Chapter 12

Days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months, and yet no news about Torch came up. The only thing that reached Jane's attention was Royal Academy losing against Seishou. It was quite surprising, all the students were babbling about someone called "The Demon of the Field," and about Jude Sharp being Seishou's game maker. Yes, Jane was starting to hate Jude again for leaving Royal, aside from that a wild rumour about Raimon gaining new soccer members, who according to the media are from Okinawa. Even though so many things were happening, Jane's mind was in a huge mess. She was not confident about going back to Hokaido, with Torch and Gazel attached to their hospital beds.

A loud knock on the door echoed through the the girl's bedroom, causing her to lazily slip away from her bed, and open the door. Aidan stood infront of her, a wide grin won his childish face, with Shane standing behind him.

"Good morning Baka! No time to explain what is happening, so let's go!" Aidan was talking too fast, that Jane was barely able to understand a word he said, but before she could even comment, her childhood friend had already grabbed her arm, and was dragging her out of the mansion. Shawn tagged along, fearing his twin would cause more trouble than usual.

Jane did not do really mind being pulled around the town, but her curiousity only made her wonder why Aidan was acting overly hyper, he did not even dare to let go of her arm ever since they left the mansion. So she ended up moving from cafe to cafe. It was not half bad watching Aidan stuffing his mouth with deserts, but she never dared to order anything.

"Oi!" Jane finally snapped out of her thoughts, and glanced at the owner of the voice. Side was munching down a chocolate chip cookie like a mouse, while narrowing his eyes suspiciously at her. The girl was unable to hold back her giggle, causing Aidan to pout irritatedly. Shawn smoothly motioned a waitress nearby to bring another plate of cookies. Just when the women placed the plate on the round table, Aidan grabbed one angerly, and shoved it into Jane's mouth. The girl coughed angerly, before spitting the small desert out of her mouth. In A split second, the cookie was attached to Aidan's cheek, saliva slowly dripping from the desert. Shawn was giggling heartfully, while covering his smile behind his pale hand. Once Jane recovered, she and Aidan glared irritatedly at Shawn, before leaving their chairs, and walking away. The silver-haired boy chased after the two teens, a nervous expression replacing his joyful laughter.

" HEY! Wait! I am sorry! " Aidan had a mischivious grin on his face, and Jane was quickly able to tell something bad was going to happen to Shawn.

Not far, Sue walked out of an overly blue, and pink sprayed building. Her hands were resting in the pockets of her puffy, pink, hip hop pants. She had a white hoodie on, and a blue, and white cap. Ever since the summer vacation, she extended her interests to Korean pop, she even joined a small club. Blue arm bands attached themselves on her wrists, they were a gift from Tori, and she would not spend a day, without her precious accessories. A cheeky smile was dancing on her face, that even her feet were slightly moving to the song she was dancing to a few minutes ago. People would pass by, and looked at her in confusion, but Sue would just keep dancing to her imaginary retheme playing in her childish mind, until she spotted three familiar figures on the opposite side of the street.

"Oi! Jane!" She yelled, running towards her best friend, her cheeky smile not leaving her face.

Jane glanced at her old friend, and felt a small smile crack on her face. She had been ignoring her for a while, but seeing her in a moment of need was relieving. Aidan turned his eyes to the blue-haired girl, and sighed annoyingly, he hated new people entering his friendship circle. Shawn on the other hand was gasping for air, while wipping the sweat off his forehead, and slightly licking the bottom of his dry lips.

"Konichiwa everyone!" Sue yelled, wrapping her arm around Jane excitedly.

"Yeah~hi" Aidan replied starcatically, causing Sue to pout angerly at his rude attitude.

Shawn simply waved his hand, still catching his breath. An awakward silence floated across the four teens, no one finding the right words to say anything. Finally, Cut broke the silence, and started talking," Did you hear the news Jane? The hospital is going to let Gazel go this afternoon!"

A small flame flickered in Jane's eyes, and her attention was quickly turned to the sky. A beautiful mixture of orange, white, red, and yellow filled the once blue sky. Sue was smirking excitedly, waiting for Jane to make her move, so she could follow. Aidan was simply confused. Shawn was only expecting another run through hell. Jane looked her hands, and smiled victoriously, before breaking into a run. Sue and Shawn dashed after their friend, leaving Aidan in his confused state, until the boy finally gave up, and followed them. The hospital was far away, and it would have been way better if Jane had just taken a cab, but her stubborn mind did not give her time to think, she could only use the cramped alleyways to get to the hospital quickly. Her mind was not responding to the exhaustion her body was feeling, her only goal was to be quicker, faster, and stronger, that she even felt her hair would rip away from her head from the pressure of the air slapping her face. Boxes, small fences, and empty beer bottles filled the alley. There was always the risk of thugs meeting up, but Jane was ignoring the danger. The wind was slapping against her cheeks, her legs were screaming with pain, but the teen just kept jumping, dodging, and pushing every obstical in her way. Desperation could pull humans beyond their limits, but Jane had no control.
