Chapter 13

Treyton was shocked, to say the least.

Had he just heard it right? The elusive Erisha was asking him out!
He swiveled around to look at her, and was surprised to see her look down and shift from one foot to another, as if unsure of her request.
What even..
'What? Did I hear it wrong?'
Her head went back, and their eyes met.
'Did you just ask me out?'
His tone registered the surprise he felt.

'Yes!'
She straightened up, and didn't look away this time.
'I did..but I don't know why..I usually don't..I mean, I'm not the type to..'

'Okay..'

'I understand if you are busy..what?'
She stopped as she realised what he had said.

'I said okay! I'll go out with you..'

'You will?'
She almost squeaked, then cleared her throat.
'I mean..do you..'

'I do!'
His expression had changed to one of amusement, all the anger draining away.
'I've never been asked out on a date before..what?'
He asked, as she scoffed.
'You don't believe me?'
He shifted a bit closer, partly because people were walking past them, around them, and partly because he wanted to get close to her.

'I'm sorry if I don't..actually..I mean, the great Treyton Elrod..'

'Always does the asking..'
He nodded, as she shook her head.

'Oh..'
Her mouth opened in an 'O' shape.
'Okay..'

'So, yes..I will go out with you..where would you like to go? I could book a..'

'NO!'
She saw him give her a stare, and she began again.
'Actually, no restaurant..'

'Then? Where? Your place?'
He raised an eyebrow, and a sudden blush took over her cheeks, as she remembered him in her apartment, and what had happened there.

'It's..could you just come over..I'll meet you there..'

'O...kay!'
Treyton dragged the word, wondering what she was thinking.
'I'll be there..sevenish?'
She nodded.
'Alright, I have to go back to work..'

'Yeah, sure! So do I..'
She moved backwards, talking as she did.
'I'll see you then..'
She turned around, and so did he, to go back the way he had come.
Erisha slapped her forehead, and turned back around.
'Treyton!'
She called out, so that he turned back to her.
'Bring your bike!'

He raised an eyebrow at that, but just nodded, before turning around and leaving.
And soon, he was lost among the crowd, as Erisha stood their watching.
Now why did I ask him to do that?
Well..what's done is done..I just hope I don't regret this..

***************************

Treyton was nothing if not amused by her asking him out, especially the way she had.
But he hadn't been able to resist.
So much for my resolution to stay away from her..what happened?
It all seemed like a joke now.
She had asked him out!
And he was more than willing to go..
You, Treyton Elrod, have lost it!

Treyton had been surprised that she had asked him to bring his bike.
How did she know I own one?
Well, it wasn't exactly a secret..whatever..

Treyton maneuvered his Harley through the evening traffic, and reached her place on time. He did feel a sense of deja vù, as he swung his legs off of his bike, took off his helmet and strode towards the entrance.
He waited for her to let him up, but again there was no answer.
Instead, he heard the sound of another power machine, and he turned to look.
Sure enough, another Harley-Davidson came out from a side street, and joined his.
The rider wore a helmet, and was dressed similarly like him, in stonewashed jeans, and leather jacket.
It clicked immediately, and he knew it was Erisha.
As he watched, she took off her helmet, and her ponytailed hair swung in the air.

Erisha was a bit surprised, that he didn't look surprised, but she held her head high.
'Hi!'
She would think about that later, when she was alone.

'Hello! I brought my bike as you asked me to, so why this?'
He gestured to her machine, which was still running.

'I thought we'd go for a ride..'

'Yeah! So come..'
He walked back towards her.
'We just need one..'

'Well..how about we do it my way? Or do you have a problem with that?'
She raised her eyebrows, waiting for him to defy her.

Treyton was silent for a few seconds, before spoke.
'You did ask me out! Since that's a first for me, so why not this? It's your call..'
Erisha was again surprised, her mouth opening into an O.

He moved towards her, and she couldn't help but look. He looked gorgeous in jeans, and a black leather jacket, opened to reveal a white t-shirt inside. The way he was watching her as he came to stand next to her, had her heart race. And when he leaned over her sitting form, she shifted slightly backwards.

Treyton noticed, and gave an inward smile, before leaning further. When she shifted more, he gave her half a grin, before whispering near her ear.
'Surprise me, then! I'm all yours!'
The words sent a tingle down her spine, and their eyes locked.
But before she could react at all, he had suddenly moved back, and swung his legs over his powerful machine, and put on his helmet.
Starting his bike, he looked at her, and saw her quickly look away, on the pretext of donning on her helmet.
'Lead the way!'

Erisha revved her bike and they were on their way.

***************************

This date was anything but what he had expected.

Erisha had suggested a ride across the highway, and Treyton had been all for it.
They had started it as a normal ride, but it had become a race for who was faster.
Erisha knew she was good, but it turned out, that Treyton was better.
As Erisha had turned the bend, to where they had decided to race till, she had seen him there already, standing next to his Harley, helmet in hand.
She had decreased her speed, and stopped her machine, to see him grinning at her.

'You are good!'
It had been a normal compliment, and one she had received several times before.
But the way he had said it, had made her feel warm, all the way inside.

Treyton had raced with some of his biker friends before, but racing with Erisha, had been an experience he would never forget. It had set his adrenalin pumping, and he had enjoyed every second of it. She had been tough competition, her moves, as fluid as his.
When Erisha had come round the bend, after he had suddenly maneuvered past her, he couldn't help but feel elated.

'So were you! I've hardly ever lost to anyone!'
She had gotten off, too.

The highway traffic had not been heavy, and they had been practically alone out there.

'Well..you never raced Treyton Elrod before..'
His voice had trailed off, as he had remembered the night he had seen her by the bridge after she had raced him, unknowingly.

But Erisha had just shrugged.
'I guess..'

'So, since I won..how about it?'
Treyton had raised his eyebrows.

'How about what?'
Erisha had looked puzzled.

'A victory kiss!'

Erisha had been stunned at that.
'What?'

'What what? I won, and I demand a victory kiss!'
Treyton had seen her flush, as he had watched her closely.
The skinny jeans hugged her legs and waist, as did the short red top she wore under the jacket, making her look demure and sexy at once.

'Demand?'
She had raised her head high.
'I don't take to demands very well..'
Her defiant balloon had popped, as he had caught her arm, and pulled her close, so that their bodies had been touching.
Instead of getting annoyed, a tingle had run down her spine.

'Alright, then..'
His hands had framed her face, his green eyes glinting in the street lights, as he had looked into hers.
'No demands..just a plain request..'

His voice had become husky, and she had been lost, unable to take her eyes off of his face, as his gaze had shifted to her lips, which had parted of their own volition.
He had taken forever to dip his head lower, so much, that she had been tempted to just pull him towards herself.
But finally his lips had touched hers, and they had both closed their eyes, as if the sensation brought peace.
But the moment their lips had locked, it had been as if a forest fire had erupted..it had raged between them.
Treyton had pulled her closer, his arms coming around her waist, and hers had closed around his neck, as they had fed the fire, tangling their tongues. They had stood there kissing, for what seemed like ages, when in fact it could only have been a couple of minutes.
The sound of a fog horn had  penetrated through their haze, bringing them back to the present, as a truck had whizzed past.

'If this is how you request..'
Erisha had muttered without thinking, and he had heard, his head going back in laughter.
Erisha had flushed, but at the same time, been stunned at the sight, because she had never seen him laugh whole heartedly before, and he looked so good, carefree almost.
'Laughter suits you..'
She said after the laughter had died down.
But apparently that hadn't been a wise thing to say, because he had suddenly become serious, a closed look coming over his face.

Treyton had looked around, at the increasing traffic, and had headed to his bike.
'You must be hungry..let's go and grab something to eat.'

Erisha had stood watching him, till he had turned back to look at her, quizzically.
She had quickly seated herself, and they had been on their way.

If someone had told her Treyton Elrod could behave like an ordinary man, she would never have believed them.
But prove her wrong, he did.

Knowing he had expensive tastes, she hesitantly asked if he would mind if they didn't go to a restaurant, as they reached the city centre once again.

'What did you have in mind, then?'
Treyton looked at her through the open visor of his helmet.

'Well..there's this great place near my shop. Würstelstand Leo..'
Her voice trailed off, as she saw a look of some suppressed emotion cross his face, but, before she could ask, he just nodded.

'Sure!'
He started his bike again, and Erisha quickly followed.

Treyton reached the hotdog stand with Erisha right behind him. They parked their bikes, before walking to the stand together.
Having decided their orders, they both handed over the money at the counter, at the same time.
Treyton looked at Erisha, shaking his head.

'This was my idea, so I pay!'
Erisha tried to move past him.

'I've never let a woman pay on a date, and I'm not about to start now!'

'Treyton, I..'

The man behind the counter looked from one to the other.
'Du hältst die Linie aufrecht! You are holding up the line!'

Treyton took hold of Erisha's shoulders, and put her aside, like an object, making her huff, while he paid for their food.

'I told you, I will..'
She stopped, as Treyton gave her one more glare, before moving to the next counter to get their food.
Sighing, she went and stood by their bikes, folding her arms across her chest, feeling snubbed.
Let him bring it by himself, too!

'Here!'
Treyton came back, carrying two brown paper bags.
'You want to eat here, or we can walk up to that park, and sit there..'
Treyton indicated a small park, which could be seen across from the stand.

'I guess..'
And she began walking towards it, leaving behind an amused Treyton to follow her.

'I didn't know you would get upset over a few Euros..'
Treyton said, once they had found a bench, and he had spread out their food in between them.
He had seen her look miffed.

'It's not about the Euros..'

'Then? About me buying it for you?'
He opened the wrapper of his hotdog, and inhaled.

'No, I..'
Erisha halted, surprised, as she saw him take a bite, and chew it, making 'mmm' sounds.

'It's been ages, since I had one of these! They still taste just as great!'
He savoured each bite of the frankfurter.
He looked up mid bite, to see Erisha's mouth agape.
'What? You didn't think I'd have ever bent so low, as to have street food like an average person?'

Erisha blinked, as that had been exactly what she had thought.
'I..I don't..'

'It's okay! But I wasn't always a rich, money making machine..'
He saw her flush, even in the dim lights around them, in reaction to what he knew was her opinion of him.

'I..'

'Why aren't you eating? Am I that good-looking, that you can't keep your eyes off me?'
He teased, and this time she blushed, hurriedly looking away to pick her meal.
Treyton gave a small smile as she quickly took a bite of her food.

'So, Erisha..tell me..'
Treyton began, as she picked up the soda glass, which he had brought with her meal.
'Why did you really ask me out tonight?'

Erisha almost sputtered out her drink, at his lazily asked question.
How does he..no, no! He can't know..can he?
'I..uh..you took me to dinner  the last time, so I thought I'd return the favour..that's all..'
She shrugged nonchalantly, although her heartbeat had started to escalate.

'Hmm..'
Treyton nodded, picking up his beer can, and taking a swig.

Erisha watched him, wondering what was going through his head.
She lowered her eyes, as his head shifted her way, on the pretext of taking a sip of her drink.
But her eyes shot up, at his next words.

'Can we stop playing games, now? I know exactly why you and I are here...'

To be continued...
