You and your best friend, Tayler, were sat beside the fire in the Gryffindor common. Tayler was once again glancing over her shoulder every few seconds to smile at George Weasley, her boyfriend. They had been together since last week. George had asked her out during Charms while you and George's brother, Fred (whom you also happened to fancy), rolled your eyes at them.

Yourself and Fred had never really spoken until George had asked Tayler out. After that Charms he had made a beeline for you and slung his arm over your shoulder – which had made you blush furiously.

"Looks like we'll be getting to know a lot more about one another Hailey," he had said with that mischievous glint in his eyes as he dragged you out the classroom behind George and Tayler.

"George told me something really interesting the other day," Tayler said absently after she turned away from silently communicating with George from across the common room.

"What did he tell you?" you asked, the tip of your quill scribbling over a mistake you had made in your Runes essay.

Though you could not see Tayler's face you just knew that she was grinning from ear to ear. And indeed when you looked up she was. You placed your quill down and raised an eyebrow, "What Tay?"

"He told me," Tayler smiled in that way that plainly told you – I know something you don't know. "That someone likes you."

You blushed instantly. Your fingers tumbled with the pieces of parchment in your hand and the ink bottle that was placed carelessly on your knee almost fly onto the floor. Someone liked you? Someone liked you.

"He's probably joking – you know the Weasley twins have a penchant for joking about," you said, sending a disbelieving sort of look at your friend.

Tayler however looked rather determined to prove you wrong. "George may joke about a lot of things but trust me, somebody likes you!"

You still were not convinced in the slightest. "Who is it then?"

"I-I... I don't know."

"Ah-ha!"

"George said he was sworn to secrecy!" said Tayler, shooting you a glare as you rolled your eyes, "If I knew I would tell you."

"He was obviously joking, Tay," you said, now returning back to your essay. "Or perhaps it's Lee or something. Lee fancies everyone so I would not be at all surprised if it was him." Tayler shrugged in reply before she too continued her homework.

The few days that followed Tayler brought up this apparent 'person' whom fancied you. You however still believed that George was simply joking. For a moment you had believed, or rather hoped, that it had been Fred who fancied you. After all, you couldn't deny that you fancied that pants off of him.

"Free periods are bliss, aren't they Hailey?"

Speaking of the devil – Fred Weasley had threw his books onto the ground beside you. You had found solitude leaning against a tree beside the lake doing your homework. He smiled lazily at you before throwing his body beside you. His entwined hands rested against the back of his head and he closed his eyes in relaxation. You could not help but stare at him, the way his red head hung messily over his forehead, the freckles that were peppered over his face, neck and exposed arms.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer Hailey," Fred mumbled.

You blushed, you hadn't notice that one of Fred's eyes had been half open and watching you.

"Where are George and Tay?" you asked, wishing nothing more than to change the subject.

"They both have Herbology," he replied nonchalantly, now fully opening his eyes so that they could meet your own. "Then they'll probably meet to snog one another in a broom cupboard."

"Ah," you sighed, returning to the homework you had been completing, a small dancing across your lips. "Young love,"

"It must sucks to see your friend snogging someone all the time," Fred began, casting a quick look in your direction before staring out towards the lake. "I mean, don't you get lonely?"

"Not really," you laughed. "I understand what it means to have a friend with a boyfriend. And I'm not lonely – I have Angelina and Alicia to talk to. And – erm – I have you to talk to too."

"Yeah," Fred beamed. "We have each other!"

Silence followed this. You bit your lip and moved your eyes back to your parchment. You felt so nervous. You had never everbeen so alone with Fred – apart from the giant squid that was floating on the lake surface only twenty feet away.

"What homework are you doing?" Fred asked, his chest leaned slightly against your arm as he peered over your shoulder. Your heart began to race at an incredible speed and you blushed so violently that your cheeks turned the same colour as Fred's arm.

"Oh – uhm – just Transfiguration homework..." you mumbled, trying not to focus on the slight contact of yourself and Fred Weasley, "you know about human transfiguration and stuff,"

"Sounds fun," Fred snorted.

Before you could do anything, Fred's hand grabbed your piece of homework and pulled it from under your quill. You glared at him as he held your piece of parchment from over your head.

"Fred!" you exclaimed, trying to grab it but he merely smirked and grabbed your wrist. "Give me that back!" you squeaked, trying your best not to laugh as you struggled against your crush. "Please give me it back!" he smirked once again and pulled you slightly towards him. You gasped. You were now nose to nose with the boy you had been staring at during your lessons since the beginning to the year. You felt as though your heart had taken refuge in your throat.

"You know," Fred began; you felt his fingers gently trail from your wrist to the curve of your waist – which only made you blush even deeper. "I heard that Tayler let slip that a certain bloke fancies you."

"O-Oh," you stuttered, feeling so lightheaded that you were surprised you had not fainted yet. "Really?"

"Really," Fred replied, the hand that had been holding your essay was now gently holding your face. "From what I know he's a real looker."

You didn't say anything. You had seemed to forgotten how to string your words in a sentence.

"Not only is he good looking but he's funny, charismatic, fun..."

"I take it you know him pretty well then?" you smiled, your fingers ghosting over his freckled skin. "Mind telling me who this bloke is?"

"I'm not going to tell you, Hailey," Fred smirked, "I'm going to show you."

"Erm – wha-"

You were cut off by something that you had only dreamed of. Fred Weasley's lips were lightly brushing against your own. Your stomach was now on fire as you tasted the chocolately taste of his lips as they moved soundlessly against yours.

"I take it you're the bloke that likes me then?" you asked, rather dumbfounded after pulling away from Fred.

"How did you know?"

You grinned, "I'm guessed."

Fred gave that lopsided, almost lazily smile that made you lean up to catch his lips with your own. Neither of you heard the distance bell that signalled the end of a blissful free period.
