Reunion
July 2nd, 16:00.
Train station.
"No, no, no!" Momo said through the phone. "I don't care about the refund! I specifically asked for the yellow ones!"
It was middle summer and there was a considerable crowd invading the station. Some were there to catch a train, others just arrived, and others like Momo Yaoyorozu were just waiting for someone. Fortunately she had been able to create her own bench while she talked to the organizer.
"Listen here Mr, I'm not talking to you as Creati but as the maid of honor: this is one of my best friends' wedding and they deserve perfection! And we have one week to achieve that!" then she saw the person she was waiting for approaching. "I'll call you tomorrow morning..." she concluded as she happily got up from the bench and run to meet him.
Todoroki had just got off the train with a bag hanging from his shoulder and received her in a hug, and with an unusually warm smile he only reserved for her. After some days out because of work it was great to meet and kiss Momo again. Well, he also had to arrive soon enough for the party and the wedding. Todoroki was one of the witnesses after all.
"I was dying to see you" he told her. "I'm sorry we couldn't talk too much..."
"Hey, it's all right, Shoto" Momo replied in a smooth voice, taking his face in her hands and looking into his differently colored eyes. She knew Todoroki very well and was conscious about how he would feel. "I know you've been busy. I watched the news and I saw you at the Tokyo Rainbow Bridge stopping a villain. It was incredible!"
"Well, I basically froze the entire bridge, so it's not like a villain with the Quirk of turning into gas had any chance" he smiled modestly. "But I mean it, Momo. We've been a couple for so long and work is no excuse for taking me so much time to contact with my girlfriend. You know how much I hate this kind of mistakes..."
"You won't make those same mistakes, ok?" Momo firmly declared. "Those were your father's, not yours. Furthermore, I have been busy too since Ochaco made me her maid of honor".
"She chose well, no doubt about it. You know about formal ceremonies more than anyone from Class 1A" Todoroki nodded in good mood. He took her hand while they made their way out of the station. That still made her shiver and blush. "By the way, you are hosting her bachelorette party at your house, aren't you?"
"Of course! Kyoka, Mina and I have the best ideas! Camie, Hatsume and Melissa are coming as well. At the moment Toru, Mina, Jirou and Tsuyu are helping with the last decorations of the place. It is great Mr Aizawa offered the U.A. rooftop to be adapted for the occasion. It is so poetic they are getting married in the place where they became so close..." she muttered, hiding the color of her face. Todoroki chuckled. He wished he had more romanticism in his veins. Those things would always take time when you come from a broken home. But Momo was totally worth of it.
"Iida texted me. Everything is ready for Midoriya's party. Fortunately he prevented Mineta from making it... well, what I'm sure Mineta thinks a stag-party should be".
"I'm sure he would rent a whole striptease club..." Momo sighed, disgusted. "By the way, I haven't told you yet: Kaminari is officially moving to Kyoka's place!" she was so happy that her friend's relationship was being consolidated.
"Really? That's great! Sero and Mineta are going to miss him" he regretted. They had had so much fun sharing a singles' rented house next to the beach, in Two and a Half Men fashion.
"Now you are here you better keep an eye on Midoriya" pointed Momo. He still could get way too sensitive in those situations. And this was his wedding they were talking about. Ochako's dress was too beautiful to be ruined by two geisers of happy tears.
"Totally. Right now he must be really nervous" Todoroki agreed. It had been a while since their last work together, but their friendship and rivalry remained intact and he couldn't wait to meet him again. The only thing he regretted was that Midoriya would eventually be too busy with his life as a married man.
"Do you want a dorayaki?" Momo asked showing him a bag full of them as she bit one. "Don't ask me why, but since the girls and I discovered that new coffee shop, I can't stop eating them" she admitted, a little embarrassed. "I'm so relieved that the use of my Quirk prevents me from getting fat..."
"Don't say that. I don't like you because of your looks" her boyfriend stated. His last words made it his turn to blush. "I mean, it's not that there is something wrong with your looks... because I absolutely love..."
"I know" Momo kissed his cheek. She loved those rare occasions where it was Todoroki the one who blushed.
July 2nd, 18:00.
The UA's rooftop.
"ALL RIGHT EVERYONE! LET'S CHECK EVERYTHING ONE MORE TIME!" the best man announced, organizing his papers and fitting his glasses.
"Jeez, I'm glad those two are the ones getting married, Tenya. You'd be the ultimate bridezilla!" Mei Hatsume joked not far from him.
Iida gnashed his teeth and wondered what he was thinking when he accepted to be Mei Hatsume's date for the wedding before getting back to his labor:
"Chairs?"
"Checked!" Shoji and Sero answered, giving thumbs up.
"Flowers?"
"Checked!" Mina smilingly answered as she put a crown made of the remaining yellow flowers around Toru's invisible head, making her giggle.
"Music?"
"Checked!" Jirou grinned playing a dramatic note with the keyboard.
"Cake?"
"When the day comes you are going to love it! I created the recipe myself!" Sato proudly declared.
"Illumination?"
"You think I'm an amateur, Mr Best Man?" teased Mei. She proceeded to show them the combination of colors and shapes the illumination system she invented had to offer. Iida was too busy mentally killing her to appreciate it.
"Witnesses ready?"
"I'm here, Iida" answered Todoroki. "Don't worry, when Bakugou is here I'll make sure he plays his part".
"Maid of honor?"
"I took care of everything! The bachelorette party will be great!"
"Bridesmaids?"
"As if you needed to ask!" Toru answered while Mina, Tsuyu, Jirou and her made an epic pose.
"Vows written?"
"Yes!" joyfully said Uraraka showing some small papers.
"Y...yes!" cried a breathless Deku, who had just arrived, escorted by All Might, showing his. They had spent too much time talking in one of the other rooftops.
"Hey Midoriya! It is the bride who is supposed to be late!" bugged Sero, using his Tape Quirk to drag him into the arms of Uraraka, making him get red due to the amount of people who were watching. Uraraka laughed and kissed his cheek. She internally wondered what would he have written for her.
"I'll never understand why people gets so crazy for these events..." an apathetic voice was suddenly heard.
"COME ON, ERASER! Show some emotion for once! The U.A. itself is hosting the wedding of two of our former students! THIS IS THE EVENT OF THE YEAR!" the always overloud tone of Present Mic replied. "And you are the one who offered it! I knew you had a heart of gold!"
"I only offered the place because it is built to keep the press outside. And the sooner these lovebirds are married, the sooner they will get rid of it and get back to work" Mr Aizawa shrugged.
"Aizawa! Don't you dare to pretend you are not happy for them!" All Might reprimanded him putting each of his arms around each of the couple.
The Principal sighed and gave half a smile before leaving. "If you are already done, I have to close and take a nap" he waved a hand.
All the friends left the building talking about how much they would enjoy the celebration. Deku took the opportunity to welcome Todoroki and thank him for accepting his role as witness. Then Uraraka got on his back in her childlike way, making him feel heart warmed. After saying good bye to everyone, Uraraka and him went back to their apartment, where he would prepare everything for the following day, since he would expend the rest of the week with his mother and Eri, while Mr and Mrs Uraraka came to visit their daughter.
However, there was a question Deku couldn't take out of his mind...
No, he wouldn't expose his concerns about the League of Villains to Todoroki. He had promised to stay out of work...
End of chapter 7.
I know there one or two strong supporters of TodoMomo among my readers, so I decided to include a brief yet nice reunion between those two. Trust me, there is a certain detail about that conversation that will give you a clue about something that will be revealed in further chapters...
A bit weird to make the wedding take place at the U.A., but like Aizawa said, it should be safe from reporters and photographers. And the first and only wedding I attended was at the age of four or five, so I'm doing what I can to describe it.
I may sound like a broken record, but I am always happy to know you keep enjoying this story. Don't forget to vote, comment, share and make suggestions if you want.
If everything goes according to my plan, the following chapters will focus on the parties, so don't go for a long time!
Honest Fiction sends his regards and wishes you are getting ready for Christmas!
See you soon, my fellows!
