Chapter thirteen Car trouble and the Green Goblin

We just sat there for awhile and watched the sunset. Licia had her head on my shoulder and her chest was rising and falling rhythmically. I picked her up bridal style it was surprisingly easy even with my shaking hands. After laying her down and tucking her in I prepared to leave. She grabbed my sleeve though and said, "Harry stay with me tonight please. Her eyes held a soft pleading look it was impossible. After putting on my silk pajama bottoms I slid in behind her and after putting my arms around her we fell into a deep slumber.

The morning light began to filter in through the window and for reason there was a weight on my bare chest. My eyes trained downward and fell on a beautiful. Licia mouth was sightly open and she was breathing slowly. Her hair was fanned out and it made her look as if she had a black halo. My eyes fell on the digital clock and it read nine o' clock which meant it was time to get ready for our first day of university. My finger came up and poked her cheek, she began to stir and mumbled something about five more minutes and cats. My voice was quiet as I said something I knew would get her moving, "Licia your going to be late for school" She sat up straight and dashed out of bed into the bathroom and began to run water. A smirk graced my lips she must have forgotten that this was not her room. After getting out of bed and walking to her room I pulled a gray "I love Spider-Man shirt and a pair of blue jeans along with her black flats, it was my job to bail her out of naked danger. I knocked on the bathroom door and said, "I brought you a pair of cloths and I'm going to use your shower." A weak, "Okay and thank you came from the other side of the sea foam green door. After my shower I pulled a nice dress shirt and black vest out of the closet. Then I grabbed one of my sports coats and a dark blue tie. It was best to give a good impression my first day. My feet carried me downstairs and my eyes fell on the T.V. Pete was saving a little girl from the Lizard. He was always continuing the good fight in the name of his uncle Ben. Benjamin Parker raised the four of us friends. He taught me that with great power comes great responsibility and that is the philosophy that drives me forward. Licia walked down stairs and turned off the T.V and said, "Hey slow poke we are going to be late if we don't leave now." We then walked out and hopped in the Lamborghini and drove off.

We drove about half an hour to reach campus and as soon as we parked a rust bucket came rolling in, there was only one person who would have the nerve to park that thing next to my beautiful car, Pete. The minute that rust bucket pulled in and came to a stop the exhaust pipe fell out. We exited the car and saw that Gwen was in a huff. My tone was teasing when I walked over and said, "It looks like your having car trouble. I mean that is a car right?" Gwen marched right up to me before Pete could answer and said in a huffy tone, "Harry can I ride to work with you and Felicia? There is no way that I'm getting back in whatever that thing is!" A laugh escaped me as I said, "Sure Gwen. Pete you should come along too. I'm going to give you a birthday gift early." He mumbled something about stupid cars and then said , ''Fine, I won't be able to get home in this heap of bolts of anyway and for the record Osborn not all of have money running out of our ears!" The day passed quickly except for business class that professor had a poor understanding of how the financial system really worked. We had a few differences. We then walked out of school and to the parking lot. My eyes fell on Pete's car or what was left of it any way. It had literally fallen apart. Pete called the scrap man and then hopped in the back with Gwen. The ride home was full of terrible jokes from Pete. One of the jokes was, " Why didn't the moron get on the bus? Because the bus driver said more on." He then erupted into a fit of giggles, I worry about him sometimes. We arrived at my home and then walked over to the garage. My hand went into my pocket and grabbed a pair of keys that I promptly tossed to Pete and then said, "You can have that yellow corvette, it's never been driven, happy early birthday." He came over and hugged me and then dragged Gwen off and jumped in. He then promptly backed it trough the garage. I put my hand over my face and thought, only Pete would be able to do what just happened anyone else would have looked to see if the car was in reverse. It wasn't damaged though and they drove off, it was odd though Gwen wasn't supposed to work today, it was her off day. My father didn't observe off days though and maybe that was the case.

We walked inside and began to work on our homework. Licia gave a sigh and said, " This is at least four hours worth of work." My tone was sarcastic as I replied, "Don't worry princess brain it should be easy for you because you were the one who was so happy about it." She just gave a cute pout and set to work. It was about four hours later when Licia's phone began to ring and play Girl Next Door. Licia quickly answered and a few moments later she said, "Whoa Gwen slow down, Norman Osborn is tearing up the company in a suite of battle armor and he looks mutated? Okay just stay hidden we will be right there!" I grabbed the remote and turned on the news and sure enough Oscorp was the story being covered, the camera panned up and what was waiting was a horrible sight. My father was dressed in a green suite of Oscorp body armor. He looked as if he had grown a foot he then ripped a piece of metal off the building like it was nothing. His once pale blue eyes were now a dark green almost black and his teeth looked like they could rend through metal. His skin was no longer pale. It was a sickening dark green color and it looked like he had bumpy skin. He even had a hooked nose to top it off. My mind was racing a million miles a minute when he said, "I am no longer that weak fool Norman Osborn now I am the Green Goblin and all shall perish. My hand went to my forehead in a face palm, he couldn't have thought of anything better than that for his villain name. Oh the shame of it all. After that thought Licia smacked the back of my head and said, "We have no time to lose we have to help Gwen and with that we were off to the car once again. The clouds began to turn dark gray an omen of things to come.
