THIRTY EIGHT

Carrington Hill

We were in a massive car with black tinted windows on our way to the premiere at Leicester Square. Harry gripped my hand tightly as our hands were intertwined and rested on his delicious looking thighs. He was looking out the window and one of his legs was bouncing up and down which showed just how bloody nervous he was.

I kissed his cheek which got him by surprise. His head turned towards me so quick I was shocked it didn't snap right off his neck.

"You'll do amazing, gorgeous, don't be so nervous," I smiled at him gently. His eyes softened as he looked down at me, his lips pressed against my forehead and I felt him breathe out through his nose.

"I know, it's just," he sighed while he put his other hand on top of mine that was holding his left already. "You. I don't want anything happening to you."

"Nothing will happen to me, don't worry too much about me," I nudged his shoulder with mine. "I'll just have to hold your hand and look pretty next to you. Which, thankfully to Millie, won't be too hard."

"You look pretty all the time," he complimented me. "And I can't not worry about you. You are my precious little baby, once we step one foot out of this car, I'll have to share you with everyone."

"Don't even say that," I laughed. "We'll be fine, okay? I won't cause trouble just pose. I need those high quality pictures and since I'm getting them for free, I can't be joking around. Oh my Gosh, I can already see all the candids!" I went off on my little ramble happily.

I was actually pretty excited for the pictures. Plus I thought that what I said lightened the tense mood that sat on our shoulders.

"I love you, silly baby," he chuckled and pressed his lips to mine in a sweet kiss. I hummed against his mouth and placed my hand on his cheek.

"I love you, Alex," I winked at him and he gave me a funny look. "What?"

"I'm not Alex, alright? He is an asshole and I'm not."

"You can be one though," I mumbled and he heard it which made me smirk. "Plus, I love the name Alex-, oh, fuck, you're Alex in the movie and my dance partner's name is Alex too."

"I genuinely didn't think of that," Harry's lips were straight at first then a smile slowly stretched out on them and his dimples popped.

After another fifteen minutes we were able to hear the noise that was coming from the location where the premiere was held. I looked at Harry when we went past people walking in groups to the venue, his smile widened and his head looked back as the car went past them. I could tell he was absolutely buzzing and that simple thought made my heart race in my chest.

"Alright, we're literally about to get out of this car, rush inside to meet Caitlin and I'll introduce you to the lads who will be there," Harry informed me when the car came to a stop behind a building.

I found myself nodding right as the car door was opened up by a body guard. My boyfriend got out first then he helped me out, his fingers slipped between mine and we were directed to where we needed to go, obviously.

"Oh, God, here we go," I mumbled and Harry let out a breathy chuckle. "Don't laugh, your manager hates me."

"She doesn't hate you, don't be silly," he said and his hand tightened around mine.

"True, she just thinks I'm a distraction and want nothing more than your money and fame. And let's not mention the dirty looks she gave me the last time I had to be in the same room as her."

"Alright, so she might not be fond of you, but what can I do about that? I'm not going to change my manager just because you guys don't seem to like each other," he said honestly. Which, for some reason, hurt me, but I understood him, too.

I sighed and Harry looked at me with an arched eyebrow. My gaze lifted from his face and I considered the conversation finished. There was nothing for me to say so I stayed quiet and waited for him to start walking again. Harry shook his head before he did so.

When we got in the room, I saw three boys, around Harry's age or so I assumed, and of course the black haired woman also known as the stuck up bitch. Well, for me anyway. I smiled though, and held Harry's hand a little firmer which he probably noticed, but didn't mention it.

"Lads, this is my beautiful girlfriend, Carrington Hill," he introduced me to the three boys. I smiled as they all looked at me, then Harry too, at the end. "Carrie, this is Tom, Fionn and Barry, the lads who I have worked with on this movie," he said as he went in order.

All of them looked really smart and handsome, it almost left me speechless how good they looked in real life compared to the pictures I've seen online. I ended up shaking hands with all of them, Barry hugged me at the end as well. They all complimented me, which of course ended up leaving me even more blushed than I already was. Barry also introduced me and Harry to the girl who was his plus one, her dress a bright red colour, right in everyone's face. Tom and Fionn attended the premiere on their own. Well, the red carpet anyway.

"Harry, can I have a word?" Caitlin walked towards us, her eyes focused on my boyfriend and she didn't wait for an answer.

Harry sighed next to me, quietly, then kissed my cheek as his hand squeezed my other one. Down there. I giggled and he grinned at me, his lips caught mine in the most innocent peck ever and then walked off to talk to the woman who cannot stand me.

"So I heard you and Harry are going public with your relationship," Tom started off the conversation, a bit too personal for people who have just met. But then again he knew Harry so for him it might not have been that strange.

"Uh, yeah," I nodded with a smile on my lips. "A bit nervous about it but it'll all be good."

"You're a lovely girl I'm sure you'll be fine," he said and I just smiled at him again as I sent a small nod towards him.

We stopped talking after that which I didn't mind, though found awkward when it happened. I took my phone out of my bag and I saw a text message from my brother.

Harrison: I'll be watching you through the livestream x

I laughed and shook my head. That made me feel so awkward because I knew that he'll be taking the piss out of me as soon as I get home.

Carrington: is mum with you

Harrison: nope it's just me and you'll be on the big screen in the living room lol

Carrington: well thanks for the support lil bro x

Harrison: always xoxo

Harry came back soon after that, his arms snuck around my waist from behind and he rested his chin on my shoulder. I smiled and turned around so I could face him. His green eyes were shining and he was sweating a little around his hairline. My hands cradled his face as I kissed his lips softly as I made sure to not get them too stained with the red lipstick I had on.

Once everyone was in the room, we were told that each actor will make their way to the cars which were for them specifically. We got in the car that was for Harry, with Caitlin in the seat next to the driver.

"Harrison is watching us on that livestream, well, you," I told my boyfriend when the car started and we followed the ones ahead of us. Harry looked at me with a surprised expression at that.

"Really? That's really nice of him," he said with a smile. "Your brother is really cool."

"Don't tell him that any more than you already have," I rolled my eyes playfully. Harry laughed and I let out a sigh. "He's taken it seriously so now his ego is boosted."

"It should be boosted, he deserves to be praised."

"Oh, shush," I laughed as my hand squeezed his thigh. The car suddenly came to a stop and Caitlin turned back to us.

"Now we wait for Harry's turn," she started talking and I already had enough of the way she looked up and down me sneakily before she kept her eyes on Harry next to me. "Once we're on the red carpet and you make your way to the first barrier, you'll be announced, your name in the film and your actual name. You smile, wave, whatever you do when you're in front of cameras, yeah?" she rambled on seriously, her bossing around started to irk me. But then again, that was her job. "You'll have to take a picture with the fans at the first barrier as there are fans have won some sort of competition in order to be here today."

After that I just didn't listen. I didn't have to because she wasn't aiming her words at me and if there was something I had to know I knew Harry would inform me about them. He always did so anyway.

"Hey, don't look so angry," lips kissed the back of my hand and I felt his eyes stare at me. "You're supposed to look pretty, remember?"

I laughed, quietly, and shook my head before I licked my lips. I wish his manager would have liked me as much as she seemed to like the boys Harry had worked with on Dunkirk.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled. "She just really doesn't like me and that sucks."

"Don't bother with her, please," he told me. "She's hard to deal with but she does her job amazingly so I can't complain. I'm sorry that she doesn't like you, I don't even know why, to be completely honest."

"Because I'm nothing but a-,"

"Don't you even dare finish that sentence," he scolded me. "I love you and you know that. Don't believe a word she's saying."

"Time to go, Harry," Caitlin's words interrupted our conversation as she popped her head in through the door she opened.

"Look at me," Harry talked to me as he ignored his manager. I did as he asked me to and I soon found his lips on mine. He kissed me softly first then more passionately and I felt my heart rate pick up. "Now it's time to be pretty and take everyone's breath away, understood?"

I nodded as I blushed, his thumb caressed my cheek a little.

"Understood," I answered with a word which was what he was waiting for.

"That's what I like to hear," he winked at me. "I love you."

"I love you."

And then we were out of the car. Well, Harry was out of the car because he told me to sit still until he opened the door for me. I grinned at him when he helped me out and I noticed that he buttoned his blazer up.

And then I saw him on the screen that was a bit farther away from us and a woman started to talk.

"Playing Alex in Dunkirk and making his acting debut, please welcome Harry Styles!" the screams went off as soon as he stepped out of the car, I knew that much. But as his name was called out and he waved and smiled to people everything got louder.

"I'll be right back, stay here with Dale, alright?" he asked me as his hands were holding my wrists. I only had about a second to nod before he was taken from me and I was left with the bodyguard.

"So what are we doing?" I asked him loudly as I leaned towards him so he could at least hear me a little bit. He nodded to the side and I followed him as I pulled my dress up a little. I didn't exactly want to step on it.

Dale told me to stay where we were and I did although I didn't expect him to just leave me there. I swear to God, all everyone did that day was leaving me. So I just stood around and looked pretty like I planned on doing. With all these people around, I never knew for sure who had their cameras on me.

"Here you are," I heard the familiar deep voice which belonged to my amazing boyfriend. I smiled at him as he hugged me from the front, his lips attached to my forehead before he took a hold of my hands. One of them slipped out of my hold while the other intertwined with his. "Are you ready to pose for the cameras, pretty girl?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," I said with a smile on my face. Harry seemed hyped which made me happy. His little grin and the sparkle in his green eyes were built from excitement and I swear my whole life was made whenever I looked at him.

But seemingly so that was not enough. Hardly. Considering the fact that as soon as we stepped on the main red carpet everything and everyone went wild. It genuinely surprised me that the cameras didn't give up working because even through the loud music which almost burst my eardrums, I was able to hear all the clicking noises they made. Not to mention all the flashlights that went off but I guess you gotta go through that to get the best quality pictures done, am I right?

Harry stood comfortably next to me, his hand lazily yet firmly rested around me at the same time. I could smell his cologne perfectly fine and the body warmth he provided, oddly enough, made me feel comfortable as we stood in front of all those people.

Of course I heard all kinds of things thrown at me, at us, at Harry, but none of us seemed to care enough. Obviously, we were aware of the fact that it was happening but I personally tried to block it out as much as it was humanly possible. To make the situation worse, Harry pressed a kiss to my temple, for a little longer than he usually did. That made me giggle and look into his eyes.

"Now they'll get to write about how in love we are," he told me with a smirk on his lips that he soon enough pressed against mine. The cameras went off like mad at that and I had to push him away from me as I laughed.

"You're an idiot," I told him with a slight eye roll and snuck my hand behind his back. I heard him chuckling as he held my back as well and once he was told from the side that we can move, we walked away from the red carpet.

"I'm going to meet some fans," Harry said as he held a bottle of water in his hand, took a few sips of it then passed it to me. "Mum's going to be here in a minute and then you two can go over that bridge thing and right in the venue, yeah?"

I drank the rest of the water that was in the bottle before I nodded as my answer. I was happy that everything was so planned out and I was never truly on my own for longer than I had to be. Anne was lovely and it relaxed me as I thought about the fact that she'll be by my side while my boyfriend is gone.

He left me with a kiss on the lips and a kiss on his mum's cheek after she arrived. She looked gorgeous in her black dress, her hair softly curled while her smile brightened her face up like fairy lights make a Christmas tree glow. As she stood next to Harry I saw so much resemblance between the two and Anne couldn't have denied the fact that my boyfriend was her son.

"How are you, darling?" she asked me as we walked in the venue, the noise didn't disappear at all but it was much better than it was outside.

"I'm good, thank you. I'm very excited," I told her with a grin. "How are you, Anne?"

"That's really good to hear, Carrington," she smiled. "I'm doing great, thank you for your question, dear. Today is crazy, isn't it?"

"It really is," I agreed as I chuckled softly. "I just can't wait to see the film now."

"Yes, me too, it's going to be great," she said. "Alright, love, the food and drinks are on me. What would you like to eat while the film's on?"

"Oh, no, Anne, I can't let you pay for food or drinks," I started saying and she just shook her head as she chuckled.

"It's alright, Carrington, don't worry about it. I can pay, it's fine," she said so sweetly and calmly that I had to give up the fight. Usually, I made others pay for me, but hell, she was Harry's mother, not my best friend.

My best friend, who I haven't talked to in the longest and she'll find out that Harry and I are official through a livestream or an interview if one of the interviewers will slip in a relationship question somehow and my boyfriend, answers it.

So after I told Anne what I would like she smiled at me and gave my order as well as hers to the cashier. I let her know that I was going to quickly text my friend and she nodded.

Carrington: im lit the worst best friend ever but harry and I are official and im at the premiere for the film he is in and we are probably going to be public from now on and ik I didn't tell you which im terribly sorry for and my hands are shaking and idk if I included everything I wanted to say but I love you and I hope youre doing good whatever youre doing wherever youre ok ill call you when im done here pls don't me mad at me for not contacting you :((

Without reading it back, I just sent the text message and locked my phone after I exited my messages. I had no idea whether I told her what I wanted or if it made sense, all I knew was the fact that I told her before the news got any bigger.

"Here you go, dear," she gave me one of the popcorn boxes and the large diet coke I ordered. I smiled at her as I thanked her for the fiftieth time and she just laughed. "You honestly don't have to thank me so much, it's nothing. Plus, I know that my son will eat most of that popcorn anyway."

"Yeah, probably," I laughed as I agreed.

"Mum," we heard the voice of the angel-, I mean of the boy we had been talking about. Anne and I turned around and we saw a wild Harry nearing us. His hair was everywhere, he had black sharpie marks on his hand and the collar of his shirt was way more opened than it was when he left. "Come, let's take a few pictures."

"Oh, sure, darling," she said right away.

"Put them on here I'll just sit down and wait for you," I told Anne as I took a seat on the bench which was hidden from the entrance. She looked at me with a thankful facial expression whilst she placed the popcorn and drink next to me.

My phone buzzed in my hand so I looked down on it and saw that Mia replied. My heart started to beat faster than it did before and my hands sweated a bit.

Mia: you never fail to make me laugh lmao

Mia: don't worry about anything babe it's fine. we've both been extremely busy so I get it

Mia: we do HAVE TO meet up though because I gotta know what my main hoe is up to ok?

Mia: and btw I was watching you through that livestream on youtube and GIRL YOU SLAYED MY ENTIRE FUCKING EXISTANCE

Mia: anyway you probably won't see this for a while but still have so much fun and I love you xx

Her messages made me smile and I wanted to call her but considering how noisy it was I knew that wasn't a clever idea. I ended up texting her a load of red love hearts and she replied with the crying of laughter emoji.

After that I waited another ten minutes before Anne and Harry came back, both of them grabbing the drinks and sipping them through the straws.

"Well, that was mine," I commented after Harry put it down and I picked it back up. My large coke was basically almost empty.

"I'll get you another one, babe, what would you like?"

"A large diet coke," I told him and he nodded.

"Can I get my phone?" he asked me as he looked at my bag. He made sure I squeezed his bloody phone in my little clutch just because he didn't want to put it in his pocket.

"Why do you need it?" I asked.

"Apple pay," he told me.

"I'm getting you a bag for your birthday," I said as I held his phone out. He kissed my forehead before he left and I heard Anne laughing quietly.

"I can't quite believe that he just went to get you a new drink," she told me and she seemed impressed.

"He drank it and I haven't even had a sip yet."

"You got him wrapped around your finger, which is not a bad thing, though I must mention that I'm worried in case something happens between the two of you. My son would be absolutely heartbroken if you two would break up, not that I'm saying you wouldn't be."

"Well that got dark real quick," I chuckled to make the situation less tense. "But, I get what you mean. Every mother fears that their kids will end up heartbroken, however I can assure you that Harry means too much to me to let our relationship go down the wrong path."
