Chapter XIV

"Everyone has their inner child inside them, even if they're not kids anymore. It's just some are braver enough to admit it." ~Anonymous

A huge pirate ship flew past our Gummi Ship. "Uh, that big ship is catching up to us," Goofy noticed.

"Quit gawking! It's a pirate ship!" Donald yelled.

The ship flew back and began flying towards us. "It's going to crash into us!" I screamed.

"Hold on tight!" Sora warned as the ship slammed into us, breaking our ship apart and sending us flying, knocking me unconscious.

I felt myself being rocked back and forth roughly, like I was on a piece of log during a storm in the ocean. I ignored it and tried to sleep. Then the whole place rocked and I rolled to the side and my head smacked onto a post. "Ouch!" I yelled, jerking up and rubbing my head. I examined the room I was in. "Where am I?"

It looked like I was in a ship's quarters with a looked door on the side. I walked over and twisted the knob. Yup, it was locked tight. I glanced to the ground and saw a caged trapdoor. I squat down and yanked it. It didn't budge. It was locked in tight, too. "That must of hurt a lot," A voice said.

My head went up. "Who said that?" I asked.

"Me." I turned to see a girl with medium length brown hair in a low bun in a blue nightgown. "I saw you roll over and your head hit the wooden post. Are you okay?" She repeated.

"I'm fine," I replied. "But how on Earth did I get here?"

"A boy with silver hair came in with you and a red-haired girl. You two were unconscious. He placed you and her here before leaving." She explained.

Riku, I thought. He must of found me and brought me here. I looked around again to see Kairi. My eyes widened. "Kairi? Kairi!" I cried, crawling over to her.

She was the same, but her eyes were droopy, as if she was half-asleep. She did not reply to me. "Are you okay?" I asked again. "It's me; Saki! Speak up!"

She didn't respond again. I poked her really hard at her side. No response. I cringed. "I really hate doing this." I slapped her really hard across her face. Her head lulled to the right before going back to its original state.

"She was like that the whole time," The girl explained. "Either she's asleep or doesn't care."

"I hope she's alright," I added.

"What's your name?" She asked. "I'm Wendy Darling."

"Sakura," I said back. "Where am I?"

"In Captain Hook's ship in Neverland," Wendy said. Scurrying was heard below us. "Peter? Peter Pan?" Wendy asked, coming down to the caged trapdoor.

A red haired flying boy in green clothes was underneath the caged door. "Wendy!" He said.

"Please hurry! The pirates are coming!" She begged.

"What?" He cried. "I'm coming in!"

"Wendy?" A voice asked. I jerked up. It was Sora!

"Yes?" She said.

"Is there two other girls with you?" Sora asked.

"Sora! I'm here!" I yelled, crawling over to the caged door.

"Sakura! You're alright!" He sighed. "Is Kairi with you?"

"Yup," I said. "But before you celebrate, she doesn't seem to be aware of anything around her. I yelled at her, poked her at her side, and even slapped her but she isn't responding me. It's like she's asleep."

"Kairi? Kairi!" Sora begged.

She twitched a bit. Her hand moved off her lap and her fingers moved. I smiled a bit; maybe she was aware of what's going on after all. Then, someone grabbed me by the collar of my shirt. "Gah!" I yelled, surprised.

"Ah!" Wendy cried. I turned to see her sink to the ground.

"Let me go!" I said, thrashing around trying to get out of the attacker's grasp.

The attacker carried Kairi and I to the Captain's Quarters. It dumped us there. I looked up to see Riku. "Riku? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Just finishing up my job," He replied. "Ah, I see you have seen Kairi and the state she is in right now."

"What happened to her? Do you know?" I begged.

"Maleficent thinks her heart was taken by the Heartless," he said.

"Can I do anything to help?" I said.

Riku thought for a moment, "If you want, you can join the darkness."

"What? Never!" I cried.

"You're missing out in a lot," He shrugged. "I already have the Heartless on my side. My heart is strong, it won't give into the dark powers unlike those fools you encountered, Think about it, Saki; being able to control the Heartless. Wouldn't that be great?"

"Not for me!" I yelled.

"Your loss," He picked up Kairi.

"Hey! Don't take her!" I shouted.

The door swung open and Sora, Peter Pan and the others ran in. "Riku, wait!" He cried.

Riku shook his head. "Before I leave, I will demonstrate the power for the darkness for you, Sakura so you can rethink your decision." He stepped back the the door and a pool of darkness formed where his feet was. A Heartless version of Sora rose from the puddle of darkness.

I ran at it and strike it with my Keyblade. It jerked up and hit me back, getting into the same battle stance as Sora. I stumble back a bit, but I regained my balance. I lifted my Keyblade into the air. "Stop!" I shouted. A clock appeared at Sora heartless and he froze. Sora and I ran up the him and struck him at the same time. Stop wore off and he hit us back, went to the ground, and traveled to another part of the deck. We chased after it and hit it again. He began floating over the pool of darkness he came from, and he seeped back in.

"Now, off to find Wendy!" Peter said, preparing to fly off.

"Wait! I know here Wendy is!" I interrupted.

"You do?" Peter asked, stopping. "Where is she?"

"She's at where you found us," I explained. "They didn't take her away, like they did with me and Kairi. They knocked her unconscious."

"Okay," Peter replied, flying off with us following him.

We came back to the room they found Wendy, Kairi and I on. Wendy was lying unconscious in a corner. Peter ran up to her, "Wendy!" He cried, shaking her awake. She didn't budge. An orb of light flew around Peter, as if it was warning him something. I got a quick glance and it looked like a blonde haired fairy with blue eyes and in a leaf dress and leaf shoes. "Not now, Tink!" He snapped. Tink flew off in anger. "Well, this is as far as I can go. I've gotta help Wendy," He sighed as he flew off with her.

"What should we do now?" I asked.

"We managed to find most of our pieces to our Gummi Ship," Sora explained. "We now need to find a spot to put it together and we'll be off!

"Alright, but where should we go?" I said.

"Probably to the main deck."

"Alright."

We went around the ship, battling the Heartless and looking for the main deck. When we arrived at it, there was a man with black hair and a black mustache dressed as a pirate with another man with grey hair, a red cap on his head, a blue-striped shirt and old, faded grey pants. They had pirate Heartless guarding them. The man turned towards us. "Quite a codfish, that Riku-running off with that girl without saying goodbye."

Wait, Riku left with Kairi? To where? "Run off to where?" I demanded. Sora and I drew out our Keyblades. "Tell us, where did he go?"

"To the ruins of Hallow Bastion, where Maleficent resides," He replied. "But, you, my boy won't be going there. The girl will."

"Okay, what's with it with these people needing me? What do you want with me?" I demanded. "I swear, you're the fourth person who tried to take me away without telling me why. Why do you need me? Who needs me?"

"So many questions, yet so little time. You three, you're welcome to leave, like Riku," He sighed as he took a lantern. Tink was in there. Sora gasped. "Unless you intend to to leave your pixie friend behind?"

My mind went blank. We could leave, like we wanted to, but what about Peter Pan? What would he think if he found out that we left his friend behind? I already know how he would feel. I knew that we needed to go and find Riku and Kairi, but the guilt in my heart of seeing Peter Pan losing his friend got the better of me. I dropped my Keyblade onto the ground. Sora stared at me. "Sakura, why did you do that?" He cried as the pirate Heartless surrounded us.

"Good girl," the pirate said. "Now, little boy, hand over the Keyblade and the girl and I'll spare all of your lives. Be glad I'm merciful, unlike the Heartless. So, which will it be? The Keyblade and the girl, or the plank?"

A tick tick tick noise was heard form the ocean. The pirate stopped and glanced over the plank to see a green crocodile making that noise. "It's him! The crocodile that took my hand!" He cried with fear, "Oh, Smee! He's after my other hand! I can't stay here! Go away! Oh, I can't stand the sight of him! Smee, you take care of them!"

Smee nodded as the pirate ran off like a coward and glared at Sora. The pirate heartless guided Sora towards the plank. Sora began to walk backwards off the plank. "Sora!" I cried, being restrained back by the Heartless. He closed his eyes, as if he was thinking about something. Then he jumped off the plank. "NOOOO!!!" I screamed as he was falling into the crocodile's mouth. But, the most unbelievable thing happened.

Sora FLEW. Not kidding. Millimeters before the crocodile snapped him in half, Sora flew up into the sky. He had some golden dust around him. Then, Peter Pan flew by and snatched the lantern out of Smee's hands. He and Sora flew back onto deck and Peter opened the lantern, letting Tink out. "Thanks, Peter," Sora said.

"Hey, don't mention it," He smiled. "You didn't think I'd leave you and Tink behind, did you?"

Smee ran off as the Heartless advanced on us. But, they were no problem to us. We had them wiped out in no time. Peter went over to the door by the main deck and knocked on it. He stifled a laugh and brought his fingers to his lips, signaling us to be quiet. "Is that you, Smee? Did you get rid of them?" He asked.

Peter held his nose with his fingers. "Aye, Captain Hook. They walked the plank, every last one of them," He said, imitating Smee.

Captain Hook ran out from his hiding place. He skimmed the deck, looking for us. Pete crept quietly up to him and poked his back with his dagger. He yelped and jumped up. He whipped around when he landed. "P-Peter Pa-blast you!" He shouted.

"Ready to make a splash, you codfish?" Peter laughed. "Now it's your turn to walk the plank!"

Captain Hook drew his sword and began chasing us around the ship, trying to slash us with his sword and hook. When he wasn't looking, I put my Keyblade by his feet and he tripped over them and flew off the ship. Just as his feet touched the ocean, he leapt back onto the ship, gasping for air. A smoking, small, flying steamboat came by and dropped presents which exploded after a couple seconds on the ground. He glared at us. "Blast all of you scurvy children!" He cursed as he began attacking us again. But, Peter grabbed him and flung him off the ship. He splashed into the waters. When he came up for air, the ticking crocodile looked at him in the eye, licking its lips. His eyes widened as he screamed, jumped up into the air and ran across the ocean with the crocodile chasing after him.

Sora leaned over the ship, staring into the sky. "Sora?" Peter asked. "Are you alright?"

"I still can't believe it," Sora sighed. "I really flew. Wait 'til I tell Kairi. I wonder she'll believe me. Probably not."

"You can bring her to Neverland sometime," Peter offered. "Then she can try it herself."

"If you believe, you can do anything, right?" Sora asked. "I'll find Kairi, I know I will. There so much I want to tell her-about flying, the pirates and everything else that happened."

Tink came back and told Peter something in her language that Peter could understand. "What? There's something about the clock tower?" He said. "Let's get going!"

As the group took off, I cleared my throat. "Are you forgetting someone?" I asked with a teasing annoyance.

"Huh?" Sora said, looking back. "Saki? Can't you fly?"

"If I could, I would be with you guys right now," I sighed.

"Uh...oh yeah! I forgot!" Sora slapped his forehead. "Peter, I really hate to ask, but can you lend Saki a little bit of your pixie dust?"

"Sure," He said. Tink objected and Peter said sternly, "Now, now, they helped to save you. It's the least you can do back for them."

She flew over and fly around me, sprinkling me with dust. "Now, believe that you can fly and you will fly," Peter said.

I closed my eyes. I pictured myself soaring through the air, through the clouds, looking at everything under me that was once so big that were now tiny dots. Sora grabbed my hand. "Come on!" He said as he jumped of the ship.

"Wha-AHHHH!!!" I screamed a I closed my eye, expecting to plunge into the ocean with Sora. But, I felt nothing. I opened my eyes to see myself flying while holding Sora's hand. "Isn't it great?" He laughed.

I laughed back, "It is!" We spent a couple minutes of practice flying. I was flying around like crazy. I was flying, like how I believed I would!

"Now, let's get going to the tower!" Peter said as he sped off as we followed close behind.

*~*~*~*~*~

We flew to the clock tower where Wendy was. She got up. "Tink says there's something wrong with the clock tower," Peter explained. "She says it hasn't rang the next hour bell yet."

"It's been half-an-hour and the hand hasn't budged," Wendy added.

Sora and I flew up to it. He took out his Keyblade and smack the minute hand. It moved from 9 to 11. I smacked out and it moved to 11 to 12. The clock rang and a Keyhole appeared. Sora and I pointed our Keyblades at it. Yellow stars swirled his Keyblade while blue stars swirled mine and two beams of light shot out from it. I was pulled into the same trance again; I saw a giant weaving with black thread woven into it, I wove out the black thread and new, colorful thread wove in. After that was done, I was pulled out of my trance. Sora looked like he was remembering something.

Wendy walked across the clock tower to be in first of Peter. "Peter, are you really going back to Neverland?" She asked.

"Afraid so," He sighed. "But we can see each other anytime. As long you don't forget about Neverland, that is."

They held hands and gazed into each other's eyes. Tink looked jealous and Donald laughed, until Tink faced him. He literally clamped his beak shut with his wings. She flew around Peter and back to us. "Oh boy. She's gettin' steamed again," He smiled. "Do me a favor. Look after her for me, will ya?"

"What?" Sora, snapping out of his trance asked as Tink flew in front of him.

*~*~*~*~*~

I gasped for breath as I bowed in front if Maleficent. Going through a Corridor of Darkness to get back here with Kairi wasn't the greatest idea after all. "It was reckless to bring her here without at least using a vessel," She scolded. "Remember, relying too heavily on the dark powers could cost you your heart."

A roar shook the castle. It sounded like a monster from those fairy tales I read when I was a kid. I leapt to my feet. "A castaway," Maleficent explained. "Though his world perished, his heart did not. When we took the princess from his castle, he apparently followed here through the sheer force of will. But fear not. No harm will come to you. He is no match for your power."

"My powers?" I asked, confused. Did she mean my ability to control Heartless? Sure, I can summon a powerful army to get rid of the castaway, but if he got here without a vessel or a Corridor of Darkness, then it's going to take more than a Heartless army to take him down.

"Yes, the untapped power that lies within you," She replied. "Now, child, it's time you awakened that power and realized your full potential."

She tapped her staff onto the ground and a green aura surrounded me like before. I felt the power she gave me surge through me again, only this time it was stronger than before. I felt unstoppable.

Ugh, I really hate how I wrote this chapter. I don't know why.
