Wedding bells
July 20th, 11:30,
Hawaii island
(the big one).
****************
"I appreciate the feeling, Ochako. But we'll be happier if you fulfil your dream of being a hero. And that day, you might be able to take us to Hawaii..."
****************
That was the memory that visited Uraraka's mind when she slightly turned to see their parents on their respective chairs. Like more than one that day, on that paradise beach, they were happier than ever.
After all, they were attending to their daughter's wedding in Hawaii.
Their precious grown up daughter was wearing a long but light and sleeveless white dress, appropriate for the Caribbean summer. Ochako also wore a necklace and a crown made of white flowers, matching all her outfit and bouquet.
Uraraka thought that if there was no perfect man in the world, Deku came closer than anyone. That would do for a nice conclusion to her vows, which almost ruined Deku's hard self training for not bursting into tears at that moment.
When Deku came to tell her the idea he had come up with in the middle of their most dangerous mission to date, it sounded too good to be possible. So he was initially distracted from planning their wedding by work... and now he was distracted from work by his own wedding plan.
"You see... the authorities, hotel owners and inhabitants are grateful and insist on repaying us in some way. We have been talking... I talked with Iida and Yaoyorozu... they called everyone else... oh, and I called my mother... and your parents..."
Just three days later, their families, friends and closest people were reunited in lines of white chairs under the Sun of Hawaii as the world's favorite hero couple recited their vows gave each other the "I do" words.
Their best man and maid of honour had made sure to reunite all the guests from Japan, while their hosts improvised a nice altar completed with flowers (many guests and their minister himself were wearing their own necklace), treepalms and other classical Hawaii decorations.
Since they planned everything in a few days, Momo had taken care of creating two new outfits for the protagonists of that day. The credit, she said, would go to a young designer who happened to be there and gently offered to help.
Now the bride had just made their way to the groom's side in a new amazing dress, more suitable for the weather in that island. Deku had awaited for her in a matching white suit, this time keeping his messy green hair due to Uraraka's petition. If something isn't broken, why fix it?
"Well then!" Mayor Nezu joyfully declared from his high pedestal. "Deku and Uravity: by the power invested in me, as the Mayor of Tokyo, I now pronounce you... MAN AND WIFE! You may kiss the bride...!"
Before the line was completed, Uraraka had already jumped ahead, kissing Deku so hard he almost lost his balance.
"...or you may let the bride kiss you, either is good!" Nezu shrugged.
The public's reaction was immediate and the clapping was monumental. However, neither could tell if they actually heard it until the moment they separated and looked at each other, recognizing themselves as official life partners.
Of course, such moment wouldn't leave indifferent those people who had long anticipated it.
"Well, these two are finally married. The Earth can keep turning now " Bakugou had joined the clapping in moderation and a not too enthusiastic way.
A moment ago, when Nezu asked if someone had something to say before the two were united, he got up and textually told Deku he didn't think Ochako was making a mistake by marrying him. When it came to Bakugou, that was enough to get a big "daww" from the public and make him regret he even spoke in the first place.
"Not so fast, sweetheart" his date smirked. "I was just thinking this is a really, really lovely wedding..."
"All right, all right!" Bakugou growled in his seat. "Just wait: we can have a much more superior one! I will take care of it!"
"Ohhhh, is that a proposal I'm hearing?" Camie intentionally gasped, as she naughtily came closer to his ear.
"Each... thing... at its time! Damnit!!" an embarrassed Bakugou struggled to keep it quiet. "Let's celebrate this thing now!"
The new marriage followed the walkway between claps, hand shaking, flower necklaces, and some considerable parents' tearing, particularly from Inko. The waves were right there, but one could have used her tears for surfing instead.
Deku finally met All Might. His mentor's old skinny appearance had left place to a reasonably muscular and athletic shape within his age, which granted him a generous hug.
"What can I say, my boy: from now on, there is nothing left for me to teach you."
"Don't say that. You will always be the best. Plus, there is one last favour I would like to ask you..." Deku told him, while Uraraka took a picture with her parents and Inko.
"Whatever you need today, Izuku."
"Ochako's parents are having their own days of holidays here. So is Mom, but I don't want her to feel alone after the wedding. So... would you care to join her?"
"Huh?" All Might babbled. "Young Midoriya... this is something unexpected..."
"Come on, All Might, I know you as well as I know my mother" Deku sighed. "I'm sure she must already have invited you. This is Hawaii and you both deserve some good vacations after everything you've been through. I wouldn't be here it weren't for you two. It would mean a lot to me, really."
All Might was happy to hear Deku's words, and equally happy that was a private conversation between them. He cleared his throat and gave him his answer:
"So be it, young Deku! I consider this task as an honour and I will be up to it!"
"Thanks, All Might. You are always there for me."
"And I always will, boy" All Might said with infinite affection. "Even when I am not, considering what you told me about your adventure..."
Deku smiled in response. The vortex was a hellish experience, but he never felt alone inside.
While the happy new couple were taken some pictures for the ages, the guests spoke about their own unfinished business.
"Are you sure you want to do that?" Momo asked in a private conversation.
"I have made my decision and everyone is fine with it, including Dad" Todoroki caringly said, holding her hand. "We are both taking this job as UA teachers."
Momo had no doubt Todoroki was as suited for the job as herself. The UA would need new and younger teachers to prepare te next generation, and two former top students would be more than welcome.
"My, I can see all the teen girls fighting each other for sitting closer to you at class..." Momo knew how fangirls could get with the best good looking heroes, but after those years of dating she had learnt to take that humorously.
"This from the great Creati, the one who can't be removed from every year's Top 10 Most Beautiful Female Heroes" Todoroki taunted.
"Silly" Momo sweetly muttered. "By the way, we will definitely be needing a bigger place..."
"Oh yes. A nice house, not too far from the school, with a garden so we can play with our kid..."
"Kids" Momo finally dropped the second half of the bomb.
Todoroki stood there in shock for a moment and his eyes found Jirou looking at them from the line behind. Needless to say she knew what they were talking about when she widely smiled and raised two fingers to answer his question.
"Kids...?" his attention returned to Momo, who placed her hands in her womb and nodded happily.
Todoroki let all the air out and hugged her. So he had hit the double prize: twins were on the way. Well, that would worth of a celebration of their own when they returned home.
"Oh my God, it is time!" Momo cried. She left the place in a hurry, almost scaring Todoroki. "I'll be right back!"
Todoroki stood and rolled his eyes in amusement. Momo didn't have to get the bouquet at all. All he needed was to think of some special way to ask her sooner than later.
Speaking of which, he caught sight of the Nejire and Eri making her way in a haste too. Mirio, Tamaki and Kota also watched the two last contendants for the bouquet catching challenge.
"I honestly think Nejire is more likely to win" for not wearing his hood, Tamaki was confident on his affirmation.
"You look nervous, my friend" Mirio inquired.
"Well... we just decided to make our thing official... and imagine if we had to take it to an even greater level..." old Tamaki blushed.
"Take it easy, it is a tradition, not a rule. And she has some good competitors there."
"Speaking of which, why does Eri even need to participate? She is only fourteen" Kota frowned.
"What's the matter? Are you affraid of being the next one?"
"Very funny, Lemillion" Kota was getting used to the shipping. "But I think you need a girl more than I do."
"You're probably right" Mirio laughed. "Specially now there is nothing left I can teach Deku..."
Funny fact, he caught sight of Melissa. If it was all about spirit, she was as likely to win as any girl.
Now the bride had become the wife, it was the moment the rest of the young ladies had been waiting for. Ochako was already on her post showing her back to the (various) contendants, with the bouquet ready.
The other girls, which included her closest friends, the once students from Class B, Nejire, Hatsume and Eri, among others, were turning the tradition into a battlefield.
"Toru! Put your clothes back, you cheater!" Mina complained.
"Leave me alone! It is not my fault if I have this advantage!"
"Well, if she is going to use her Quirk, I will too!"
"Wait! If Quirks are allowed, so are my babies!!"
Ochako decided it was best to hurry up.
"Everyone ready!?" she asked, being careful not to activate her Quirk. "HERE IT COMES!!"
For a moment the bouquet described its trayectory to the hungry hands that awaited it. Hits, electroshocks, acid, vines and other things were exchanged; it was every girl for herself.
The bouquet began to fall, but then...
"OUT OF THE WAY, LADIES!!"
The girls stood on the sand, with a funny expression on their faces as they looked at the now still dark purple blur that had just caught the bouquet in middle air.
None understood what was that about. But then Dark Shadow got down and came closer to a now even more shocked Tsuyu, who took the bouquet she was handed.
"I'm sorry, Tsu..." Tokoyami muttered, as he got red on his unexisting cheeks and Dark Shadow pushed him towards her. "I just can't take him anywhere..."
Oh, sure, let him blame Dark Shadow in that bright and sunny day on the beach, where he was supposed to have total control over him...
Tsuyu was as blushed as she was moved, when the tip of her tongue briefly touched the tip of Tokoyami's beak. The others initially complained, and Monoma energically called it void and demanded a new shot because before Bakugou blasted him. But the moment was too cute to ruin it, so in the end they all clapped and resigned to accept their unexpected winner.
The toasting, cake cutting, the pictures taking... the wedding was so full of memorable moments hours passed like minutes. Luckily, only one reporter of Deku's trust had made it to the wedding and gave his body cameras a use like never before.
Mirio sipped his pounch as he cheered for Tamaki, who despite his shyness was doing a good job dancing with Nejire.
"Hey!" Melissa sat beside him to watch the dancers.
"Hey!" Mirio greeted her. "I'm sorry you didn't get the bouquet."
"Oh, it doesn't matter" the American smiled. "It is not like I am in some relationship anyway."
"Same here. Look at them: Midoriya dancing with his wife, and my two best friends dancing together. Soon they will have their own nest too and the Big Three will eventually separate."
"Oh... I'm sorry, Mirio. But as a team or on your own, you are heroes. And you will always be best friends."
"Of course. I'm just saying I am going to feel a bit lonely in the future..."
Melissa nodded.
"I guess that makes two of us..."
She was young, beautiful, popular and loved her job, but watching such happy couples always made people miss something in their lives.
Even a nervous Kota was having his moment on the dance floor. As it would be expected, Eri was cheerful and easily dominating the dance at first, but Kota slowly assumed the leading role and guided her. She was happy for finally celebrating Deku and Ochako's wedding, but everybody knew she had tears to shed for the grandfather she never was too close to. And this time she wouldn't be comforted by Lemillion's cape, but by Kota's arms. There was a hero for every ocassion, and Kota was the one Eri needed now.
And Kota had promised to take care of Eri at his idol's wedding.
"Well! Enough thinking for today!" Mirio got up and tended his hand to Melissa. "Wanna dance?"
"Oh! I'd love to!" Melissa was surprised by his invitation, but she felt strangely confident. "Do you know how to dance?I am a bit out of practice."
"Lady, please: I was the one who trained Tamaki for today" Mirio blinked his eye.
Melissa laughed as the two joined for the new song playing.
By the time the Sun began to set, the group of young girls sat together at one of the tables, where they happily chatted and congratulated Tsuyu for her "compromise."
"Ribbit! We haven't talked yet !" she blushed as she held the bride's bouquet.
"Ohh, but when it comes to love, true men show, don't tell!" Toru blinked an invisible eye.
"Oh... my... God..." Jirou gasped in excitement as she checked a notification on her phone. "Girls, you need to see this!"
When she announced some pictures and videos of Deku's original bachelor party had gone viral, all the girls were curious to death. The boys had celebrated a second party in Hawaii, but that time their old teachers would be near keeping an eye on them, so they would have to moderate. Obviously, they trusted their men, but there was no way there wouldn't be something funny to see. And given the drunk state at the moment of being photographed, they weren't wrong:
There was a picture of Deku hugging All Might's statue like a five year old would hug a giant plushie.
Another picture showed Sero wearing Iida's glasses while he posed beside an Iida sleeping by the hotel's swimming pool.
A video had also recorded Kaminari leaving a touching message voice for Jirou before he accidentally dropped it into an aquarium. Despite her mix of laughter and cringe, Jirou was touched indeed. Her favorite dummy in the world was a real charm.
Speaking of the aquarium, there some images of Koda using his Quirk so the fishes inside it work together to form the words of congratulations to Deku and positive sentences to all his friends.
Alcohol also seemed to work wonders on Aoyama, who could be seen in another pic. Like something out of a fanart, he Jojo posed shirtless in over the top manly fashion along with Kirishima and Sato.
Oh, and then some pics from the second bachelor party appeared too...
One of the pictures that made them laugh the most was the one where Kirishima and Bakugou looked about to puke and tried hard to clean their mouths after they kissed during some Truth or Dare.
But the golden medal would go to the pic of Aizawa and Ms Joke celebrating one of those casino weddings on their hero costumes. Later they would learn that the marriage was official and Ms Joke knew it. The question was if Aizawa did too.
Deku once more thanked all his friends, relatives and teachers for bringing him to that unique moment of his life. He also thanked the personal of the island, who were euphoric for being the hosts of two Pro Heroes' wedding, their help and hospitality. And of course, he thanked the young English designer for his tuxedo and Ochako's wedding, who was more than pleased to have helped and being able to assist to the wedding with her sister and a couple of friends. Unfortunately, it was time for them to go home, but they would most likely meet again.
The heroes had been succesful and a new future opened for them. They knew not every moment would be as bright and joyful as that day, but they chose to be heroes and would welcome the bumps and new villains they would face from now on. But in the meantime, Deku had a new life to share with Ochako and he would live it to the fullest.
"... and I, the chronical of this epic adventure, was certain about it" a brown haired young writer finished writing on his notebook.
"Hey, Honest!" Oji greeted as she came to meet her friend along with Lily. "Still writing the story?"
"Come on, we want to know how it ends!" Lily demanded.
"Easy, girls. This time I got it! For real!" Honest adjusted his glasses and smirked. "Now all we need is to find Ben to return. I haven't seen him since he attacked Monoma before the wedding started..."
"Hey! We had to make sure he wasn't Toga in disguise again, right?" Ben appeared inside a portal that appeared just before them. "The vortex made me lose our way for a moment, but we made it! Time to return to our timeline, passengers! Everyone aboard! You can tell me how cool I truly am on our way home!"
Oji, Lily and Honest rolled their eyes, but the four of them happily entered the portal. There was still room for a couple extra chapters for that story, but the narrator assured everything was under control.
End of chapter 49.
Finally... this was the chapter that motivated me to write this whole fanfic two years ago.
All I can say is I hope it was worth waiting for you, my Watties. You have supported me all this time and you deserve the best.
