CHAPTER-2

YASH

"Good morning" my brother Sushwant greeted me as I was descending down stairs. He was very excited this early in the morning.

"Good morning. What are you excited about my little brother?" he hated when I call him 'little' and I enjoy irritating him. He was now glaring at me.

"Hmm I won't tell you. Where do you think you are going? It's your engagement tomorrow!!"

Me- "Where do u think I am going?"

Bro - "No worrying about business today. You have your engagement ceremony tomorrow. You are not allowed to go out today"

Me-" Hey engagement is tomorrow. And I am going to take leave for about a week. So I need to go and finish my work."

Bro- "dad....daddddd...come here...daddd" he shouted.

Shit now I can't go. Thanks to my little brother. Dad came and saw my work cloths and glared at me.

Dad-"what is it with your outfit?" his words held anger and sarcasm.

Me-"hmm - " Before I could say something to defend myself my brother interrupted me.

Bro-"he is going to the company" with sarcasm.

Dad –"No, you are not going anywhere today got it? That's my final decission."

Me-" ok dad"

Bro-" when are they coming dad?" who was coming and why is my brother so eager about it? He seems happy too.

Me- "who is coming?"

dad-" Krishnan and his family is coming over for breakfast. They will be here within an hour. I called Krishnan now, he said they were running late because his daughter wouldn't get up early." There was a small smile on my father's face as he spoke about Krishnan uncle's daughter.

Me- " oh.." Now that I knew the reason for his eagerness, I too am eager to see Krishnan uncle, his daughter and other family members. They are all good people.

Krishnan uncle is my dad's good friend from their college time. Me, my brother, and varun(Krishnan uncle's son) became good friends like our dads. I saw their daughter only once, when she was born in the hospital. Then I have not met her till now. Lakshmi aunty was a really good cook. She and my mom were also close friends. Mom, i miss u so much. 'Stop thinking yash' I tell myself.

Dad and bro were talking about meeting someone for my marriage. They both did not allow me to intervene in the marriage arrangements. They tell me this is because I have to enjoy my marriage and later tell them how their surprise wedding arrangements were.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I took it out to answer the call. It was my PA's call. There was a problem in the office and he was not able to manage it. I have to go now. My dad understood the situation. He would have gone but he has some marriage arrangements to take care off, so I had to go to the office. My brother is not allowed to get into business until he finishes his college studies. Dad wanted him to enjoy the college life. I was like my brother at one time too.


While I was driving out of the driveway, I saw a car drive in. I thought it might be Krishnan uncle and his family. Right then I got a call from varun, he informed me they reached my house. I apologized to him saying that I wouldn't be able to meet them today but will meet them tomorrow.
