A single father's mishaps
"Mom, Dad," Issei greeted his parents. "Draco, Kurikara. Elpis, Secundus, Aegis, and Mei. I have a date this Sunday,"
"That's nice, son," Gorou said as he kept his eyes on his newspaper while his wife lowered some of the foods she and Mei cooked.
"A date, huh?" Mei whispered, thinking over his words. "With who?"
"Wait, Mei-chan! You're not mad at Issei?" Miki asked, looking at the Dragonlord of Storms. She has seen how close they were and thought they were dating already.
"No, while Issei and I are close friends, we are not together like that," Mei said with a smile. A smile that hid a lot from all except Kurikara and the Elemental spirits. Wisely, the little dragons kept quiet, knowing the volatile and disciplined structure of the Dragonlord of Storms.
"We're just used to skinship," Issei said with a shrug. "It's a fallen angel,"
Hearing this, Mei turned to her fellow Dragonlord.
"Probably sent to kill me or something," Issei revealed with a shrug as he finished his cup of coffee, alarming his parents.
"Do you have enemies here?" Mei asked, looking at one of her party members.
"None that I know of," The dragonlord of Doom said with a shrug. "But I might have made some,"
"Well, do you think they're the same level as Jaania's huntresses or Akanthus' hired assassins?"
"Nah, but I do need to make some Golems to protect the house."
"Issei, Dear! You're going on a date with an assassin!" Miki said to her son.
"Yeah, son! You shouldn't,"
"I'll be fine," Issei said with a smile. "It's not the first assassin I fought off... that's not human, anyway,"
"Zorbak?" Mei asked, remembering a certain blue furry puffball.
"Valrith, Caitiff, Akanthus' faction of the Rose, some of Drakath's bandits, Xan's minions, the heroes Konan brainwashed. The usual,"
"Oh, you'll be fine," Mei said as she lowered the plates on the table. "Besides, you're well-rested here and your mental state is better. Far better,"
"I hate that fucking squid," Issei whispered, remembering the extraterrestrial entity that lived deep in the Oceans of Lore. An entity he once fought that almost brainwashed him to be an Eldritch entity of tentacles. 'I'd rather grab Oppai with my hands than tentacles.'
Growls of anger and clouds of smoke exited the Dragon of Doom's nostrils at the reminder of the battle that happened. It was a two-pronged war between him and his human and that thing. Psychic attacks to the mind while it used psionics and its tentacles to batter their physical bodies.
The reason why it hated that thing was not because of what it did to the sea elves nor what it did to damage him during the fight... but what it made his human do.
"Draco, you okay?" The voice of his human stopped the green dragon from his thoughts.
Growls of assurance and a gentle bellyflop on his head.
"Yeah, buddy. Me too," Issei replied, sensing the emotions deep inside his dragon. "Besides, it's not like that fallen angel can put me out of commission," Issei revealed, making both of his parents look at a frowning Mei.
"Issei..."
"I know, Mei-mei," Issei said with a grin. "Besides, I always wondered what a Fallen angel as a Necromantic puppet would be like," For a split-second, his eyes flickered between green, blue, and red.
"No, necromancy," Mei scolded, remembering the brief phase of Necromancy fell under. While he only mastered the basics of the art, he fully dove into it after the Calamity to help purify the souls of those afflicted by doom. During that month, he fell deeper into the Dark arts and almost tried to raise the Undead Dragon with a castle on its back and he almost succeeded.
Only to stop once he and his dragon collapsed due to eating the food Kiana made for him. A food powerful enough to stop the Dragon of Doom and the greatest Dragonlord in history in their tracks even in his condition. All because they could not say to the antics of their friend and fellow Dragonlord.
"Fine, but you have to keep me away from the idiot," Issei said with a shrug. Kiana Kaslana, a member of their group shared the same brain cell most of the time. She was smart in topics that she was focused on but on others... not so much. Not only that, she is a Paladin Highlord and a Master ranger of the dunes of Sandsea and the Void.
"Ise.. you know how easily Kiana-chan can track you, right?"
"Yeah... I know," Holloween trick or treats... hide and seek... training. The idiot could track him as long as he was not completely serious. "I will meet with her this Sunday. I want to take care of these Necromancers first," Issei whispered. While he could make his batch of undead creatures whenever he wanted, he did not like doing so since most Necromancers used the souls of the dead to control their bodies while he only used their bodies at most like puppets on a string with some occasional soul manipulation here and there if needed.
He preferred using Golems or willing souls due to his connection with Aegis and the ability to see souls.
"Son, I don't know what you're working on but be careful," Gorou said with a sigh. He knew his son was doing a lot of things but he was just an ordinary salaryman. "I will always be proud of you,"
"We will always have your back," Hearing this, the Dragonlord of Doom bit back his emotions using his mastery of soul magic. Yet.. he could not stop the warmth that made his undead heart beat with life as his control of the Necrotic curse in his body loosened a bit.
Keeping quiet at the moment, the Dragonlord of Storms gently rubbed Kurikara's scales. Unlike her and Kiana... Issei often went out for days and weeks on end fighting. His adventures often made theirs pale in comparison, from the depths of the oceans to the land of the rulers of the world of Lore.

"Hey, Bella," Issei greeted the child with golden-white hair in front of him looking like seven years old.
"ISSEI!" squealed the child as she launched herself with all her might, turning into a missile of white and gold, and crashed with the young man.
Unbothered by this, the Dragonlord of Doom caught the child and gently returned the hug she gave him.
Wrapping his arms to support her, the young Dragonlord looked at the Dragon-turned-human in his arms.
"Figures," Hearing a familiar voice, the Dragonlord turned around and saw the bright yet small smile on the face of his friend and the person who Bella saw as her mother. The Dragonlord of the Blazing Void, Kiana Kaslana. "Bella always did have a knack at finding you,"
"Is that jealousy I hear?" Asked Issei as he raised his hand and rubbed her mane of white hair.
"Nope! I was concerned that I have to wait until you recovered your memories," Kiana said with a smile, leaning into the hand of her fellow Dragonlord. Like a cat...
"Yeah, I managed to wake up before Mei arrived,"
"I know. I saw your handiwork," Kiana said with a smile before gently sticking to his side, opposite of Bella, and snuggling close to his warmth.
"Careful, we're in Japan. People might think we're a couple," Teased the young Dragonlord yet his arm wrapped itself around her shoulder.
"Hmph!" Kiana said nothing more as she focused on him.
The two of them remembered their adventuring days such as snuggling together for warmth in the frozen Northlands and Dragesvard. Sharing body heat to not freeze to death ended up as a form of therapy for the two of them.
"So, Kuoh Academy?"
"Yeah, Lord Michael told me about the peace treaty," Kiana revealed as she finished drawing something in the air.
"That's nice," While he enjoyed a good fight every now and then, he despised war. It made raising his son, Draco, harder than it should be.
"I need a favor," Kiana said with a smile.
"What kind?" The young Dragonlord asked, walking with her deeper into the park, unaware of some prying eyes looking at them.
"Is that Sister Kaslana?" Asked a beautiful blonde with an Italian accent to a girl with short blue hair.
"This is..."
A girl with orange hair tied into a pair of twin-tails pouted as she looked at the scene in front of her. Sister Kiana Kaslana is well-known in the church as a happy-go-lucky and loyal member of the church, brightening everything with her hardworking and sincere demeanor to her duties and giving everything she had all the time.
To see her like this, like a regular girl... it both made her happy for the blessing the lord had let her see and jealous. Yes, she was jealous that her current team leader and someone she admired was so close to her childhood friend. She wanted to spend more time with Issei!
"Oh my, it seems like you have been NTR'ed," Tsubaki Shinra whispered, looking at the sight of the supposed Fiancee of her king.
"Shut it," Sona said, watching the Sister of the church and her 'supposed fiancee'. While the terms of her engagement did state that she would be engaged to anyone who defeated her in chess, Issei never truly won against her...
Back to the Dragonlords of Doom and the Blazing Void, the duo walked through the park with the young woman clinging to his side. It might have been only a few months to some but for them, it felt like an eternity. It was a tradition that they would spend some hours cuddling with each other, especially in colder temperatures. It also didn't help that they were essentially sealed away in places where there was not much social interaction.
Kiana Kaslana wandered through the Void, drifting there for years while he spent all those times sealed in enchanted ice. Unlike her, who had her dragon and the dragons of the void to help contain her Void magic alongside Nythera, he spent those years all alone, both conscious and not. Their reunion in the Void was both heartwarming and... filled with sorrow.
"You were the one that took care of the exorcists and Necromancer, right?" Kiana asked, looking at her fellow Dragonlord. She noticed the residue of magic in the air after they arrived. It was familiar, oddly so. The familiar form of Necromancy that hijacked the original? It could only belong to him, the only Necromancer she trusted.
"Yeah, I needed to clean up Kuoh," Issei said, making a small smile bloom on the young woman's face.
"Shadow-hunting magic," Kiana said with a smile, remembering a certain someone who helped them during the Calamity. "Symone trained you well,"
"Hey, I have some responsibility as the second Shadow hunter in Lore," Issei said with a smile, making Bella giggle a bit. "Besides, we both know you're powerful enough to take care of them on your own,"
"Issei!" Whined the young woman. "Hmph, that's a strawberry shortcake,"
"Fine, fine. I'll treat you," Issei gently replied, trying to calm her down. "You improved your Pyromancy,"
"You noticed? Oh yeah, your bullshit skill."
"It's not bullshit! I trained this!"
"Hacks!" Kiana cried out, glaring at him.
"Power bottom!" A hand covered his mouth and his eyes focused on the red face and wide blue eyes of the Blazing Void's Dragonlord.
"Flirting again?" Bella asked with a dopey grin on her face, feeling at ease at the aura shared by the two.
"Not in front of Bella!" Kiana hissed, trying to not corrupt her dragon's innocence.
"You started it!" Hissed Issei back, returning her glare with her own. A fire burned in her eyes while he showed a mighty blizzard in his that threatened to consume all.
Magical power flared from each of their bodies.
"Pfft!" Laughter escaped from the two dragonlords as their power receded. "We're already 27 and we're still this... stupid..." Kiana said with a grin, remembering all the time they spent together. While they are technically in their early 30s, they spent some time away from Lore either in a sealed state or in a place where time and space are out of synch. A few months in the deep void in a secret location only known by Void dragons resulted in a few years in Lore.
"Well, that's how we became friends," Issei said with a fond smile, remembering that day. While it was Mei that he first met during his first Mogloween, the Lorean equivalent of Halloween, he first befriended Kiana who stopped by Osprey Cove, the home of Pirates, to take some contracts for her mentor, Zhoom.
They bumped into each other, literally, and after a bar brawl and waking up on the beach...
"I can still remember how many Moglinberry booze we had..." Kiana whispered, feeling her headache. A bar brawl caused by their bet. Their stupid pride wanting to win and drink each other under the table. He miscalculated her deceptive strength hidden under her slender frame ended up with him getting launched through the wall. Normally that would have either killed him or taken him out of commission but he had already finished his training as a Dragonlord at the time and taken care of some dragons, allowing him to shrug off the damage with ease.
"Barrels... So many barrels..."
"We... pfft! We had to work for a week to pay it all back," Kiana replied, remembering all the things that happened, how he got eaten by a whale and had to fight his way out through the other hole.
"Yeah," He remembered how a giant Kraken managed to grab her like one of his tentacle hentai and how he waited for a bit as payback. What? He might be a hero but he was still a teen at that time and he was a bit petty.
It did end up with him getting his ass kicked by her afterward but after a (thankfully) less-rowdy drinking session with them getting hammered after they managed to get their 'totally legit' papers to get trained as pirates. A lot of things happened, how she taught him how to use a gun and how he taught her to take care of his dragon.
After the events of the light orb and finishing her training as a master ranger, he invited her to live with him in his castle, Kaer Draconis. It was a castle fit for a dragonlord like him but it was just too big!
That's why he preferred living in the Inn inside Falconreach. Not only that, he could spend time with his surrogate family and help Aria get Ash to notice her. But the homely feel of it all. His perverted antics almost disappeared in that small town filled with a group of people he cared for with all his heart. Don't get him wrong, he still enjoyed ogling beautiful women and their figures but he did not peek anymore. He was too busy helping those around him like Aria, the resident beastmaster, and surrogate little sister, and her father, Yulgar the blacksmith.
Something soft pressed on his lips, cutting him off from his thoughts. Brown eyes looked at the soft blue belonging to his friend. Before he could say anything, the young woman pulled him into her arms and pressed his head on her chest while Bella got off him and wrapped her arms around the two.
"Shh... it's okay, Issei. We're here. You're not alone again," Kiana whispered, tracing patterns on his back as she caressed his mane of brown hair. "You have me, Mei, Draco, Kurikara, Bella, and the others. You won't be alone this time,"
"Fuck... why can't I win against you again?" Issei asked, voice muffled by her chest as he closed his eyes, focusing on her heartbeat. The same sound that soothed him as he broke in front of his best friend and brother's grave. He remembered it all, the way he broke as everything that happened... how he could have done things differently and saved them all.
Gently, the young Dragonlord stood tall, towering a bit over her shorter form, and fixed her habit on top of her head.
"Who knows," Playfully replied the Dragonlord of the Blazing Void as she looked at him, her eyes filled with trust, respect, and adoration for her friend. "I want to introduce you to my team,"
"Kiana, you're giving me a harem?"
"Don't push it and no," She said while looking him in the eyes, her blue eyes burning bright. "You don't have a harem, I do!" Kiana said with a smirk. "Ahh... A harem of Mei..." Blood dripped out her nose as Issei carefully and gently covered Bella's ears.
'Some things never change,' he thought while gently holding onto the void dragon's ears.
"And people call me a pervert..."
"I will go and Raid Mei's panties!" Kiana shouted, losing herself to her desires, giggling as she held herself.
"Bella, be a good girl and don't end up like Kiana, okay?"
"I won't!" The dragon said with a smile at the Dragonlord holding her.
"Good! Now, can you be a good girl and wait for me and Kiana until our classes are over before we get some ice cream?"
"Yes! Will big brother Draco and big sis Kurikara join us?"
"They will!"
"Thanks, Dad!" Hearing this, the heart of the Dragonlord of Doom and the hero of Falconreach felt his unbeating heart to anything except breasts, his family, and friends stop.
"Aww!" Hugging the little dragon tight, the young Dragonlord smiled hiding his tears of joy. To hear himself called dad by one of the dragons he helped raise... It warmed his soul.
"We're going to be late!" Kiana shouted, looking at her watch. Hearing this, the Dragonlord of Doom pulled out a pocket watch and opened it.
"No worries." Issei said with a smile. "We can drop Bella off my house. She is behaved enough and mom would love her."
"Can I get to sniff Mei?"
"After school. I have an anchor set inside for easy access." With a smile, the young Dragonlord of the Blazing Void gently carried Bella instead of him and with a minute use of light magic to form an illusion around them. A cyan flash covered the small field.

"Our classroom's over here,"
"Is that, Issei?" Motohama asked.
"He's late. He usually arrives on time." Matsuda replied.
"Mr. Hyoudou, is there any reason as to why you are late?" Asked their teacher as the door opened up, revealing Issei. The young Dragonlord's uniform was a bit wrinkled and his hair was a mess.
"A cat got in my way so I took the long way around." He said with a shiver while Mei raised a brow as she looked at him. While very faint, the familiar scent of someone close to her lingered around him and the faint bruise healed by Light magic on his neck...
"Very well,"
"President Shitori wanted me to give this to you,"
"I see," Taking the letter, the teacher opened it as Issei went to his seat, looking away from the look Mei gave him.
"Class, we have a transfer student in our class today." The teacher called out.
"Is it a girl?"
"Is she single?"
"Please be a girl!"
"You can come in now." In came Kiana Kaslana in the uniform for the girls of Kuoh academy. She bloomed like a flower as she entered the room with a grin on her face.
"Guten tag!" Kiana greeted with a smile. "I'm Kiana Kaslana and it's nice to meet you! Please take care of me!"
"WOAH!!! WE HAVE A CUTE NUN!"
"PAY UP ISSEI! I WANT A COPY OF YOUR STASH!"
"Well, at least it's not another pervert," Katase said.
"Wait a minute... Isn't that your jacket, Hyoudou?" Murayama asked, looking at the young man.
"Yeah, Kiana wanted to borrow it." Issei replied nonchalantly while looking at the member of the Kendo club.
"You better not be taking advantage of her!" Murayama said, worried for the transferee.
"You should be worried for me!" Issei complained, remembering how easily that girl could overpower him physically. Stupid blessed bloodline!
Well not anymore! After his training as a Rift walker and higher experience in all his arts, he could now effortlessly match her.
-_-_-_-
Sunday arrived.
Rias Gremory and the rest of her peerage along with the student Council and members of the church could only watch in shock.
Issei Hyoudou stood alone with a spear of light piercing through his heart.
"ISSEI!" Irina cried out to her child hood friend pierced with a spear of light through his heart.
"The date was not half bad..." A hand grabbed her throat swueezing it. "Impossible! How?!"
"Light magic eh? A bit tainted but still powerful enough." Issei said as he looked at Raynare as the spear of light through his chest started to disappear while his eyes turned blue and bled red while his sclerae turned black.
"Unluckily for you, I don't have the same weakness of light like a lot of Necromancers and undead." Issei said with a smile as the shadows embraced his form. "Now, you will serve me."
"N-no! S-stop!" Raynare cried out, forming a spear of light and stabbed the young man repeatedly as he laughed. Blue flames as cold as ice bloomed like a flower from his hand and devoured the fallen angel, burning away her soul.
"Another soul joins the legion," Issei said as a greatsword formed in his hand, absorbing the soul of the fallen angel.
Dropping the corpse, Issei watched the shadows transform the fallen angel into an empty shell and rose to the ground, kneeling in front of him.
"Well that's a new one. I might run some experiments before I unbind and purify her soul," Issei nonchalantly said while dispersing his sword and the now-undead fallen angel into his shadow.
"Oh yeah! Mei's cooking my favorite tonight! La la la!" The young Dragonlord hummed as he happily skipped away as if he did not brutally execute someone just to turn her into a puppet.
All those who have seen him do so could only stare with wide eyes as the aura of fear struck deep into their very cores, freezing them in place.
"Issei-kun/Hyoudou is a necromancer?" Irina, Sona, and Rias whispered as the truth caught up to them.
