SIXTY EIGHT

Carrington Hill

Going from teaching full classes to doing private sessions was weird but definitely a nice change. I had a couple, both of them aged eighteen who were just looking for a new dance organisation to change to and they ended up at ours. This was my first class with them so I was a bit nervous but it went amazingly. They showed me what they knew and it was pretty impressive.

I had them for two hours but we took a ten-minute break in between for obvious reasons. And since I only had that lesson left for the day, I was pretty relieved once we sorted the payment and scheduled the next class. My life was slowly becoming what I always imagined it to become and I grinned to myself as I turned up the music in the room and began dancing on my own. I was a bit tired but as soon as one of the samba songs began to play, I felt my blood start to boil and my hips began to sway to the rhythm.

The mirror reflected my every move that I intensely watched, looking out for any mistakes I had been doing all along to make sure I could perfect it. My hands were on the side of my face as my feet stepped right on time to make the next move. I spun around and stopped as I would at a competition since the choreography was made up like this. Without Alex there, it was weird as he would've been doing his bits then but I managed.

"Knock, knock," I heard through the music right as I made another turn and pointed right at him.

I laughed to myself as I stood on my feet properly and took my hair bobble out then put my hair back in a bun properly. Alex walked to the laptop that was plugged into the speakers and stopped the music.

"Speaking of the devil," I laughed and said in between quick breaths. We shared kisses on the cheek and then I took my water bottle and chugged it all. "How come you're in?"

"I was in the other room with the beginners. Just had a class," he told me.

"Ah, right," I nodded. "How was it?"

"I mean it wasn't much different to what I did back in Manchester," he shrugged. "Lovely bunch, it was fun. How was your private lesson? I have one tomorrow from eleven."

"Oh, do you? I loved it. It's so good. You get to give all your attention to one couple and help them with whatever they need help with. Also, it's so much easier to give them advice on things and like just show them how to make different moves look better. You'll definitely enjoy it."

"How long was your session?"

"Tow hours, just finished like ten minutes ago," I told him. "I'm going soon, I was just dancing a bit."

"Haven't done it enough today, eh?" he laughed and I did the same with a little eye roll. "Julie emailed us, by the way."

"What did she say?"

"Just an email to everyone about the championship in Blackpool."

"Ah, right. No, I haven't seen it yet. Are we going?"

"I'm up for it."

"When do we have to register by?"

"Think Julie's already put all our names in and sent it to them, so," he snickered and I was not surprised.

"Is she gonna fund our travels to Blackpool or is she making us pay for it?"

"Most likely the second option."

I rolled my eyes a little and then pushed myself away from the desk. Don't get me wrong, Julie is amazing at what she does but she also knows how to get on my nerves easily.

"We should probably fit some rehearsals in then, shouldn't we?" I asked, though I already knew that the answer was yes to this. "Do you have anymore classes this afternoon?"

"Nope, I'm free. You?"

"Okay, cool, same," I nodded. "Should we put it down as one of the days then? From now till like, I don't know. However long we can go."

"Sounds like a plan, mate," he said and I walked up the two stairs next to him then sat on the chair and pulled my laptop closer to me.

Once I saved the changes in my calendar on my laptop, I felt like I had enough of a rest. If Julie actually did register us at the championship then we had to get to working if we wanted to get good results. I shot a quick text to Harry about me staying a bit later though I didn't get a response so I assumed he was busy.

The rehearsal went great, I ended up leaving the studio completely sweaty and smelly. Which, was not a great experience though nothing I wasn't used to. When I got back to Harry's – or should I say home – it was quiet and dark. So, with my bag on my shoulder I made my way upstairs after I locked the front door. Quiet snores filled the hallway that came from the bedroom. I smiled to myself as I left my bag on the floor and then quietly went straight to the bathroom.

After a quick but definitely refreshing shower, I was in my pyjamas and in bed as soon as I plugged my phone on charge.

"Mmwhat you doing?" Harry's deep voice scared me for a millisecond, he sighed and slowly opened his eyes.  Cuddled to his shoulder and pressed a little kiss on his skin before I leaned my forehead against it.

"Nothing, go back to sleep," I murmured and placed my leg over his under the quilt. Then he stirred in bed until he was facing me and scooted so close that the tip of his cold nose bumped against my chin.

"Okay, I love you," he sighed after he completely cuddled into me and took his position as the little spoon.

I took a deep breath before I placed my hand on his head and said, "I love you."

I woke up to Harry talking angrily on the phone to someone.

My forehead creased as I stretched out and turned on my side to cuddle the quilt to my chest. Even with him being pissed off, I smiled to myself at the fact that now I live here with him. Every morning I woke up ever since I moved in, it has been like this. Which is crazy because I was never one to enjoy waking up of a morning.

"Mate, I couldn't care less if I'm being honest," Harry laughed which sounded like an evil laugh from a movie. I mean, to be fair, he was an actor after he starred in one movie. A pretty big one at that. "Oh, don't you even come at me with that bullshit," he argued back to whatever had been said. "Zayn, just shut up, will you? Or do I need to remind you of the time when you completely fucked me and Liam off for your girlfriend to do so?"

I rolled my lips into my mouth as I listened to his harsh voice fill the bedroom. He then turned around and looked right into my – tired – eyes and his lips slightly fell apart. He looked ready to start his day, black skinnies hugged his delicious thighs with the button and zipper clearly undone. He didn't have a shirt on or any socks, just jeans and his grey Calvins that cheekily peeked out from under the black material.

"Yeah, sure, whatever. Fuck off, please," and then he buttoned Zayn as I had the privilege to find out. He let out a heavy sigh, his chest heaved up and down as it entered and exited his lungs. He chucked the phone on the bed as he walked past it, straight into the bathroom to which he slammed the door closed.

"He's calling you again," I said loudly to him when the phone began to buzz again and I turned it around to see who it was. Harry didn't respond so I just placed the phone screen facing down on the bed again and with a huff, I pushed the quilt to the side. The cool air caused a shiver to run down my spine while I walked over to the bathroom door and knocked on it. "Can I come in? I need to pee."

I didn't get a reply in the form of words but more so in actions. The door opened and he walked right in the shower then closed the glass door on him. I didn't pay much attention to his hissy fit but instead went and did my thing. Once my stomach didn't hurt anymore and my face and mouth were clean, I let him be and went back to the room to get ready.

Rose greeted me downstairs with a warm smile and cup of tea which I took right away and sipped on it. Soon after that she placed a plate of warm and mouthwatering breakfast in front of me that I quite literally inhaled. Eating healthy was easy with her around because she knew what I could and couldn't eat and it also stopped me from having cheat meals since it was Rose who prepared them.

"Anything interesting you're doing today?" she asked me while doing her thing around the house.

What I had noticed ever since I first met her was the little change that I felt like I made. The first time I was here she wouldn't have asked me about my plans for the day as opposed to now. It was usually always me who started the conversation and although she did reply she kept is short and sweet. I thought that was because Harry never really chatted to her more than he had to.

But the more times I stayed over and made this place feel like my own home, it was like I made her feel more comfortable. I mean I'm not saying this to sound big headed or anything, but I did notice the gradual change in the way she was and I quite liked it. Though, I must admit, that here and there I still remember those times when Harry made her call him Mr Styles when he could literally be her grandson.

"I'm thinking of going to the dance studio as I still have a bit of paperwork to get done and I'm not so sure I could get it done here. Too much distraction."

"Would you like me to make you some snacks or early lunch possibly?"

"I might take up on the snacks option, actually. That'd be great to keep me fuelled until I get back home."

"Sure, darling," she nodded. "I'll get it ready and set it in the fridge."

"Thank you so much."

I sat in the lounge room as I texted Alex and basically chatted shit. He asked me if we could go get new dance shoes for him because he feels as though he needs a new pair for this new start. I laughed at his reasoning but I agreed to go, regardless. I didn't have anything else planned anyway and whenever we used to come to London for necessities, we always wished we could just spend hours in the shop.

"Carrie?" I heard Harry's voice call my name and I hummed while I waved my hand but kept my eyes on the screen of my phone.

"In here," I ended up saying then went back to typing my message to Alex.

"Can you please come to this lunch thing with me today?" he asked and I already felt bad for having to cancel as I lifted my head and looked at him. "It's at half one so we have a bit of time to get ready and be there."

"Sorry, gorgeous, I'm working," I said with apologetic eyes and a soft voice though my eyebrows quickly furrowed as I saw him roll his eyes at me and he scoffed. "Excuse you? What was that?"

"Nothing, absolutely nothing," he said with a smile that was nowhere near genuine but more so annoyed and sarcastic.

"Oh, come off it, man," I stated a bit more in shape this time, a little dry laugh added at the end as I locked my phone and put it beside me. "You're in a shit mood cos you just had an argument with your best friend, I get it. But don't fucking take it out on me."

"I didn't say anything nasty or wrong to you, chill out."

"Yeah, you didn't. Not yet at least," I said sternly. "Your pissy attitude is showing though. So, I'd rather you talk to me about what crawled up your arse or just ignore me for as long as you get out whatever it is. Sounds fair, doesn't it?"

"Whatever," he mumbled and then turned around and walked off. Again, nothing I haven't experienced before with him. And to think that he was twenty-five years old, completely blew my mind.
