The sound of footprints
Interrupts lockdown silence
And sets dogs barking.
Neighbours stare and narrow eyes:
Man walks past without a mask.

I'm not sure if I've fully grasped how to write tanka, but I felt like it was the right form to use for what I wanted to say. Since the start of this pandemic and the  lockdown regulations there has been a feeling of animosity amongs people in person, despite the sense of community that exists online. Everybody is seen as a possible carrier of the virus and thoughts of who is or is not following regulations is on everyone's mind.
