Stargazing with the President

Y/n couldn't sleep. She tried really had but perhaps the two hour nap she had in class didn't help. So there she was in her fluffy pyjamas, and a blanket draped over her shoulders, wandering around the campus at one in the morning. It was really peaceful. She could hear crickets chirping around her. The campus was quiet and empty so Y/n could enjoy the peaful atmosphere that surrounded her.

"Why are you up?" Never mind. "Ah Cole, good to see you" she said brightly, turning around to face him, he didn't look amused, he was still in his school uniform, just with a black jumper and no tie, does he even wear pyjamas?

"I was taking a walk, why are you up?" He asked again. "Ah, I couldn't sleep" she said looking up at the sky. "I never thought I'd ever hear you say that, it's a shame I couldn't document it on video" he said smiling gently. Perhaps it was the quiet but his voice was much softer than normal.

"The stars are really pretty" Y/n mused, lost in the twinkles of the inky black sky. "Yes, I suppose they are" he said, his eyes never leaving Y/n's face. "Do you know anything about constellations?" Y/n asked turning her attention back to him. "I do, nothing more than a few stories though" he said. Y/n wasted no time and took the blanket from her shoulders, spreading it on the ground and lying down on it, the cold from the concrete creeping through her body.

Cole sighed "you must be cold like that" he said, sitting down next to her. "I'm not trust me" Cole pull his jumper off "I don't" he said handing it to her, "put it on or otherwise I'm not telling you any stories about the stars" Y/n puffed her cheeks in annoyance but obliged, sitting up momentarily to put it on. It was much larger on her and the faint smell of fancy after shave wafted through her nose.

"Okay, now tell me about the stars" she said, lying back down, motioning for Cole to join her, which to her suprise, he did. "So that bright cluster of stars there" Cole pointed out, directing Y/n's sight to a large clump of stars "yeah" Y/n said,once finding it.

"That represents the seven daughters of Atlas, who was in charge of carrying the heavans, causing him to be away from his daughters. Then the hunter Orion is said to of fallen in love with the sisters and tried to court them" Cole explained. "He tried to date seven people at one? All of them sisters?" Y/n asked in suprise. "I'm not sure if that's actually the case but, let's just go with it for now" Cole explained, to which, Y/n nodded.

"So in order to put their fathers mind to rest, Zeus allowed for the seven sisters to be made into stars, so they would be closer to their father. And now you can even see the star Orion, nearby, supposedly chasing after them" Cole says finishing the story. A long silence broke out "I don't really get it" Y/n said finally. "You wanted stories I'm giving you them" Cole huffed. "Right right sorry"

Cole scanned the skies for more constellations but failed to see any. "I can't see many more but how about I tell you about a story of another constellation?" Cole suggested "Okay" she nodded.

"This one is about Altair and Vega" Cole began. "Altair and Vega we're young lovers, Altair was said to be a poor shepherd boy, whilst Vega was said to be a weaver girl, created by celestial beings. And for that reason their parents forbade their love"

"That's so sad" Y/n said, a twinge of sadness flickering at her heart. "It's said that a river of stars seperate their love but one day every year, they move closer to eachother"

"Mhm that's a happier ending" Y/n said sleepily, snuggling up to Cole, whose face exploded into red, thankfully it was dark so Y/n didn't notice. "Cole... are there still people like that, who seperate people because..." Y/n yawned "of their background?" Cole thought for a moment. About him, Y/n, and his father. "... not for much longer" he whispered.

It appeared his words fell on deaf ears as he heard Y/n's peaceful snores next to him. Cole sighed. They were gonna catch a cold if they stayed out there any longer. But he couldn't bring himself to move or wake her up.
