Part 5: Dancing by the Book

Huey's POV

Once we got home, I got my eyes out of the guidebook and started walking up to my room. Uncle Donald always said that it's dangerous to walk and read a book at the same time, especially if it's across the street. Normally, I'd disagree with such a statement, but I've seen people who do it get into highly lethal situations, such as getting run over by a car or falling into an open manhole, and I don't want to take any risks.

Anyway, once I got there, I put a bookmark into the guidebook, laid it onto my bed, put my backpack next to my project desk, and got started on my homework, which really didn't take that long. Once that was done, I went back to the Dance section of the guidebook and decided to try the Lindy Basic. I started moving my body according to the dance instructions in the book, and I don't mean to brag, but I was actually doing pretty well. That is, until I tripped on a red elephant doll (which I definitely borrowed from a friend, so don't even get started on that!) and crashed into the closet.

Dewey's POV

I was in my room practicing my dance moves for the Duckberg Dance Festival, but then...

  "Whoa!"

  Wham!

"Huh?!" I turned off my practice music and headed to Huey's room. Huey was getting back up from the floor with a bruise on his forehead the size of a grapefruit.

"Whoa, Huey," I was pretty surprised, "what happened here?"

"I was trying to do a Lindy Classic," Huey blushed and answered sheepishly, "and I guess I was too busy looking at the instructions."

"Gee, looks like you had one heck of a crash course." Haha, that was funny.

Huey's POV

Dewey helped me up, and I bent down (at the knees, of course) to pick up my Junior Woodchuck Guidebook. Of course, the bookmark fell out, and I lost my place, so I flipped through the pages until I got back to the dance moves. Dewey noticed this and asked, "Have you been using that to learn how to dance?"

"Yeah," I responded, and Dewey said, "No wonder you fell over. That is definitely not the right way to learn how to dance. Now you wanna learn to dance, don't you?"

"Oh course I do," I promptly answered, and then Dewey said, "Then maybe I could show you."

Also, Dewey, I didn't think that "crash course" joke was funny.

Dewey's POV

Figures someone like you would say that.
