„Got everything?" Fred asked, placing himself next to you. His voice echoed slightly in your little empty flat; seeing it all bleak made you feel a certain kind of melancholy, while on the other hand, you couldn't deny you were utterly excited for what was yet to come. "Yes" you said and turned to the many boxes filled with your possessions on the right, "I think I do" Fred put his arm around you before squeezing your shoulder slightly; you could see a smile tracing his lips before his eyes met yours. "Don't tell me you're sad because you're leaving. I've always told you, this place is way too small" – "I know, Fred. It's just that I did spend a good amount of time living here and now I'm going to have to share a flat with a half-wit like you. Have some sympathy!" He smirked now, tightening his grip around your waist. "Well, that's your misfortune, then. Besides- I'll be incredibly entertaining. You would miss out on something if you didn't live with me, don't forget about that-" – "Yes, I know" you rolled your eyes considering how often he had told you that living with him would be outright pleasurable. You took his hand as he still grinned, and when drawing out your wand with the other, his smirk got even wider. "Ready?" – "Ready" you answered and with a "Crack", the boxes and you were gone.
You took a deep breath when both of you landed on the wooden floor of your new apartment, but a moment later you gasped due to all the boxes falling down with a big thump in the room next door. "Good to see that charm still works. Imagine they had landed somewhere else. Maybe some old crock in Australia would've gotten some new furniture and books-" But before Fred could finish, you turned to him and kissed him quite fiercely – after all, a new part of your life had just begun, and thus you felt more overwhelmed than ever. "What was that for all of a sudden?" he mumbled sounding rather pleased while looking into your eyes. "This is our apartment now. It's just amazing, isn't it? I can't believe I agreed to move in with you..." you chuckled. Your fingers were sliding from the back of his head right underneath his earlobes where you massaged him slightly, your eyes still fixed on his. "You're very much right. Glad we got this one and- hey, you were the one suggesting it!" He looked around your bright apartment for a moment before frowning at you, but you just took his arm and put it around your shoulder. It was a very nice place indeed, located very near to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes so Fred wouldn't have too many problems staying in touch with George and getting to work; plus, it was considerably bigger than both of your former apartments. With Fred and you being financially secure, it luckily hadn't been very difficult to find a place like this – it had big windows, a comfortable bathroom including a bathtub, and yet it didn't look posh, it was rather cozy. Especially Fred happened to be very fond of flats with a bit more individuality, probably because he had spent his entire childhood at the Burrow which was, after all, a place you instantly felt at home. George and him had agreed on separating and obviously they had figured out a way to keep in touch very well, especially because they still had a business going.
Fred now started putting little kisses on your jawline and neck to tease you, and thus you knew he was happy being here. "Stop it, Fred" you said when his touches started to tickle you, but he had you in his grip until you had to laugh out loud. "I said stop it!" you bellowed and finally managed to escape his arms before glaring at him – "Don't you dare do that again" But before he could reply, you heard the bell ring, and as it echoed through the bleak room, Fred smirked at you. "No time to weep, (Y/N), it's time to spruce this flat up!" With these words, he went to the door and opened it, whereupon you remembered that George and Ron had promised to stop by to help you unpack all the boxes and furnish your new rooms. Fred greeted them rather cheerful; he did seem very excited and you couldn't wait to see your new apartment all cozy when you looked at him. "Nice" George said when he entered the living room, even though he had seen the empty flat already. "You're definitely not going to be too unhappy here, mate" – "Well, depends on how my roomie over here is going to behave" Fred mumbled, stretching out his arm to show you he wanted you to come here, and when you let him put it around you, a sarcastic smile traced your lips. "Roomie? That's sweet. I think I should have some skepticism here. I'll be the first one to run away..." – George chuckled slightly before turning to you. "Well, Freddie does like a bit of a mess sometimes. Better take care of that or you will go absolutely bonkers" – "Thank you, brother" Fred snapped, but when you put a soft kiss on his neck, he did give you a little, quite understanding smile as well.
It was already dark outside when Fred heaved the last box into your bedroom, and as he put it down with a sigh, you walked towards him. "Thanks for taking care of the last one" you mumbled. He was visibly exhausted, but both of you were so relieved to have accomplished that much today you just hugged in the middle of the room, with Fred breathing into your neck and putting soft kisses on your hair. George and Ron had left about an hour ago since most things had been done; besides, they had been pretty exhausted as well, and you two agreed to take care of the rest. Now, your apartment looked considerably nicer than before – bookshelves and cupboards had been filled, your living room had a couch and your bedroom was garnished with soft, pretty lights. Some unpacked boxes were still spread across the floor, and yet, you were insanely proud of having managed to come this far today. Fred's tight grip around your body made you realize how lucky the both of you were – not only because Voldemort was defeated once and for all, but also because you felt as if there were more peaceful times ahead, and to share them with Fred was, after all, a dream coming true. Although he didn't talk a lot about it, you knew he was relieved and most of all satisfied: just when you smiled slightly, he gently lifted your head to put a soft kiss on your lips, just as if he had been thinking the same. With your eyes shut, you kissed him over and over again until he parted from you only a few inches away from your face. "As much as I like this place, we really have to do something about the color of the wall here, it's actually ugly-" – "Why on earth do you always have to ruin moments like this, Fred?" – "Because it annoys you, dear. Getting on your nerves is one of my main aims in life. And you'll have to put up with that, by the way-" – "Shut up, Fred" – With these words, you leaned forward once again before pushing him backward towards your new bed.
