FIFTY SIX
Harry Styles
Taking my girlfriend to China to be able to have her meet a rather well-known model might be a bit over the top for some however for me it was kind of normal? I mean I was surrounded with money, extravagant people, places and things. For others who are in the "celebrity world" this would have been a simple weekend trip in between two projects they are working on.
Of course, I knew Carrington was not used to this life so I tried to make it seem as normal as I could and not to blow my own trumpet, I think I did alright. The fact that I never really let the money and fame get to me, probably helped a ton as well.
Overall, it was a good trip. My girl got to meet my colleague who was more than happy to meet her and felt honoured to be getting to know her a little. We also got to discover Shanghai too, do touristy things and spend some quality time together. By quality time I don't only mean have sex although we did go at it for a week straight, but also talked about our plans regarding our careers and what we wanted to do when it came to our relationship.
As of right now, long distance was the only option for us if we wanted to stay together which obviously was our plan. However, the longer we stayed in this situation the harder it became. Sure, work took our minds off of one another but for instance after a long day of interviews, fittings or whatever it would have been lovely to get home to the one who I love dearly. There was this one time when I joked around saying she should move in with me and although somewhere deep down I was kinda serious about the topic, I never told her that. She said no to it though, even if I made it seem like a joke which I understood completely. But it also put me off of asking her again. And now with her career blossoming slowly but surely, I highly doubted she'd even wanna think of moving on top of everything.
We got back really late a week after Carrington met Adriana and since we flew back to Manchester, I stayed at hers for the night. When I woke up that morning, I was alone in bed which made me huff and I started to get ready. Mainly because my stomach was growling and I needed food as soon as it was possible. And a nice cup of tea.
Grey joggers around my hips hung low as my white t-shirt covered the top half of my body. I put my thick socks on that Carrington bought for me at the airport because it was a two for one deal so now we have matching socks. It was comfortable though and also very slippery because as soon as I got off the stairs I lost my balance and almost butted the floor.
Buster crawled around my leg which made me smile and I leaned down to pet the dog. That attracted Leo there as well so I just stood at the bottom of the stairs, petting the dogs. They were needy, much like their owner when she was tired.
"Good morning," I said loudly as I walked in the living room then in the kitchen that was opened into one with the dining room. What I did not expect was to find Mr Hill, Lesley, Eloise and my girlfriend sitting around the table. "Oh, uh, hey."
"Harry, pal, hello!" Lesley stood up with a wide smile on his lips, his hand collided with mine in a high five then pulled me in a manly hug.
"Hey, you good?" I asked him with a smile, still slightly surprised to see him in person. The last time I had the chance to was in the summer, on his birthday actually yet it felt so much longer.
"Yeah, yeah man I'm good. How 'bout you?" he questioned. "Heard you just got back from Shanghai. How was that?"
"Sick, mate, really good," I told him then smiled at Eloise who disappeared into the kitchen. I was shocked to see her home since Carrington said she wouldn't be home. "Mr Hill, good to see you," I spoke to the man who sat next to her daughter, face a bit tired looking so I assumed they just got back.
"Henry," he nodded towards me and I almost rolled my eyes. I honestly expected him to call me that which made me wonder if he did it on purpose to just piss me off or-, well, that was the only thing that could explain it.
"Dad."
"Dad."
"Aaron."
My tongue poked in my cheek as all three members of the family looked at Mr Hill with a look and they called him out. I sat down on one of the chairs, my gaze flickered over to Carrington, who looked like a right mess. She looked tired and drained which again, didn't surprise me because she didn't sleep on the plane ride and she probably didn't rest much during the night either. This had to be her worst jet lag yet.
"Right, so dad. Are you being serious?" Carrington asked her father which left me confused. This probably showed on my facial expression because Lesley looked at me then over to his sister before he bit down on his cheek.
"Yes, darling, very serious," Mr Hill smiled at her daughter who just sat back with a stunned look on her face. "I have yet to tell your brother about it, which I will as I am planning on visiting him later today."
"Why don't you go now?" she asked.
"Carrie, your father and brother just got in not too long ago. You're not the only one who's dealing with a nasty jet lag," Eloise spoke up as she put a cup of tea down in front of me with a smile. I then realised that everyone already had one, the colour of mine just perfect, like I liked my tea. "Would you like some breakfast, Harry?"
"If it's not too much of a problem, I would love some, yes," I told her. "And thank you for the tea, Eloise."
"No need to thank me, lovey. Is it alright? Would you like some more sugar or milk?"
"You made it just perfect, thank you," I grinned at her and she patted my shoulder then went back in the kitchen. Damn, I missed her which may sound weird but she's almost like a second mother to me.
"I think I'm gonna go bed," Lesley yawned as he pushed the chair out and that made a loud noise. My head turned to the side where I heard Leo's barking coming from and then laughed when he ran to me and stood on his two legs while the other two were against the side of my chair.
Once Lesley left, my breakfast was ready and I felt a little out of place as Mr Hill and Eloise talked. Later, the parents left to do their things – and I don't mean to have sex or at least I'd like to not think about that too much – and so it was just me and Carrington. She was busy typing away on her phone while I ate and drank my tea. It wasn't an awkward silence, with her it never really was.
"I might be going to California for the holidays," she blurted out as I sipped on my tea. My elbows were on the table as I held the mug between my hands and raised an eyebrow when she told me the news. "Before you came down, dad told mum and I that he wants us to go out and spend Christmas there. He's planning on going to Harrison's accommodation today to tell him about it."
"That's great, isn't it?" I smiled at her as I placed my mug down. She sighed and I looked at her confused. "What is it?"
"I just don't know if I want to go."
"Why not?"
"Because, well, I wanted to spend Christmas with you," she looked down and pulled her leg up so her chin rested on her knee. Her eyes were looking down and I felt my heart hurt a little but also fill up with happiness at what she said. I grinned, lovingly, and when her eyes met mine she spoke up again. "Don't look at me like that."
"Like what?" I chuckled.
"With soft eyes and, I don't know. Just don't," she laughed as she covered her face with her hands. I stood up from my seat and moved over to her, my arm went around her shoulder and pulled my girlfriend in to my body.
"Listen, go, spend the holidays in California," I told her as I completely wrapped her up in a cuddle and pressed a kiss onto her hair. "I want you to go, okay? You been saying how much you want to go out there and just be there with your family. Go. Make it happen, babe. There's nothing holding you back."
"I just got back from a trip and I'm off to another?" she asked, more so stated. I hummed and waited for her to carry on. "I can't do this or else all my plans will go to shit and Alex and I will never end up with a studio or anything."
"Don't tell me you'd be working through the holiday?!"
"I was planning on it because I thought mum would be in work anyway, dad and Les in LA and I have no idea whether Harrison wants to come home or not."
"Right, but things have changed. Your family is gonna go to LA and spend some time there. It will be fun and you'd be missing out if you wouldn't go. Especially for me," I let out a little laugh. Obviously, spending the holidays with my girlfriend would be lovely however this was her chance to visit somewhere where she has never been to before.
"Why are you pushing me so much to go? Don't you want to spend Christmas with me?" she peered up at me with those big, gorgeous brown eyes that made me weak at the knees and made the butterflies come alive in my stomach. I kissed her forehead then her nose and placed my right hand on her cheek.
"I am pushing you to go because you deserve to go. Spending Christmas with you would be the greatest thing on this planet however we are going to have many-many Christmases together. I don't want you getting tired of my festive ass just yet."
Her smile made an appearance, her teeth showing, eye crinkles letting me know she was genuinely happy by what I said. When she licked her lips, I licked mine and so wanted to kiss her though that was ruined when she decided to speak instead.
"You really think we'll have more Christmases together?"
"Why wouldn't I think that?" I let out a little laugh and pulled her legs on my lap, my hands gripped her limb and she pushed me at my shoulder. "I genuinely do see a future with you."
"I do as well," she confessed with a smile, happiness shone brightly through her eyes.
"I wouldn't have asked you out or continued on with being in this long-distance relationship if I wouldn't have seen a future with you. I want us to work, I want us to grow together and be more successful than we already are. I want to spend the holidays, birthdays, my mornings and nights with you. I really am serious about this which is why I'm so sure that we will have more Christmases together and you should go with your family."
"Fuck sake, I love you so much," she pouted and I thought she was gonna cry for a second. I didn't have enough time to see though because she attacked me with a kiss, a long one at that with tongue and everything and it honestly knocked me off my feet. Even though I was sitting.
"I love you right back, sunshine," I smiled at her and truly meant my words. My love for her grew every day and it was impossible for me to ever stop.

Later that day I flew back to London and went straight to bed. My mind and body were completely off and I wanted nothing else but time to sleep. I didn't even bother unpacking or taking a shower, I didn't even change, I just fell in bed and cuddled one of my pillows to sleep.
The following day was a Monday and I had a meeting scheduled. It was actually a final meeting for my new project that I had been working on with a very well-known magazine, or so I knew it very well – the Another Man Magazine. I have worked with them before but not to the extent I have this time.
I am going to be on three magazine covers and they will all be different although the content will be the same in each. This was supposed to happen months ago but I had the Burberry show and other things going on so the time was never exactly there. Sure, I have done some photoshoots with them for this specifically otherwise there wouldn't be any pictures of me with long hair.
After the meeting I was on my way to meet up with Niall for lunch since we haven't seen each other in a really long time. I was still quite surprised that we became mates simply because I always admired him and his work ethic from afar. Therefore now, to be able to say that I hang out with him and he is my friend is rather shocking yet also feels like an achievement. Kind of.
My phone flashed when I got stopped at a red light, my thumb hovered over the middle button before I pressed it down and it unlocked my phone. I had new messages from Carrington which already made me smile.
Carrington: i miss u
Carrington: lol i wanna go London so badd
Carrington: are the Christmas decorations up yet?
Considering I was driving I didn't want to text so I called her instead and put it on speaker.
"Hey babe," I said when she picked up.
"Hey, can I call you on facetime?"
"Sure," I replied and then she buttoned me. Soon enough, I had an incoming facetime call which I obviously accepted and was faced with my stunning girlfriend.
"I'm back," she said as I pushed down the indicator and looked in the rear-view mirror in the middle so I could change lanes. "Where you off to?"
"Umm, having lunch with Niall," I mumbled and rolled my eyes when a twat almost drove into me. I even pressed down on the horn and shook my head at how idiotic that person was. "Sorry, cunts on the road don't know how to drive."
"Sounds like a real problem," she giggled and I smirked. Of course, she'd take the piss. "Anyways, so, you meeting up with Niall for lunch. What you doing after?"
"Not sure," I answered. She huffed and my eyes travelled down to my phone to look at her. That made me miss her a lot and I wondered if the Irish man would be mad at me if I decided to change routes and go back to Manchester instead. "Any plans for you today?"
"Yeah I think we're gonna go check out a few studios with Alex and Scott."
"You don't sound too excited, babe."
"That's cos I'm not," she snorted and I raised an eyebrow in a curious manner. "I thought about this whole renting and you know I already teach classes at the studio I'm at right now. I have for a while now and although I really want to have my own business I don't think I should be doing that right now."
"Why are you saying that?" my question was genuine, I was really interested in what she wanted to do with her career and future or just in general. I also wanted her to know that I was there for her whether she needed that or not.
"It's stressful and it's not doing any good to my anxiety. Obviously, I'm excited to progress but right now I don't think I should. What if I get promoted at the studio now or something but I fuck it off for my own plans that may not even work out?"
"That's a risk you gotta take, Carrington," I said simply. It was the truth. "If you are not gonna go over with what you want, that chance of yours might slip through your fingers."
"I know," she mumbled. "I just don't know."
"Well..."
"I'm so confused with it all. I might call Mia and talk to her about it."
"Sure baby, do it. She might have a different perspective on the whole situation and that might help."
"Yeah, I hope so," she sighed. "Just wanted to call you to talk to you for a little bit. I miss you."
"That's fine, you know you can call me whenever. I miss you too," I told her, my gaze shifted to the camera just to catch her pouting. "Babe, don't look so sad."
"I am."
"I'm sorry I wish I could be there to help you."
"Me too," silence followed that reply until she decided to speak up again. "Anyway, I'll let you drive and call Mia. Let me know how that lunch of yours went with Niall later or somet."
"Alright, I will definitely," I said with a smile. "Try and not stress so much though, okay? Everything will be fine, trust me."
"We'll see," she chuckled.
"Okay, well, talk to you later baby. I love you."
"I love you, bye."
