Chapter I
"The worst thing about being lied to is knowing that you're not worth the truth" ~Toradora!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
My blue sandals slapped the cold, hard ground as I walked across the smooth, cool, stone floors of the castle that used to rule over a kingdom. I wore a white ruffled gown past her knees with a blue ribbon on her neck.
I was visiting this castle with my caretaker Maleficent, who is a fairy. Maleficent always wore a black and dark purple robe. She had black horns sticking out of the sides of her head. She had green skin, beady yellow eyes, and had a staff with a green orb at the top. She was never seen without her pet crow minion.
We live in another castle farther away from this one that's isolated from everyone else. Maleficent told me that humans from the outside world are very selfish, greedy, and dangerous. She said that my parents were good people but they were killed by the king, and I was found by her when I was a baby. She said that I was wearing a necklace with blue heart shaped with a crown on top charm. I was never allowed to go outside. The only time I am allowed outside was in the mornings when I stood over a stone balcony to get some fresh air with two goons watching me.
Did I forget to mention that we aren't the only ones living in the castle? We live with goons that are goblins ans trolls that are our servants. I kinda don't like the idea of extra protection for me. It makes me feel helpless.
Anyways, back I was saying; I was walking across the castle, bored out of my mind. I swore I that I circled the castle at least a thousand times already. I read all of the books in the castle, so I had nothing else good to do. A couple hours ago, Maleficent closed off a couple of areas in this castle. I asked her why, and she replied while stroking my long, black hair and looking at my icy blue eyes while I looked at her yellow eyes, "I have work to do. I won't want you getting hurt."
As I walked on, I heard voices. One of them belonged to Maleficent and the other one belonged to another person. I crept closer and I realized it was coming from the rooms I wasn't allowed in. I turned to walk away, but curiosity got the better of me. I placed my ear against the door and I heard was mumbling.
So I went to the kitchen and came back with a glass cup and placed it on the door. Much better, I thought.
"And why would I want to that?!" Demanded a voice. It belonged to man.
Maleficent replied to the man, "In your heart, there is darkness that is waiting to be awakened."
I heard a ghostly glowing sound and I knew it was coming from the staff that she carried. I heard a gasp, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Perhaps not yet, but I have the power over sleep. And I can awaken the what's inside of you...then you will free to be who you truly are."
I heard a yelp, then silence. What did she do to the man? I thought. Then a bright light came through the cracks of the door. "Ah!" I screeched, covering my eyes.
I heard Maleficent say, "Here it is...just what I waited for." I heard something set on fire. "To think that all he spoke of was and what will be true." I heard the footsteps and I ran away so she wouldn't know I was eavesdropping. I put the cup away as I heard her come down the clicking of her shoes coming down the stairs. "Sakura," She said.
"Yes?" I said, pretending to be bored.
"I recently did a project upstairs and it didn't go very well. I'm going to clean it up soon, but please stay away from the upper part of the castle for today." She told me. But I could tell from her eyes that she was lying.
"Okay, Maleficent," I told her.
"Good, glad to hear that." I heard her shoes click away as she left to the lower part of the castle. Once I was sure she was gone, I quietly bolted up the stairs and to the forbidden room.
I stopped at the door, panting and opened it. I saw a man. He had tan skin, brown hair that was spiky at the base of his neck and blue eyes. Except, they weren't normal blue eyes. They were cloudy blue eyes, as if he was under a spell. He was standing over a bed and I saw a blonde haired sleeping women. Was that why Maleficent banned this part of the castle? I thought. Is this her project?
But then I realized something; how on earth am I going to free this man from the spell? I know all the spells in Maleficent's spell books by heart, but I don't remember the book mentioning how to free someone from a controlling spell. Then, I saw something in his hand. It was a brown weapon that was in a sort of shape of a key. Maybe that strange weapon will help me free him from the spell. I pry his hands off the weapon and I point it at him and called out: "Let's use this...um...key-shaped weapon to free you from this spell you're under!" Then, I saw a bright light. I looked down and I saw it was coming from the key shaped weapon. Cherry blossoms began to circle around me. I didn't have time to wonder because soon I lost my consciousness.
I saw this weaving made of colorful thread. It looked very beautiful. But as I came closer, I saw that it was some glowing black thread woven into it. I didn't know what to do. The key-shaped weapon started glowing and it quickly pointed itself to the weaving, as if it was magnetic. All the black thread woven into the weaving began unweaving itself until none of the black thread remained. I had no clue what was going on but then I blacked out.
I blinked a couple of times to see the gasping man. He clung to the bedpost. "W-What happened? What have I done?" He noticed me and asked, "You! Do know what happened?"
"You were under a spell," I explained.
"Oh no," He muttered. He glanced at the sleeping woman. "The last thing I remembered was a great force knocking my consciousness out of me. It must of been a spell! Maleficent must of put me under a spell to get the girl's heart! I have to fix this." He paced around and noticed that I was holding his key-shaped weapon. "Where...no wait, how did you get that?"
"I got it out of your hands. I used this to undo the spell," I explained. "There was this gigantic weaving. I think it was your heart. Anyways, there was black thread woven in and this weapon wove it out."
He stared at me and took his weapon back. "Great, now I have an unknown successor." He grumbled.
"Wait, what happened?"
"You see here, when I let a person touch my Keyblade, this weapon here," He showed me the brown, key-shaped weapon. "It activates what we call a Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony. So now, since you touched and used my Keyblade, you now have the ability to use one."
"I don't care about that! You got to fix what you did!"
"I know, and I'm gong to."
"Let me help!"
"No."
"Why?"
"It's too dangerous. And plus, I don't want to get you in trouble with Maleficent."
That made sense. I stopped arguing with him. "I gotta go!" He said.
"Wait!" I cried.
"What is it?"
"I never asked; what's your name?"
"My name? It's Terra."
"Oh, cool. Mine's Sakura."
"That's a very nice name. I believe in another language it means 'cherry blossom'."
"Thanks."
Terra ran out of the room. I stared out the window for a bit. What is Maleficent hiding from me? I thought.
*~*~*~*~*~
Maleficent and I were back at our castle and I was in my room. I was going to read a book when I heard the door bridge open. Did Maleficent leave and I didn't notice? I wondered. Then, I heard screeches of the goons. Oh great, we have an intruder in the castle. I hoped the intruder couldn't get past the puzzles hidden in castle. You see here, in some rooms, there are a bunch of portals that transport you around the castle. But, you can't just transport around in any portal. As you walk around, walls appear, blocking your path and some goons will spawn. Eventually, there's going to be one or two portals that will transport to the right spot where you want to be. It's really hard to solve. Believe me, it took me three hours to get out from one of the trap rooms.
I ignored everything until I heard Maleficent talking. I barely listened, focusing on the book I was reading. I heard evil laughter, "One of these days you should meet my daughter, who is really a pawn."
WHAT?! I thought. I put down the book. What was she saying about me?
I bolted down to her throne room where I saw her, a man with golden spiky hair and three fairies in the colors of red, greens and blue. I saw her laughing. "Oh, how gullible she is! If she only knew the truth! She was born in Radiant Garden, not here in this kingdom! Humans are just pawns, not monsters." She cackled at my stupidity.
"Then why did you take her in?" Asked the man.
"Simple; I wanted her because of her special powers, But, her parents got into the way to protect her because of this 'love'. I had to kill them so I can get her. She has the powers to access the human heart and weave, reweave, or unweave anything from the weaving! The necklace she wears is from her mother. What her mother didn't know that it gives her access to her powers," She cackled.
I covered my mouth, Maleficent killed my parents! Everything she told me was a lie! I thought.
I watched as they fought with Maleficent. The man hit her with his Keyblade. She turned in it a swirl of purple smoke with sparkles and transported herself to a different part of the room. The man followed her and the three fairies shrunk themselves to glowing orbs and they circled his Keyblade. A beam of light came out form his Keyblade and hit Maleficent. She was stunned for a couple of minutes and they landed the finishing blow on her. A women with blue hair came in. "Ven, the master told me to take you back," She said.
"But Aqua...what about Terra?" Ven asked.
"He's not ready to come back yet," She said sadly.
Ven thought for a moment, then he said, "I'm sorry, Aqua, I can't go back just yet." He ran off.
"Ven!" Aqua cried, reaching out for him. The green fairy tried to stop Ven, but the red fairy held her back.
"I see you wield a Keyblade too," Maleficent said.
"How do you know about the Keyblade?'' Demanded Aqua.
"A source of power...a key that open the hearts of men, of entire worlds...and allows one to obtain everything and anything. Such a power I find most fascinating."
"So Terra...he really..."
"Yes. Now, my dear, would you like to assist me, as well?"
"Never." She prepared to fight.
"I see, Xehanort was right. You are a most stubborn girl." Maleficent rolled her eyes.
"Master Xehanort? How do you--"
"It seems you need time to consider my offer. Fortunately, I have the perfect place." Her staff glowed as she slammed it down onto the ground. A hole appear where Aqua was. She yelped as she fell down into the hole and into the dungeon. I turned and bolted back to my room.
*~*~*~*~*~
I sat in my room, wondering what to do. Then, I made up my mind; I will get Aqua out of the dungeon and run from here. But the only question is; how will I get out of here? Then, I remembered that I was hiding some items in the woods that can help me out in my situation right now.
As I was lost in my thoughts, Maleficent walked into my room, "Sakura? We have to leave soon. Please get ready."
"Okay," I said. Perfect, I thought. She's getting ready to leave the castle. Enough time to find Aqua. As she left the room, I ran down the stairs and into the dungeon, where a goon guarded the door. "Maleficent needs you at the front of the castle!" I lied.
He grunted to me, which I assumed it meant, Ha ha, nice try kid.
"Oh really? You want to be turned into material for her potions?" I taunted.
That was enough to convince the goon. He bolted out of the dungeon, stupidly leaving behind the keys. I snatched the keys and unlocked the door. When I opened the door, I saw Aqua and a man with brown hair. "Hurry up!" I ordered. "Maleficent's getting ready to leave the castle!"
"But...don't you trust her?" The man asked.
"Not anymore, since I found out she was lying to me all this time."
"Okay."
Then, the three fairies flew I saw before into the room. The green one smiled at me, "I knew you had some good in your heart, despite of Maleficent taking care of you all this time."
"What are your names? I'm Sakura," I asked. "I know the woman with blue hair is Aqua."
"My name is Flora," the red fairy said.
"Fauna," the green fairy said.
"Merryweather," the blue fairy said.
"I'm Prince Philip," the man with brown hair said.
"Where's Maleficent going?" Asked Aqua.
"Hm...let me think," I pondered. I remembered the sleeping woman in the castle we were visiting earlier. Then, it hit me, "I got it!"
"Where is she?" Prince Philip asked.
"The empty castle at the end of the woods!" I claimed.
"You mean the one that used to rule over a kingdom?" He said. "The one with a sleeping women inside?"
"Yes!" I shouted.
"Alright, let's get going!" Aqua said.
I opened the dungeon gate and let them all out. We all ran through the castle. Some of the goons spotted us. They were most surprised to see me, because they're my servants. But I was done being their mistress. I let them get beaten up as we charged out of the castle and into the woods. After fighting our way through the woods, we arrived at the castle. Then, I heard Maleficent chant: "A forest of thorns shall be your tomb...wound 'round the castle in a bower of doom!"
Purple lightning shot from her staff and thorny tress grew all over the pace and blocked the bridge that was leading towards the castle. I hid behind Aqua out of fear. A green ring of fire appeared and as the fire died done, she was in the middle of the ring.
"Maleficent!" Aqua shouted. "What did Master Xehanort tell you?"
"Such a pity, child," Maleficent said. "That you don't have Terra's gift for obedience. Nor can you see how easy it was for him."
"Terra would never do anything to help you!" Aqua stated.
"Quite the contrary," She smirked. "He fully embraced the darkness within himself."
"Stop lying!" Aqua screamed.
"See for yourself-all the powers of hell!" She screamed.
The ground rumbled as she turned into a huge, terrifying dragon. She had black scales all over her body along with a purple, scaly belly, black and purple scaled wings, piercing yellow eyes, and jagged claws on her feet. She breathed green flames everywhere. I screamed and hid behind Aqua again. She put me to the side. "Stay safe, okay?" She asked. I nodded quickly in agreement. She turned back to fight Maleficent with Prince Philip.
They jumped into the air as they dodged the shock wave from her stomping on the ground and the green fire she breathed out. Prince Philip grabbed Aqua's hand and they jumped onto Maleficent's back and struck her. She roared in pain, got up and flew around the castle, trying to shake them off of her. When she landed, they got off of her and the three fairies casted a spell of Prince Philip's sword that made it possible to defeat her. With one thrust of the sword, Maleficent was defeated. All the thorns surrounding the castle went away and Prince Philip made his way inside to do whatever. Maleficent walked past us. I hid behind Aqua's legs again. I then realized that she hasn't noticed me yet. "It's the power of true love that defeated you," Aqua said.
"I will not be defeated by something as insignificant as love," She groaned.
"You don't even the first thing about it," Aqua argued. "And I have proof."
Maleficent turned and I came out from my hiding spot. Her eyes widened and she scowled at me, "So, it was you who lead them towards me."
"You killed my parents and told me lies of the outside world, Maleficent," I told her. "And I believed every word you said. How is that love?"
"You're too clouded by darkness to see that there's something greater," Aqua said. She turned to faced the castle but then turned back to face Maleficent again. "Try all you want, but you'll never defeat heart filled with light."
"Perhaps..." She started as she turned and faced us. "But remember one thing-as long there is light, there will be darkness. And in time, many more will be drawn to it. Then they will belong to me!" She narrowed her eyes at me. "Get out of my sight, I don't want or need you anymore." She disappeared into green flames.
Aqua turned and faced me. "Well, now you don't have anywhere to go, so..." She trailed off.
"No, I can't," I said. "I don't want to burden you with me. Besides, I have an escape plan already."
"You do?"
"Yes, come with me to the woods."
We entered the woods where I dug by a bush and pulled out some sticks, potion bottles, a spoon and a soup pot. I had these hidden away for a couple months now because when I get older, I wanted to go to the outside world. I poured the potions into the soup pot, stirred it with the spoon and placed it on top of sticks. "Aqua, can you light a fire for me?" I yelled.
"Sure," She said as she set the sticks on fire.
The potion bubbled and a green fire appeared, mimicking Maleficent's portal. I turned to Aqua. "This is a one time use only," I told her.
"Will you be okay?" She asked.
"Trust me; I'll be fine." I stepped onto the bowl and turned to Aqua. "Bye Aqua!" I yelled.
"Bye, Sakura!" She said. Then, I was sent flying into the portal to wherever it was safe.
*~*~*~*~*~
The portal opened and I landed on a stone path. I looked around. There was a garden, houses and a huge marble castle. I skipped with happiness of the fact that I escaped Maleficent. I stopped and realized that I was lost. Great. I decided to ask for some directions around here. I saw a man with a very long, white beard and wore blue robes. I assumed that hopefully he lived here for a long time. I ran up to him. "Excuse me?" I said.
"Hm?" He turned to me. "Child, what do you want?
"I'm lost." I looked down at my feet.
He squinted at me. "You have the eyes and the face of someone I used to know." He sighed. "Unfortunately, they were murdered and their child was taken away." He eyed my pendant. "Hey, wait a second...where did you get that necklace?"
"I had it since I was born," I explained.
He gasped, "No way!"
"What is it?"
"Could you be...Akari and Itsuki's daughter?"
"Well..."
"It is true! I recognize those icy blue eyes anywhere! And the face! I recognize your father's face shape anywhere!" He cried out. "I found her! I found Akari and Itsuki's daughter!"
All the people turned and looked at us. A duck with a monocle came closer and examined my face. He gasped, "It's true! Sakura has returned!"
All the people ran to me and bombed me with questions on where I was, what happened to me and did I know what's was going on. I burst into tears. "What's wrong?" Asked the old man.
"I have no clue what's going on!" I sobbed. "All I know was that I was taken away for some reason, I was going to be used for some plan and my parents where killed!"
"Everyone!" Yelled a voice.
Everyone turned and gasped. "It's Masako!"
A old woman in a lavender dress with a pink scarf and a white apron. She stepped forward with a young girl with auburn hair, blue eyes and a white shirt, a pink skirt and white shoes. She came up to me. "Sakura, do you know where you are?" She asked gently.
I shook my head, tears streaming down my face. "I entered a portal and ended up here," I explained.
"You're in Radiant Garden," She explained. "Your home."
I cocked my head at her, clearly clueless. She sighed, "Your parents were Mitski and Itsuki. There is evidence that you're their daughter because that necklace you wear belonged to your mom. A couple of months after they had you, they were killed and you were taken away. For four years, no one has heard or seen you, until now."
"I still have no clue what's going on," I said.
"I don't expect you to," She said. "Come with me. Your parents are dead. There is no use of dropping you off at an orphanage. I'll take you in as my second grandchild."
She held out her and I took it. We walked away with her other grandchild. The other grandchild asked me, "So, where did you come from?"
"Kairi!" Masako scolded. "Sakura has enough questions for today. Give her a rest, please."
"Okay!" Kairi said.
*~*~*~*~*~
It was nice to stay with Grandma and Kairi. At first, I called Grandma "Ms. Masako" but she laughed and told me to call her Grandma. Kairi still asked questions on where I came from. I told her that I came from a world that was full of darkness with no light in it. That was all it took to end her curiosity.
She also has this thing where she calls me "Saki" instead of "Sakura". I don't know why, though. Maybe my name may be hard to pronounce? I didn't mind the nickname and found it cute that Kairi was calling me that, as if we were actually siblings.
I was picking flowers at a garden and Kairi was picking flowers near the castle gates. We wanted to surprise Grandma with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. I saw a door hanging in its hinges. I entered and I saw an entirely new place. Curious, I looked around, then I something flying over me. I looked up and I saw three flying parts of a body: the hands, the legs and the body. It landed at put itself together. I came closer and wondered what it was. It saw me and turned around to face me. It's body parts started flying off and they aimed at me. I screamed and rolled away. The monster tried to hit me again. That's when I was swept up by someone. I looked up and saw that it was Terra. "Terra?!" I screamed.
"S-Sakura! What are you doing here?" He asked.
Aqua entered the place and saw me. "Sakura! I'm glad to see you safe!" She cried.
Then, Ven entered the place. "Ven?!" They shouted.
"Who's that girl?" Asked Ven, who was looking at me.
"No time to explain! We got an Unversed to defeat!" Aqua shouted.
Terra put me down onto the marble path. "Find a safe place to hide," he ordered. I listened and ran to hide by the broken door.
I watched them as they took down the monster. The three parts kept on breaking off form it and flying towards the trio, trying to hit them. They jumped and struck one of the body parts. It came back together again and began stomping in the ground. They dodged the shock waves and landed a team attack on the Unversed. When it disappeared, I came out from my hiding spot. "Who are you?" Ven asked.
"I'm Sakura," I said.
"Hey...weren't you that girl that Maleficent was talking about?" He said.
"Yeah," I said. "I found out she was lying so I left the place."
"She helped Terra and I while we were there," Aqua explained.
"Oh! I wanted to give you something as a thank you gift for saving me!" I said.
"What is it?" Terra asked.
I reached into my basket and pulled out three flowers. I handed one to each one of them. "Flowers!" I said. "Do you like them?"
"They're really pretty!" Ven said.
"Thanks!" Terra and Aqua said.
"No problem!" I said. I looked out and saw that it was late afternoon. "I better get going or else Grandma is going to get worried."
"Okay then, bye!" Ven said.
"Bye!" Terra said.
"Stay safe!" Aqua said.
"I will!" I cried as I ran off to the town square where Grandma and Kairi would be.
*~*~*~*~*~
A storm was going on for the past couple of days on Radiant Garden. Grandma was starting to get worried of the constant rain. "This isn't very usual..." She kept of mutterinng.
"April showers?" Kairi guessed.
"Nope, that's not it," She sighed as she got up. "Well, heavy rain isn't going to stop me from getting the groceries. I'll see you two in a bit."
Kairi and I were playing board games for a couple of hours and we noticed that Grandma hasn't came back yet. "What's taking Grandma so long?" I asked with concern.
"She probably was slowed down from the heavy rain," Kairi assumed.
After a couple more hours, Kairi and I started to get really worried. "Maybe I should look outside to see if she's coming." I drew the purple blinds from the window and gasped, "Whoa!"
"What is it?" Kairi asked as she ran up next to me. "Yikes! What happened outside?"
Outside it was pitch black, as if someone flipped a light switch outside and turned off all the light. Wind howled like crazy, as if it was threatening to blow away our house. Even in the darkness, I saw Grandma's figure hurrying through the storm. "I see Grandma!" I cried happily.
"Open up the door for her!" Kairi shouted.
I opened the door and screamed, "Grandma! Hurry! I don't want the storm to blow off the door!"
She opened her mouth as if she was trying to say something to me. A strong wind blew and the next thing I know I was screaming as I was spinning around in complete darkness, as if I was in the tornado from the book The Wizard of Oz. "Kairi! Grandma!" I screamed.
"Here!" A voice that belonged to Kairi shouted. I was grabbed by Kairi.
"Where's Grandma?" I cried.
"I don't know!" Kairi shouted.
We kept on screaming for Grandma. Kairi's necklace began to glow. Before I could ask her why it glowing, we were shot through a portal as if we were rockets flying into space. A bright light filled our eyes. Then we landed headfirst and started sliding across a sandy surface. When we stopped moving, my head ached so much and I blacked out from the pain.
*~*~*~*~*~
I lied on a soft bed with an ice pack on my head. I turned to my right and I saw Kairi, awake on her bed with an ice pack on her head too. A brown-haired lady came into our room. Her brown hair was put up in a messy bun, as if she was super busy and didn't have time to put up her hair. She also had warm brown eyes, which reminded me of chocolate. She wore a plain blue dress with white stockings, black mary-janes, and a white apron on her blue dress. "Oh! I'm glad you two are awake!" She cried.
"W-what happened?" I asked.
"On my morning walk, I saw you two unconscious on the beach. I took you two into the orphanage right away. You two were pretty banged up, especially at your heads. Luckily, you suffered from no brain damage. Can you two tell me your names?" She explained.
"I'm Sakura," I said.
"Kairi," Kairi said.
"I'm Aiko Fumiko," The lady said. "Can you tell me where you came from?"
"We came from..." I trailed off. I realized that I didn't know where we came from. I turned to Kairi, "Kairi, can you tell her where we came from?" I asked.
She shook her head sadly, "I'm afraid I don't remember either, Saki."
"So, you two don't remember?" Aiko ask.
"Yeah," I said.
"Well...do you remember your childhood up until now?" She asked.
"Actually, I don't remember anything," Kairi explained. "All I know is that Saki is my younger adoptive sister and this necklace came from my mysterious hometown."
"Same here," I said.
"So it looks like you two are suffering from very selective amnesia..." Aiko muttered as she got up. "But no worries! You two are safe here, that's all that matters."
"Aiko?" I said. "Can I ask you something?"
"Yes?" Aiko replied.
"How long are we staying here?" I asked.
"Well....until someone comes and adopts you!" Aiko said.
As she left, I felt tired. I laid down on the bed and was out in seconds.
*~*~*~*~*~
Kairi and I were playing Gold Fish when Aiko came into the room. "I have good news for you two!" She cried gleefully.
"What is it?" I asked, not looking up from our game.
"The a mayor of Destiny Islands, Mayor Hikaru, has decided to adopt you two!" She explained to us. "He's going to pick you up soon, so pack your stuff!"
We went to our room and packed our stuff. While packing, Kairi told me: "You know, we're pretty lucky sisters, even though we're not related."
"Why?" I asked.
"I heard stories that usually one sibling gets adopted and the other one doesn't. They don't have a choice to stay together," She explained. She turned to me. "Do you still have that necklace?" She asked.
"Of course I do," I said, showing her the pendent. "It's the last thing I have that came from our unknown home. I'm not taking it off...ever."
"Okay," Kairi said.
"Also," I turned to Kairi, hand gripping the pendant, a look of bold determination in my eyes. "I'll protect you, no matter what! I vow to be your protector and knight!"
Kairi blinked at me, confused at my words before she began to laugh, "Where did that come from?"
Before I could answer, I heard Aiko calling for us,"Sakura! Kairi! Mayor Hikaru is here!"
We took our stuff and headed downstairs. I saw a man with short, sleek black hair and warm brown eyes. Bags were visible under his eyes, as if he worked hours into the night. He was dressed very nicely, as he wore a crisp, new suit. He also wore spectacles. He got up and smiled at us, "Hello, Sakura. Hello, Kairi."
"Hello, Mayor Hikaru," we said.
"I'm gong to be your new dad," He said. "Now, come with me so I can take you to your new home."
We got into a red convertible and he drove us to a three-story house. He led us to our rooms. "We're not sharing rooms?" I asked, surprised. In the orphanage, Kairi and I shared a room together. I didn't really mind.
"Well...no. Is there a problem?" Mayor Hikaru asked.
"No," Kairi said. "She's just surprised."
"Ah, I see," Mayor Hikaru said. "Well, I got some work to do. Why don't you two play by the beach?"
We left the house, went on a boat and rowed ourselves to the beach. It was really nice and quiet, except for the two boys nearby. I noticed that the brown haired boy whispered to his silver haired friend. The two of them walked up to us. "Hi. I don't know you two. New around here?" Asked the brown haired boy.
"Yeah," We said.
"I'm Sora," The spiky brown hair with blue eyes boy said.
"I'm Riku" The boy with short silver hair with blue-green eyes said.
"What are your names?" Asked Sora.
"I'm Sakura," I said.
"Kairi," Kairi said.
"If you two are new around here, where did you come from?" Sora asked.
"We don't know," Kairi said.
"What?! Why?" Asked the both of them.
"Well...we just don't remember," I told them.
"Wow, that must really suck," Riku said.
We ended up talking about each other, trying to get to know one another. Sora and Riku don't live on this island, but they live in a town close by, where we lived. Unfortunately, Kairi and I didn't have much to say because we don't remember anything. After a while of talking, Sora suggested, "You know...since today we get along so well...why don't the four of us become best friends?"
"Great idea!" Kairi said.
"Yeah, it is," I smiled.
We waved goodbye and left into the boat. I was grinning. It was our first day here and we already have two friends.
Something tells me that this is going to to be an awesome new adventure.
