SIXTY SEVEN

Carrington Hill

Harry used his charm on my mum therefore I wasn't in much trouble. Not that me moving out should get me in any, but Eloise Hill has always been overprotective of me. She wants to know where I am, what I'm doing and who I am with pretty much every hour of my life even though I'm turning twenty-three this year. Me being the only daughter she has ever had resulted in her constantly looking out for me, though my dad was the same way – even with him living on the other side of the world.

But to stop me from rambling, everything was fine. And Harry's presence did help to calm my mother's nerves other than the fact that she was knackered from work. She had a night shift so she excused herself with a line that left Harry shitting his pants. "I'm easy to persuade, every mother is when their daughter's boyfriend is as handsome and charming as you are, Harry. My husband, however, he is a tough cookie. You'll have to have a chat with him some time, too. I'm sure he'd love to know about your plans, loves." Then she smiled and went upstairs and if that was not the most badass thing she has done in a while then I still have no idea what to say about it.

The next day, as I sat in one of the rooms in the dance studio, it was still on my mind and it honestly made me giggle a little. Alex turned up to the meeting, too, which didn't surprise me since Harry quite literally planted the image in my head of how they're gonna try and persuade him into moving to London as well.

"So, as you all know, we have gone through with the plans of expanding to London. Our organisation has always been known, we're pretty popular with the amount of classes we teach and also our amazing dancers promote us all around the world," Julie spoke who was actually the head of the whole thing. She started the organisation ages ago and built it up to where it is now. "When I made my decision to expand, I already knew who I wanted to run the business. And it won't be a surprise to anyone," she laughed and everyone joined. By everyone, I mean all the teachers so there was like fifteen of us. "Carrington, Alex," she spoke our names and my heart fell down to my stomach and right out of my ass. She really was going to say what I hoped she was going to say and it gave me unnecessary anxiety. "You two have been here since almost the beginning of this. I remember teaching you two the first, basic steps to cha cha cha at the age of what, seven? And even then, I knew that you two were going to be amazing. Surely, you were never a couple from the start, but now you are and it's the most amazing thing to see. You work really well together, it would be a shame to separate you two – which is why I decided to give you two the position of running the business in Stratford."

"Wait, are you serious?" Alex asked her. He sounded completely shocked and I swear he teared up a little. "I swear to god if you are fucking with me-,"

"Nope," Julie laughed. "I'm fucking serious, hun," she said.

And just like that, I jumped up with Alex and we hugged each other as if we won a competition. I didn't really believe it at first and then she smirked and everyone started to clap and it somehow became real. This meant so much to both of us that I wasn't even surprised when tears started to leak from my eyes after I pulled away from my dance partner.

"Your flight to London leaves tomorrow at 6 am sharp, so you best get home and pack for a few days," Julie said and I swear my jaw dropped.

"Flight?" I asked completely shocked.

"For further information about this, we'll have a chat in about five minutes in my office, yeah?" she said. I nodded as I gulped and turned towards Alex.

He was squatting down, his face hid in his hands as I ran towards him and almost made him fall. We both laughed as he hugged me tightly and his eyes were literally sparkling as he looked at me.

"Carrington, this is madness," he stated. His voice gave back just how shocked he was and I could relate one hundred percent. I mean, the fact that we'll be the first ones to teach at the studio in Stratford is bloody mental. "I can't believe we got the opportunity to do this!"

"We're freaking going to work in London!" I screamed and he laughed. "You know how we wanted to find our own studio and whatever? Seems like it's finally working out, can you believe it?"

"Fuck, this is crazy," he said as he let out a sigh, his hand ran through his hand and he snickered. "This means we'll have to move to London and everything, doesn't it?"

"Yes," I said. "This will work out so good for me because Harry and I were on about moving in together anyway and it's just so convenient!"

"Holy fuck, really?" he asked. "That's good, really good, oh my god. We'll be living in fucking London," Alex honestly made me laugh as he rambled on about it and it was such a huge ass relief to know he was excited, too. "I have no idea how I'm gonna survive because I'll be broke as fuck, but hey ho. This is massive."

"I know. I can't get my head around it, if I'm honest," I shook my head a little. "This means so many opportunities, you know that, right?"

"Hell yes," he snapped his head my way as he laughed. "More money, more attention, just a better lifestyle. I'm fucking buzzing."

"Me too," I grinned. "What are you gonna do with your gal?"

"I'm gonna have to talk to her about it, I didn't even mention it to her, to be honest. She'll be alright though."

"Okay, that's good," I nodded.

"How's Harry with this?" he asked, a smirk on his lips. "Bet he is ecstatic that he'll get to see you more than a few times a month."

"Yeah, he was the one who actually made me call up Julie and ask about it. But yeah, he's been blowing up my phone with texts about how excited he is and everything. Which, I am too, but with him it's like he's just won the lottery."

"That man loves you and I wouldn't be surprised if he'd already have your engagement ring ready."

"Shut up," I rolled my eyes and scoffed, although the thought of that did make me excited. I definitely saw a future with Harry and it'd have been amazing to just sit down with him and talk wedding and babies with him as our next step.

I could not reach Harry right up until five pm that day when I actually told him the news and he almost broke down crying. And I'm not even kidding. He called me on facetime and put his phone up on one of his shelves as he started to make room for my stuff in his wardrobe. He had interviews to do all day so he only just got home then.

"Babe, calm down a little," I laughed when he yelled out in pain after he whacked his head against a shelf. "I don't even know when I'm moving to yours fully."

"I know but I just want to have everything ready."

"And you will have time to do everything. Just," I sighed while in bed, eyes on him as he folded a shirt and chucked it in the wardrobe. "Sit down or something. I want to talk to your face, not your shoulder even though you have a nice shoulder."

"Okay, sorry," he said as he picked his phone up and laid on the bed. "Right, so tell me what's going to happen. You're coming to London for how long?"

"Leaving tomorrow morning and we'll be there for three days. We'll be checking the studio and the area out tomorrow, teach a lesson on the second day and then have a meeting about how we think it went. Back to Manchester after that and then Julie said we'll sign papers and everything here."

"So, I won't see you throughout those three days?"

"Not unless you'll come to my hotel room," I said. "Wow, that sounded terrible. But, yeah, these next three days are going to be jam packed with work for me."

"I just can't wait for you to move here," he smiled. "I know I sound overly excited and I'm probably annoying you with my constant happiness about this but if I'm completely honest, this is the first time I'll be properly living with someone since I moved away from home."

"No, don't say that," I said right away as I felt my heart crack a little at his statement. "You're not annoying, I honestly love that you are buzzing because I am, too, I just don't voice it. I was never one to shout about everything good that has happened to me. Also, don't get me wrong, I don't mean this in a bad way, I'm just like that."

"Yeah, I get it," he commented. "But please let me know if I'm too much or something."

"Sure babe, I will," I laughed a little. "Also, is it really gonna be your first time moving in with someone?"

"I did tell you that I lived with my mate for a while and then I got my own place. So, yeah. This will be a bit different, more... sure. I don't really know how to describe it, if I'm honest."

"I get what you mean," I smiled. Then images of us living together started to flood my mind, not that they ever really left my thoughts. "Uh, Harry?"

"Yes?"

"I was kind of looking at houses in London and other parts of the country ever since you brought up this moving in thing, which, I know is sudden and I don't wanna put pressure on you or on me at all, but I just was checking some out. And, yeah. I thought I'd let you know that to show that I'm just as serious about this as you are. I know I'm not the best at talking about feelings and whatnot so this is me trying my best."

"Carrie, baby, I know you're serious about this, I always have. And the fact that you were looking at houses makes me happy, but not happier than you do."

"Ew, Harry, stop," I laughed and he joined. "I appreciate you being sweet and stuff, but there's a line that you cross sometimes."

"You're so bad at receiving compliments and just in general when it comes to emotions."

"Yeah, I don't know how to take them or deal with them. Makes me feel awkward and I just wanna disappear from the face of the earth."

"Anyway," he sighed. "You're coming then and I won't see you. Guess that's fine actually, because I have work."

"Yeah but then I'll be moving in soon after that so that's gonna be fun. And stressful."

"We'll hire people to do it, I'm not about to carry all your shit in my car from Manchester to here. It'd take us about a week to get everything sorted."

"I'm not gonna take everything, I don't think. I'll leave some stuff home because chances are, I'm probably going to get new clothes anyway," I explained. "But you do what you think is best. I have to go now though. Still have to pack and mum just got home so I'll break the news to her and everything."

"Alright, let me know what she says," he said.

"Will do, bye."

"Love you, bye."

"Love you, too."
