they will make decent sect members.'

'Trust me, they really will.' He looked down at the group of boys who had heard Su She and rolled his eyes only to receive smiles from all. 'Why don't we head down to the docks and I will show you around?' he didn't really wait for an answer, just headed off so this idiot wouldn't ruin the moral of the juniors.

So for almost two hours Wei Ying kept the happy smile on his face even when Su She made snarky comments to try to goad him. The more Su She did this, the more Wei Ying enjoyed showing him simple things.

'Young Master Wei......'

Wei Ying turned to see the grinning face of Little Mo as he now called him. 'How are you and your mother doing today?'

'Great. Mother asked me to buy some things ....' He looked up at the scowling boy. 'Who is he?' Little Mo whispered.

'Young Master Mo, may I introduce you to Lan Su She ... we will be training at Cloud Recesses at the same time and I'm just showing him around.'

Little Mo gave a deep bow. 'Hello Lan Su She, I hope you are enjoying your tour.'

'No I'm not. Who would want to walk around a smelly old dock?'

'I suppose your elders in the meeting know how you present your sect while you are alone Su She?'

'If they think this place is worth visiting .... Mores the shame.'

'Oi ... just who do you think you are talking about my sect like that?'

Wei Ying almost hit his face with his hand when Cheng's voice came from close by. 'Lan Su She, let me introduce the Jiang Sect heir, Jiang Cheng, also a person you will be training with.' He tried to give him the hint to speak politely.

'What is becoming of the GusuLan Sect that we need to train such poor people?' Su She looked around in disgust.

'Why do we not head back, it's about time the meeting ended anyway.' Wei Ying thought of a wonderful idea ... and an ever polite smile sat on his lips even as he shook his head to Cheng as they walked back.

As they entered the meeting hall, the juniors bowed to the elders .... Then Cheng spoke up.

'I must apologise Lan FanLin, Lan GuangWen. If I had known that the GusuLan Sect didn't want to train the poor people of Lotus Pier, I would have suggested training at another sect.' Cheng gave a deep respectful bow to the GusuLan sect .... Mainly so they didn't see his small smile.
