Sparrows gather in a group
Each day at two o'clock
So secretive
So twitchy-
shifty eyes checking for intruders.

Hadedas watch from above,
Dark silhouettes against the sky:
Designated guardians,
Ready to call the alarm
At the slightest sign of a spy.

Barefoot, I slip across the garden
Hidden by thick shrubs and trees.
Suddenly, the Hadedas screech.
Their piercing cries fill the air,
And the whole group swoops up.

Little birds, what's your secret?
Are you trying to take over the world?

When I was little I would imagine that the sparrows were all getting together in a secret council, discussing issues pertaining to birds and that the hadedas were their guards, watching out for intruders.
