Chapter 5

Jane's POV . . .

During the day, me and Torch kept noticing that all Gazel's plays were poor, ever time he passed the ball, it was always off-course, he even kept narrowing his eyes a Byron the hole time. I snapped out of my thoughts, and brought my attention back to the game, we were divided into six members for practice, and sadly, Byron and Gazel were on the same team. Me and Torch were playing together against them, but we always had doubts that Gazel might lose his cool.  Right now, I was playing midfield, and
Choi Chang Cho has just passed me the ball. Without wasting another second, I dashed forwards, and easily dodged Gazel's slide-tackle.
" Your moves are too obvious, you much better before", I teased, as I passed the ball backwards to Torch. Gazel seemed surprised by my words, and widened his eyes. Torch took this as an advantage and, ran towards the goal, while swiftly escaping all the defenders attacks easily.
" Get ready! Your you going to turn to ashes!", he announced, kicking the ball in the air, and performing his hissatsu technique.
" Atomic Flare!", he shouted, jumping after the ball, and kicking it towards the goal, with bright, red flames covering the ball. Surely, the goalkeeper was unable to stop it, and it went through the net easily. I ran towards him, and we highfived as a sign of victory.
" It didn't get rusty the slightest", I giggled, as I heard coach Lee Jin Sung blow the whistle, announcing the end of the practice match, causing the score to end up with three for me and  Torch, and two for Gazel, and Byron. The other team members on my side seemed quite motivated, and cheered happily, except for Choi Chang Who, who had a small smirk on his face.
" Alright everyone, go back to your rooms, and rest a little", coach announced , while clapping his hands. I was about to leave with the others, but the coach called for me suddenly.
" Jane, I need to have a word with you", he said folding his arms, and waiting for me to turn back to him. I was confused at first, but I obeyed politely, and turned to him.
" Is there something wrong coach?", I asked respectfully, and straightened my back.
" It's just about sir Withingale, his moves were bold, and he seemed like hope had something on his mind, not to forget, he kept eyeing his teammate Byron Love. Do you by chance know what's wrong with him?", he asked seriously, and waited patiently for me to answer. I hesitated at first, but replied, " You see sir, me and Byron had an unpleasant history, and Gazel is just being a bit over protective, and jealous". The coach stared at me for a who,e before letting out a heavy sigh.
" I would really appreciate if you could help him get rid of that habit, it is being really effective to his plays", he said , patting my shoulder.
" Your dismissed", he said, and walked away.

I walked back to the building, took a quick shower, and went to my room feeling exhausted. My bedroom' s small window was open, and a a soft breeze of the afternoon blew into my room, giving me a comfortable feeling.
I walked closer to it took a deep breath. A soft knock was heard on the door, and I answered, " Come in". I did not look at the new comer, and kept staring at the orange sky outside my window.
" Heard your conversation with the coach, so that silver-haired boy is just over protective, impressive", I turned around, and looked at Byron suspiciously, who was still in his jersey.
" Shouldn't you take a shower?", I asked, covering my nose with a handkerchief, and straightening my sleeping gown.
" Come on, I don't stink that much", he said, while giving me an innocent smile.
" Says the freak", I teased, while grabbing a towel from one of my drawers, and tossing it in his face.
" So why are you here?", I asked. His smile disappeared, and he bowed down.
" I am sorry", he said closing his eyes. I blinked a little at his straight forward apologizing, but managed to speak.
" Whatever it's fine", I replied looking back at the window, but the sky was now raining hard, and dark clouds covered it hole. I was about to close the window, but I stopped once I saw a familiar silver-haired boy practicing soccer in the field.

Gazel's POV . . .

I kicked the ball into the net, and fell to my knees, unable to feel my legs, while breathing heavily. There was no one in the field but me, and the only company I had, was the rain. My damp, hair blocked my eye-sight, and my knees were covered with several scratches. I looked at the sky lost in thought, my hands were cold as ice, and my lungs were filled with cold air.
" C-can't b-breath", I whispered, in a choking voice, and fell down on the muddy ground.

Jane's POV . . .

I grabbed an umbrella from my closet, and ran to the field with Byron, feeling worry, and fear. Once we reached the muddy field, I spotted Gazel lying on the ground unconscious.
" Gazel!", I crouched down next to him, and handed Byron the black umbrella , and placed Gazel's head on my lap. His face had mud stains, and his forehead was heating up.
" He has a fever, help me get him to his room", I told Byron. He handed me the umbrella, and we walked back to the building with worried faces.
Once we got to Gazel's room, Byron quickly placed him on the simple bed in the room, and ran out of the room, to get a bowl of water, and several towels. I stayed by Gazel's side, and whipped the mud, and dirt from his face.
" Reckless idiot", I mumered, looking at his closed eyes. I placed my hand on his forehead, and felt it heat up. The bedroom door squeaked, and Byron came rushing in with a bowl of water, and many white towels. I dipped one of the towels in the water, and placed it on Gazel's neck. After a few minutes, he hand a towel on his forehead, stomach, and chest. I might have over did it a little, but it was for the best.
" I will go in from the coach ", Byron said, standing up from beside me, and walking out of the room.
" J-Jane", I quickly turned my attention back to Gazel, who had his eyes slightly open. My fingers interwined themselves with his, and felt tears trinkle down my cheeks.
" Idiot! You made me worried", I sobbed. He caressed my cheek with his pale hand, and smiled weakly.
" I am fine, it's just a fever", he said, but was cut off by letting out a small cough, before continuing, " Why is your dress wet? Don't tell me you went to get m-", I placed a gentle kiss on his forehead, and brushed my fingers through his filthy hair. I saw a faint blush appear on his face, but I just ignored it, and kissed his cheek.
" I will never forgive you for getting me worried", I said, and placed my index finger on his lips.
