Chapter 11
Xavier's POV . . .
" Do you think she will write back?", I asked Jordan, as we practiced our passes in the green field, and sighed heavily.
" I have no idea, I never even met her. You just keep talking about her everyday", he replied irritatedly, and passed the ball I me. Ever since I sent Jane a message to confess my love, I was unable to get her bright smile out of my mind. David kept telling me to give up on her for an unknown reason, but I did not allow that to get in the way.
" You should focus more on soccer! it is what she would have wanted you to do, right?", Jordan said, while walking towards me, and patting my back. I looked at the sky, and replied, " Yeah, but I am still curious about her". My friend sighed heavily at my answer, while balancing the soccer ball on his head, and replied, " Your strange you know. When you first saw her, you just wanted to use her for Alias Academy's advantage, but you ended up falling for her instead". I moaned in annoyance, crossed my arms, asked,
" Why do you make things sound so complicated?".
Jordan dropped the ball on the dirt floor, with a cheeky smile, and replied,
" It's not usual for you to be so lovely dovey". My cheeks turned red, and I turned my back to Jordan, not wanting him to see my blushing mess.
" It's doesn't matter! Back to practice", I ordered, and stole the ball from him swiftly.
" That's not fair!", I heard my friend complain, as I dribbled the ball towards the goalpost.
Third Person POV . . .
Back in Korea, Jane, and the other members of Fire Dragons walked out of the bus once they reached the stadium. The teen girl's eyes sparkled as she anaylised the curved construction. The team was led to the changing rooms, but Jane preferred to change in the bathroom, which she did. Their jerseys where pure red, the collar, and sleeves were simply white. Jane looked at herself in the mirror, with a proud smile on her face.
" I give it everything I have got!", she yelled happily, and pitched her cheeks to make sure everything was real.
Once the team stepped on the field, loud cheers were heard, and the huge crowds threw red ribbons in their direction. Jane took a deep breath, and looked at the rest of her teammates, each on of them had the sign of determination on their faces.
"Welcome everyone! Today's game will be Fire Dragons versus The Barrecuda ", shouted the announcer through the speakers, as louder cheers filled the stadium.
" Alright everyone, I want you to show them what we are made of!", coach Lee ordered, clapping his hands, and motioning for them to start their warm up. Jane placed my blue bag on the beach, and rubbed the sapphire necklace that dangled around her neck, the smooth, curved stone always eased her, and it became a habit for her to rub it every now and then.
" There is no need to be nervous Jane", the young teen girl turned to her friend Leo, and gave him a small smile once she heard his voice.
" I am not nervous, but in fact, really excited", she replied, jumping up, and down. The blonde laughed lightly at the girl's childish actions, and replied,
" As long as you focus in the game, I fine with your decision", Leo said, while placing his thick, leather, goalkeeper gloves on.
" Lets do our best!", Torch shouted, entering the two teen's conversation, with a toothy grin on his face. Leo and Jane smiled in determination, and nodded their heads approvingly at Torch's words.
After a couple of minutes, everyone was on the field. It was tip-off for Fire Dragon, and the tension in the air was sensed between the two challenging teams, as they waited for the whistle to be blown. Jane was breathing heavily as she stood at her midfield position, while rubbing the pure sapphire on her necklace. Once the whistle blew, Torch made a swift pass to the back to Choi Chang Cho, before running to through the enemy territory, along with Byron, and Gazel. Jane made eye contact with Choi, signalling for him to pass the ball, when two of the opponent's members blocked his path, and without wasting a minute, he kicked the ball in her direction. The pass connected, and Jane dribbled past the defenders without any hardships.
" Jane! Over here!", Torch shouted from the front, while waving his hand. The teen girl looked around to make sure that there were no markers , before passing the ball to him.
" Get us the first point Torch!", she cheered, whilr watching him preform his hissatsu shot.
" Atomic Flare!", he shouted, kicking the ball in the air, and jumping after it.
Jane's determined smile became wider once she saw her friend kick the ball in the air, with crimson flames covering it. The Barracuda's goalkeeper did not last a second, against Torch's hissatsu shot, and flew backwards.
" You nailed it!", the bright girl commented, running over to the red-head, and punched his shoulder playfully.
" What do you expect? I am the best", Torch replied casually, and placed his hands behind his back casually.
" Your still as aggnorent as ever", Jane complained, poking his forehead playfully, until his face turned red from embaresment. The teen girl finally stopped, and returned to her position, leaving Torch as red as a tomato.
Not far, Gazel was watching, but did not allow his jealousy to get the best of him, but instead sighed heavily.
" I should keep it cool if I want to win", he told himself, while brushing his fingers through his smooth hair.
The game moved on, and by the time the second half was done, the score was two for Fire Dragons, and zero for The Barracuda. Jane grabbed her water bottle from the bench, and took several sips from it, before pulling out of her mouth, and patted heavily.
" Your putting everything you have got into this match even though we are in the lead", Jane turned to Belletrix , and gave him a determine smile.
" It won't be fun if I don't give it everything", she replied, and took another sip of water. The blue-haired girl giggled at the girl's respond, and handed her a towel, which Jane accepted happily.
" So how is your relationship with Gazel so far?", Belletrix asked, with a smirk growing on her lips, as she waited for the teen girl to finish wipping off her sweat. A tint of res appeared on Jane's cheeks, and she turned around to avoid Belletrix's question.
" Jane come on the game will start in a minute!", Byron called out, while waving his hand to the blushing girl. Jane quickly ran to the field without answering Belletrix' s question.
" Romantic couples these days", the blue-haired girl said, while shaking her head in pity.
