Help is on the way

FLASHBACK 1
Two years ago...
"Does it hurt?"
"No..." Kota mumbled and looked on the opposite direction.
The cotton with alcohol over the cut of his eyebrow hurt like hell, but he wouldn't let a girl hear him complain. Let alone if that girl was Eri.
"Auch!"
"Sorry" Eri gave a warm smile at her friend's new failure to look tough. He had been like that since they were little. "But I need you to look here and stand still, please."
"Leave me alone. I didn't ask for your..." Kota felt his horned hat being removed and his mind entered shock. They assisted the same school, so she must have heard that touching Kota's trademark hat was synonym of getting into a fight with him. Only his aunt could do that safely. "What... what are you...?"
"There, much better this way" Eri could clean the cut more easily now. "And I said... look at me..." she repeated, more firmly but not less softly, as she used her hand to move Kota's face in that direction, "... and stand still."
While Eri remained focused on his eyebrow, a red angered Kota fulminated her with his eyes. Why should he let her do that? It wasn't of her business if he fought some jerks after school and why he decided to do it. Who did she think she was, with her lovely big red eyes, silky silver hair, bright smile and natural kindness to every person?
"Deku wouldn't want you to get into trouble at school" Eri checked how clean the cut was, apparently not noticing Kota's annoyance. "You'll end up worrying him."
Kota clenched his fists and didn't answer. That was the thing he disliked the most about her when he was allowed to visit the UA and meet Deku again. Since Eri was raised for a long time by the academy's teachers and students, they all spoiled her and treated her like a princess, and the worst part was the special bonding she had with the now Pro Hero. Deku was his friend and personal idol, but she was something similar to Eri, and when she appeared, Deku shared his time with both and even encouraged them to be friends. Eri melted the hearts of a whole school, but not happy with that, she had to steal his big brother figure. And yet she pretended to be nice to him.
"Speaking of Deku" Eri stopped for a moment what she was doing and took a small green figurine keychain Kota recognized immediately. "I was mostly moved when you replaced it and I don't know what to say... but it wasn't a big deal, really. And this is yours, so I must return it."
"I don't know what you're talking about" Kota lied in a blush. "That keychain could be anyone's. Why would I care if yours was crashed by some bullies?"
"I never told you they were some bullies who crashed it..." Eri responded.
Kota gulped. His evasive answer had been weaker than he thought.
"Were those the same you were fighting before?"
"Shut up..." Kota felt cornered and embarrassed, but denying his actions was getting each time more difficult. "I would have won if you hadn't put them on the run..."
"No, you wouldn't" Eri knew if she hadn't appeared and scared them thanks to her lightened grown horn, Kota would look like an even bigger mess. "Enough heroes have bled and suffered to protect me, and I don't want to add you to that list."
"I'm no hero" Kota stubbornly replied. "I just did what... well..."
"This is true. When you replaced my keychain with yours, you absolutely did what Deku would have done" Eri affectionately said returning to his cut. "You're a real gentleman when not pretending to be other thing."
Kota opened his mouth and looked back at the once again focused Eri, but this time he had no answer ready.
"Never mind" Kota finally mumbled. "You can keep the keychain. Deku cares more about you anyway..."
"Don't say that" Eri more sternly said, making him look at her again. "Deku cares about everyone. That's what makes him the coolest. In fact... don't you remember? The first time he defeated a villain was to save you. You really are special to him."
"He... he said that?" Kota babbled.
Eri nodded.
"He also says you shouldn't waste your potential on bullies; if you wanted you could join a school like UA and become a hero yourself, like them"
"Me? A hero?" Kota was surprised and flattered, but also sceptical.
"I know you used to have a negative view on them, but the fact you are a Deku fan shows how well you understand what heroes must be."
What was up with that girl? Kota had sent her all signals of wanting to keep a distance and even being rude to her, but when he was in trouble she would always come to help him and show true care. Yeah, she was definitely close to Izuku Midoriya.
"Thanks... for your help" Kota reluctantly uttered. "But I want you to keep the keychain."
That warmed Eri's soul. If only Kota wasn't so stubborn and showed his true self more often.
"Fine... I'll accept it... if you promise next time you simply will ignore anyone who talks wrong about me and avoid confrontations with those meanies. Deal?"
Kota wasn't very happy with being forced to make promises, but he wanted to put an end to their talk.
"Okay. I promise."
"Well! That should do it!" Eri happily announced before planting a kiss on Kota's now disinfected and healed cut on his eyebrow. That was not at all on the now Kota's skript, who was now steaming like a teapot.
"ERI, KOTA!" Inko Midoriya's voice was heard from downstairs. "I just made cookies! Come down!"
"Coming, Inko!" Eri enthusiastically answered, as she took Kota by the hand. The boy still felt like his brain and heart had gone to another dimension. "Let's go, Kota! We'll eat them while we watch a movie!"
Kota was too dizzy and disoriented to argue. The only coherent question he came to internally make was why Eri had bothered to bring him to her room and clean his injury herself instead of using her Rewind Quirk, which would have taken her far less time.

July 10th, 17:15.
The Man's island; the centre.
The improvised team had had no choice but use the option of the I-Expo's jet-submarine to divide itself into two smaller independent halves to disorient their enemies: All Might and Mirio went on one direction, and Melissa and Kota, on another, but they had located the lab and would all meet at some point as soon as Mirio found Eri and David... if nothing more went wrong, and that was a high possibility.
At that moment, All Might was fulfilling his part of the plan: manipulate the wires of that tower in the middle of the jungle. If Melissa was right, that would deactivate what they were interested in.
"All Might! I know where Eri is! And I've contacted with the group! Deactivate it and I'll proceed" Mirio reported through the communicator.
"Right! I'll be done in a minute!" All Might responded. However, he was sweating and unsure about his next move.
"Argh. Was it the red wire or the yellow one?" it was frustrating; UA's teachers made sure today's heroes had advanced technology knowledges and that net of wires could make it to a final exam perfectly. "Dammit, I am a teacher. I'm supposed to correct exams, not do them."
Then he remembered: it was the green one. Relieved, he cut it. Then...
"Hands up! And turn back slowly!"
All Might cursed his luck and did as the henchmen that pointed at him said.
"Any last words, señor?"
All Might looked up and he actually found something to say:
"Yes! Ever seen Rise of the Planet of the Apes?"
"Huh?"
"No? Well, in that case..."
"SPOILER ALERT!!" they only had time to hear as a fast balancing figure encircled them with tape and an army of angry monkeys fell over them under another hero's command. Sero and Koda had showed off and they were unquestionably a great tandem in a jungle.
"That's it, Mirio!" All Might reported him in a hurry. "Go save her!"
Meanwhile, at the lab next to the lake...
Supervillains' lairs in an island in the middle of nowhere were no stranger to pop culture, and David Shield had seen labs of all shapes and sizes. However, there was something about that one that captured his attention.
The big metallic structure before him, supported on tall steel pillars, must hold the space of a football stadium. A common person may look at it and fantasize about those science fiction movies where some madman tries to play God with time and space, and the heroes have no choice but to face dangerous menaces from alternative dimensions. That was never a field Shield was very interested in, so in his eyes it remained exactly as that, just fantasy. However, he couldn't help but remember those last months decoding the file All Might had trusted him. The Quirk known as One For All and the way it seemed to connect its deceased past users... was a real challenge to understand, even in a world full of Quirks.
"Isn't it marvellous?"
Shield looked at the scientist with a moustache with a mix of disbelief and distrust. That old man was once a respected figure in the world of medicine and Quirks until his strings with All For One himself came out to the light.
"More like a waste of space to me" he shrugged.
"Professor Shield" Dr Garaki adjusted his glasses. "Your reputation preceeds you. It's impossible you aren't aware of what you have before your eyes."
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I was abducted to share my investigations on All Might's Quirk" Shield wasn't a Pro Hero, but he was once a sidekick of the greatest of all time and he would show no fear. "And I don't know of what use can I be for you after I deleted the file I was supposed to give to him last week."
"I know this is not the best situation to meet each other, and this might surprise you, but I have nothing but respect for your work" the composed Dr Garaki seemed fascinated, as he guided Shield, who was pushed by the Nomus, to an elevator that brought them a few floors above, to end in a different and smaller room at the end of a walkway. The room looked more like an office with a huge glass window that let a sight of the bottom of the lake next to the volcano's base.
"Despite you have dedicated all your talent and efforts to help All Might and other many heroes, your contribution to the future is unmatched. From one man of science to another."
"You've dedicated your life work to help the worst of villains bring the terror to the world" Shield spitted in disgust. He would gladly fight the villain in front of him if there weren't Nomus and henchmen everywhere. "What kind of man of science does that?"
"You offend me, Professor" obviously Garaki wouldn't be bothered by a common person's morals. "My life work is in the name of the new world order."
"An order where once influential people like you make deals with mobs and create abominations like those to terrify the people? Your actions lead to nothing that could be considered a future!"
Instead of answering, Garaki raised his sight so he could see the masked face of the huge person who had appeared behind Shield. The Professor turned and walked down as a reflex. For someone so big and muscular, he moved quite fast and silently.
"Allow me to introduce our host to you, Professor" Garaki calmly said. "In his days as a wrestler he was known as Blazor, the fighter who steals the heat. Today he's known as The Man. You might have heard of him."
The Man was intimidating enough by himself, but for some reason that day his eyes were shinning with anger. It was enough to make anyone's blood freeze.
"I... have" Shield tried to stay calmed. "According to some reporters, he is interested in my technology too..."
"This is true" a third voice corroborated.
Shield didn't know about the rest, but he hadn't sense Shigaraki's presence until that moment. Whether it was because one of his now multiple Quirks or not, that young villain had become a really intimidating figure. It was rare to see the leader of the League of Villains use his power publically, but everyone remembered that black episode when the true power of his Decay was showed to the world and decens of heroes, like Midnight, were gone forever.
"He has given good use to some of your inventions in his business, and as far as I know, he has big plans for the future. To make it short, our deal consisted of him helping us back in UA to get the girl, the file and yourself, Professor... Unfortunately, like you hightlighted, we couldn't get the file from you, so his part of the deal hasn't been fulfilled yet."
"Wrong" The Man growled, surprising the two scientists. "I met some of our visitors before coming here. I offered them to peacefully leave the islands, but they chose poorly and decided to stay for you, Professor."
"So the heroes have located us?" David joyfully asked. "If you really know the Post All Might generation, you should be able to see how much in trouble you are."
"I am actually relieved they declined my offer. Bring her!" The Man ordered to some henchmen behind a corner in the distance. When Shield saw the blonde haired girl approaching, scorted by two henchmen, he felt like something had hit him on the top of his head and he was about to faint.
"DAD! Thank goodness, you are fine!!" Melissa cried before running to hug her father.
"Melissa... what are you doing here?" Shield allowed himslef to hug her daughter back despite the situation he had still to assimilate. "Please don't tell me this doesn't mean what I think it is..." he sternly said to her when he repaired Melissa was wearing that damned I-Expo's costume.
"No! It's not like that!" Melissa cried. "I mean, this wasn't planned!"
"She went to the sea meeting where the heroes returned Himiko Toga, along with All Might and Lemillion..." Shigaraki started to explain.
"There you broke the truce and attacked us!" Melissa angrily blamed. "And someone died!"
"Our target was the Yakuza boss. Once the members of the League escaped Hawks and the others should submit the militars and Nomus with not too much difficulty. But the militars weren't expecting extra people at the meeting, so it is understandable you were targetted and chased until your damaged jet reached Hawaii" Shigaraki kept telling. His mind seemed to prefer to be somewhere else.
"And I couldn't be happier now the old man is here to see what I've become and what fate awaits his students..."
"We didn't have a choice, Dad. On that estate, we would never have made it to Japan..."
"Wait a minute: All Might is also here?" Shield wasn't done with terrible news, apparently.
"My men went after them once they reached their jet... which turned into a submarine and gave us some difficulties when they arrived to this island" The Man wouldn't talk very much as a general rule, but that day was going to be different for many reasons.
"I presumed you separated and went on different ways to find the prisoners and distract us. We haven't found trace of Lemillion and All Might yet, but reports say there was a fourth member in your team..." Garaki was more interested on that. "A young boy, more or less of Eri's age..."
"Wearing a silly Deku costume..." Shigaraki didn't know if he should cringe or get annoyed.
"I know you want to rescue Eri as soon as possible, Kota" Melissa thought. "But we must trust each other now and hope the heroes are each time closer, so please, stick to the plan..."
"I know you won't tell us where the kid is, Miss Shield, so let's not waste our time and get started with the important: give me the file, if you are so kind" Shigaraki asked, full serious.
"The file?" David Shield chuckled for the first time since he was captured. "I don't want to flatter myself as a father, but Melissa is already one of the brightest minds of her generation and the future face of her generation..."
"Daddy..." Melissa contained her blush at her father's pride.
"... so what makes you think she would take the dumb decision of bringing such an important thing all the way here?" that last question felt like a cube of icy water over Melissa.
"Miss Shield... may I check your watch, please?" Shigaraki ignored the father and asked his daughter. The heroes must be near and he didn't have all day.
The Man raised Melissa's left arm and exposed the red watch she wore around her wrist, much to the girl's embarrassment.
"Honey... please, tell me you didn't bring it..." Shield asked slowly as his emotions reagrupated and discussed which one should get out first.
"Dad... huh... there is an explanation for..." she babbled.
"Let me get this straight, Melissa..." she hadn't seen his father so pissed since high school. "I get captured because of a file that must not fall into the League's hands, I miraculously delete it at the last second, and then you fly all the way to Hawaii to play the hero (again), bring that very same content to the villains' lair and get captured?"
"I was helping Uncle All Might and the rest in Japan! In fact, I'm the one who managed to track and locate you! I didn't plan to come here, and it's not like I didn't want to...!" Melissa replied with her cheeks enlightened.
"Oh, true, All Might came too!" Shield felt so frustrated he was hardly afraid anymore. "What on Earth were you thinking?"
"We came to save you!!" Melissa was getting altered too.
"Oh that's great. Now all we need is someone comes to save YOU..." Shield ironized in defeat.
"I've had enough" Shigaraki made a signal and some Nomus approached, putting an end to any willing to argue with their unnerving presence. "We are all busy people here, so please Miss, go ahead and show us the content of that file using that computer."
"Trust me, Dad. I have a plan. Just don't fail me, guys..." Melissa thought as she addressed the computer. She took the pendrive out of her watch and inserted it, nervous as she was. She couldn't buy more time.

Meanwhile, some levels below...
Shinsho had been trained to handle his scarf by Eraser himself, Mashirao was unargueably among the heroes with the best technical fighting skills, and they had unexpectedly connected fast and efficiently as a team that were able to take a generous numbers of opponents.
That is, until they were surrounded by members of The Man's gang. They all shared the same uniform with the red mask logo, but as soon as they revealed their Quirks, the fearsome variety those wrestlers had to offer was served.
The newer ones, the subordinates, weren't a big deal, since their recently acquire Quirks were kind of average and already been faced by any hero (fireballs, bullets, extensive limbs, poison spitting...), but that became a problem once outnumbered. And the veteran in charge's Barbed Wire Quirk enabled him to produce undetermined metres of this material through his limbs. This he could use to cover his armored uniform and mask entirely, turning him into an equally defensive and offensive walking weapon, or in this case, to extend its wires and immobilize his opponents like Sero with his Tape, only hurting them in process due to the spikes.
"Mashirao... I don't want to sound negative..." Shinsho managed to utter in the middle of his pain to his equally hurt and immobilized partner. That was really more painful that being caught by his scarf. "... but we need an idea..."
"You've gone far enough, heroes" the leader of the group said. "Now you will..."
"Excuse me, sir" a blue eyed and smiled face appeared on the wall like magic. "Is there room for another player?"
As expected, when Mirio entered through the wall, all the criminals shot at him whatever their Quirks allowed, including those barbed wires. And as expected, they came through Mirio's body like it was mist.
"Now seriously" Mirio annouced. "Release my partners and none will get hurt..."
Mirio didn't have time to cover himself when what seemed like a gray cloud of gas crashed against him before he could activate his Quirk again, getting some injuries by that skull masked henchman's metal claws and tossed away from the Barbed Wire user, who attacked him when he hit the floor. The caped hero could avoid the wires without much difficulty and the effects of the other Quirks, but that gas turning skull face dude was fast and could become intangible, and was making him impossible to advance.
"He's all yours, Penumbra! Time to finish them!"
"You said it right."
The Nomus and henchmen turned to see some green lighting in the dark... and later two more young heroes illuminated by the fire in the left arm of one of them.
In less than a second, Deku run all over the wide room charging against any Nomu or man who stood on his way to the one holding his friends. The leader of the group was forced to lose some grip to defend himself from Deku's Black Whip, which turned into a complex dance of barbed wires moving like snakes against the black matter hits the just arrived boy was delivering against him in Castlevania resemblance. Mashirao and Shinsho took the opportunity to deliver knock out hits over other henchman using tail and scarf respectively. When Todoroki used his flames to fuse the wires that imprisoned them, they were able to properly rejoin the fight. The Barbed Wire user covered his face by his metal wires in a last desperate attempt to protect himself, but it was useless against a perfectly executed Delaware Smash. Mirio was then free to face the skull faced one on one, but their Quirks would be too balanced in that situation and would need some help to break it. The help came in the form of Todoroki's ice when it was used to pursue Penumbra all over the room until it caught some of the gas turning that piece into a frozen human feet. A karate kick out of nowhere by Mashirao was then enough to bring him down for good.
The biggest of the Nomus happened to be able to turn all his body into a monstrous giant mouth full of sharp teeth that would swallow and dismember anyone who was caught inside, but Shinsho covered his head and blinded it with his scarf. When the mouth was fully opened Todoroki used all his left to reduce the creature to ashes from a short distance.
"Mashirao! Shinsho!" Deku cried when the last of the Nomus was brought down. They were all euphoric to see their friends were alive. "You're okay!!"
Mirio wasn't less happy for meeting them all again, but there was no time for celebrations.
"Lemillion! What are you doing here? I thought..."
They exchanged explanations as briefly as they could. From their most recent communications, Kirishima and Bakugou had made his way to the centre of the island; the first had received a call from the girls and was going to help them, while the former, following his usual self, was going down to have his rematch against The Man. Koda and Sero had met All Might at the jungle after cleaning the area. As for the group of Uraraka, Toru and Mina...
"When they arrived at the underground entrance, they had to separate to escape the Nomus. That was the last time they reported" Todoroki gave a concerned look at Deku. As much as a self controlled he was, the green haired hero wasn't good at hiding his emotions, let alone the worry about his bride.
"What do you want to do?" surprisingly, it was his superior in the agency who formulated the question to him.
"Togata... I... no, we must..."
"I may be your boss in the agency, Deku, but we are not in the agency. And we aren't in Tokyo either" Mirio exposed calmly. "This mission was encomended to you, not me. You are the man in charge."
"Mayor Nezu, Principal Aizawa and All Might knew we were acting against the rules this time" Todoroki stepped forward with a solemn gesture. "They accepted to assume all the risks because they trust us, but mainly because of you, Midoriya."
"What is this all about?" Deku was failing to think clearly. "We have found Mashirao and Shinsho, and the Shields are near, but now we know that All Might and Kota are out there in danger too!" he desperately tried to contact Uraraka or any of the girls, but whatever they were doing at that moment, they wouldn't answer. His frustration increased. "What are you looking at? We need a plan! Make a decision about what to do!"
"Yes, we need a plan" this time it was Shinsho who talked. "But first it is you who need to make a decision."
"If you want to go find Uraraka first, nobody will blame you" Todoroki continued. "But take this into account: the greatest hero ever lived chose you to guide civilians and heroes alike. Like you, I also have the biggest shoes to fill, and will always be your rival and friend alike, but you are the one who was raised by All Might for this moment."
"Sir Nighteye knew All Might like few, and he said that the true reason so many people believed in him is because he always found a way to believe in the people first. Even back when he was a regular guy, in whom nobody thought about. Like you did, even in those who might be mean to you at some moment" that was a lesson Mirio still had to share with his younger friend. "Like you always do."
"You have supported and helped to improve numerous heroes in your way. Including us" Mashirao spoke with conviction. "You are already an icon for this generation. We wouldn't be here without you."
"Guys, stop it... I owe you all a lot. None of us would be here if we hadn't learn to support and help each other..."
"True. Today we are popular heroes" Todoroki nodded. "And I'm telling you, I'm not done with competing with you. But as much as I hate it (and let't not talk about Bakugou), it's time to face the facts: today it is you who people want to see on the top. And today is not the day I surpass you. I have familiar issues to solve..."
Deku almost had forgotten. With his father out of service and his villanous brother in the island Todoroki had extra reasons to be there. Endeavor's career had never been the same after the true identity of Dabi came to the light, and now more than ever, the current not so popular Hero Number One needed a replacement. However, now, before thinking of anything else, his youngest son had the opportunity to help save the day, bring his lost brother back home, free himself his family from the burden of its dark past, and share a new shinning future with Momo.
"We all have loved ones to be worried about, whether it is here or at home" Mirio hadn't forgotten about Nejire and Tamaki. "But this is how thing are for heroes. This is what we are and what we do."
"I am also worried, yes, specially about Toru. But I trust her and the rest. Uraraka trusts you and always has" Mashirao said. "That's another reason for how far you've gone, both as professionals and couple.
"Listen to them, Midoriya" Kirishima spoke through the transmisor after a loud hit that can only be identified as one of his hardened hits. "Gallantry and chivalry are not everything that define heroes. We must also be wise enough to identify the hero that exists for the moment. I also want to go help my woman with whatever she's dealing now, but we move as a team, and the leader must say the last word. Plus, I pity the fool who dares to face Mina today; she's been kind of mad after one of her besties' wedding was suspended and couldn't compete for the bouquet..."
"I hate to admit it (and let's not talk about Bakugou), but today, here, and now... you must guide us. You are the only one who can do it... Deku" Todoroki concluded.
Deku would need a moment and a deep breath absorbed the torrent of feelings that was envolving. Heroes and friends, they were all there for the win. Some may have more specific motivations than others, but similar to his bond with All Might and One For All, they were connected by something stronger than blood.
"All Might and his precessors gave me a great power. And Uravity gave me a great name. Today I'm honoring both."
"You're right. Come on, I've made us lose enough time" Deku's mind, heart and soul were back in sintony. His friends and millions of people, including his forever idol and mentor were trusting him at that moment. What kind of hero would he be if he wasn't capable of trusting his future wife?
His brain worked fast enough: Kirishima would go help the girls and report as soon as he could; Todoroki would find Bakugou and this time work with him to defeat the man, even if he went mad for it, and then he would look for Dabi, and take that matter on his own hands, like he insisted. The rest would follow take care of taking Eri and the Shields out of the volcano. And finally...
"That's too much, Midoriya" Shinsho disagreed with the last part. "You may have multiple powers too, but... how could we leave you face Shigaraki alone?"
"Remember: the prisoners come first. Much like All For One, we don't have all the information about his Quirks, but I have dedicated almost a whole notebook to what I have learned" Deku said pointing his head. "I'll contain him long enough so you can save them all. From that moment on... we can only improvise."
"We also had some issues together" Deku thought. They may not be familiar, like Todoroki's, but it wasn't that far from that.
"What about that giant facility I saw before?" Mirio was intrigued. He didn't know a lot about science, but when some evil scientist refers looks at a thing like that with ambition and fascination, that was never a good sign.
"Judging by the definition you gave before, I have a theory" Deku confessed. He hadn't told them about the things he had known from the OFA users' journal Melissa had decoded and shared with him days ago, but now he could only hope this theory was as crazy as it looked like and wasn't possible. "Anyway, it has nothing to do with the civilians, so whatever it is, we'll deal with that later if necessary. Is everyone ready?"
After giving a loud positive answer, joining fists and crying the school's Plus Ultra, they all started to move with an aura of determination, each one knowing what to do."
"Hey, wait a minute..." Mashirao suddenly said, snapping the rest out of it for a second. "Does anyone have news about Mineta?"
Oh, that was true. Why on Earth none had realised he was missing until now?
"Red Riot? What happened to him?"
"Oh, right..." a little embarrassed Kirishima answered. "We were attacked with high technology long distance weapons before and due to his size we thought he would be able to drag through the air duct and reach them to deactivate them all. He hasn't reported yet."
A momentanous silence was made in the group until Kirishima spoke again.
"Well, we said we trusted each other, right?"
"Absolutely!"
"Yeah, we must keep moving..."
"Okay, guys, now seriously..." Deku rolled his eyes.
"Come on, he should be fine. He wouldn't let himself get killed knowing he is surrounded by beaches full of girls."
"I guess you are right..." Deku had no choice but to cringe a bit. "Better or worse, motivations is what keeps us alive..."
Enough with the planification. It was time to pass to action. If Shigaraki wanted to see what he and his friend had to offer to deserve to be called heroes, they were going to deliver that in spades.
End of chapter 38.
